Genuine question, and don’t get what I’m asking twisted, but can you make a case that Mahomes might be more naturally talented than even Rodgers?

Now I’m not saying he is better just to be clear (he has a long way to go for that) but in pure talent, for someone with so little experience, I think he’s done exceptionally in that his raw decision making is pretty solid and physically, I don’t think that bit needs explaining.

No because I refuse to believe he's human and so nothing about him is natural.

Put into perspective:

Through 14 games:

4.584 Yards
43 TD
11 INT
112.5 Passer Rating.

I get he has a great team, and a great coach, but that’s through 14 games, and would already be an ananomalously good season for most top tier QBs many of whom also have had great teams and coaches.

Statistically, it is already better than Rodgers 2nd best season broadly, except INTs.

And if it couldn’t be more freaky, better than Manning’s third best season.

And Brady’s 3rd.

(Although I’m understating INTs in that comparison, where Rodgers and Brady threw many less. Manning not too dissimilar).

And this is his second (first) year.
And it’s through 14 games.

Don’t think total aerial yards and TDs (on their own) are particularly useful stats when comparing QBs.

Just curious I noticed the Miami touchdown on twitter and everyone saying how great it was. So watched it and I dont get the hype. Why was it deemed so amazing?

I have only been watching NFL for last few years but I feel like Mahomes is a generational talent. That no look pass yesterday had Romo hyperventilating and high pitch voice.

Bobby Wagner is incredible.
He’s a great player, but if that was in reference to the blocked FG attempt, that definitely should have been a 15 yard penalty leading to a first down. Game changing (non) call.

Was a reference to his entire game. Should have been a penalty on the blocked kick, yeah, but doesn't take away from him being fantastic today. Stuffed them so many times on third and fourth downs.

No, but can help. No ones saying stats are the be all and end all, that’s common sense.

I agree, stats are useful. I just think aerial yardage doesn't tell you a thing; and TDs need to be looked at in context of other things. That said, I'm a nototrious QB hater so... anyway.

Huge win for the Hawks!

Ordinarily yeah, I wouldn’t use “who has the most TDs or yards” to differentiate between two QBs.

In this context though, the reason I’m saying it carries importance is because the numbers put the season in company with some of the top seasons by a QB, figures wise.

That doesn’t today make him as good as those QBs necessarily because of, like you said, the context you need to build around stats. But it’s his second season, first actually playing, and to be putting up statistically a season comparable to some of the best, is pretty staggering.

Both these teams are trash, can't see Dallas beating the Seahawks if Dallas finish 4th

Seahawks don't look that good and Dallas at home should be too good for them . Not many teams playing better than Dallas at this point in time

Disagree, their only impressive victory came against the Saints. From what I've read/seen, the Eagles were fecked by the officials last Sunday and even then the Cowboys barely escaped with a victory against a poor Eagles side that did literally nothing for three quarters.

I'd fancy Seattle to beat them in a slugfest if they should meet in the playoffs, but it probably won't even matter since none of them would get past the Rams or Saints (or Bears, 90% of the time).

Hawks already beat the Cowboys in Dallas too. It was an awful game as I recall.

Dallas' defense (who'd have ever thought that would be the key again?) can contain Seattle's offense. It would likely be more a matter of can Dak not commit turnovers and can Dallas control the game clock and establish the run. If both happen, I can't envision Seattle having much hope especially if the Dallas defense is getting relentless pressure on Wilson and/or shutting down the opposition offense.

The biggest difference since that week 3 matchup is Cooper. This guy (link below) discusses the biggest issue Dallas had early in the season. They had no receivers that posed a threat to opposing defenses which made for easier scheming. Now there is a weapon out there. Would be an interesting matchup for sure, and either can win home or away against one another.

Being a Dallas fan it would not surprise me to see them choke a home playoff game, or win and then lay an egg the following week against a far superior foe.

These are my observations. Correct me if I am wrong.

Both defenses are equally good.
Coming to the offense:
Wilson is obviously much better than Dak.
Zeke is quite a bit better than Carson and along with their O line superiority perhaps that neutralizes the better QB.
Which leads to the difference maker which would be Cooper.
And then of course whose home the game is at.

Amari Cooper's impact on the Cowboys is severely overrated at the moment imo. Okay, yes he's made their offense a little less hideous, but his two big games came against Washington (on two missed tackles by their DBs) and against a woeful Eagles secondary. Other games included Philly again and the Falcons' depleted secondary.

His biggest contribution is that defenses have to account for him and it opens some much-needed space for Zeke.

Ah, yes, of course, cause if it's other receivers doing this against depleted secondaries and bad defenses they're still good or having a great game. Can't let Cooper have that courtesy, nope.

The second statement is certainly true, but one missing part - opens up space for other receivers to make plays.

We should have beaten Eagles out of sight we were so much in control and we got some bad calls too . A perfectly good sack ruled roughing the QB and holding calls that never were .

The officials were dreadful all game . I don't fancy us beating Rams,Saints . Bears would be a toss up but there is a lot to be said for coming into form at the right time .

How the top teams were playing a month ago means nothing now Saints and rams have both looked beatable lately .

Seahawks are not better than us and we would have home field advantage . Wilson will be on the floor a lot

Funny you should mention that - I barely saw the game so can't comment, but a friend of mine who's an Eagles fan told me they lost the game because of the officials, since they should've had a TO on the opening kickoff and a perfectly good TD was ruled back or something like that

Officiating was garbage on both sides in that Dallas/Philly game. The opening kickoff fumble was wrong, the PI on Goddard was wrong, and there were a few against Dallas that were garbage including that ridiculous roughing the passer call.

I'm sure @RobinLFC being a Liverpool fan would know all about officiating losing games. Philly fans are the same vile cretins believing in vast conspiracies against.

Cheap shot mate, this isn't the football forum ;)

I have nothing against the Cowboys for the record, but I don't belief that Cooper is the only/main reason that they turned their season around. You've got one of the best RBs in the league and a stellar defense with a legitimtae DROTY candidate in there.

Couldn't resist on the Liverpool shot with those alternative tables and conspiracy tales over the years!

I fully believe the defense and Zeke have been the main factors but Cooper's arrival has certainly boosted the offense.

The officials have been absolutely trash across the whole league this year. The Broncos have had some game horrendous decisions go against them, which along with dogshit coaching has massively handicapped us.

Even if they got the fumble on the kick off it wasn't a cert touchdown especially the way Wentz was playing .

Wentz who everyone raves about yet Dak has got the better off him pretty much every time they have met btw.

Still I'm happy people keep saying Dallas are trash makes winning every week that much better
