Thank goodness Mike McCarthy is gone. There is still hope in this world.

At least ARod will start being held accountable now
I actually believe he gets too much criticism already. He’s basically not practiced all season and played injured for most of it. All this, while having only three receivers on the roster he knows, two of which missed significant time due to injuries. What in the world do people expect? There’s absolutely no chemistry there, how could there be? It’s impressive he has performed as well as he has, if you ask me.

Thanks Mike but your time was up years ago

Let's hope for something fresh and exciting

Well, at least Cleveland won’t steal Lincoln Riley, because McCarthy is a lock to take over there next season now.

With Dallas doing well, OU might manage to keep him around a couple more seasons.

Being a United & Packers fan has been absolutely brutal this year. One HC down...

Seattle improve to 7-5, now firmly in the hunt for a wild card berth. Pretty poor game though, it’s sad to see how far San Francisco has fallen, especially after all those great games during the Jim Harbaugh era.

Yeah, with Green Bay, Carolina and Minnesota all losing, got a great chance at making the playoffs. Wasn't a classic but can't complain, Wilson was fantastic. Losing Fuker is a big problem though, he's been great this season.

If Dallas keeps winning and Chicago stumbles... could see Dallas sneak into the third seed.

Dallas remaining games: vs PHI, at IND, vs TB, at NYG
Chicago remaining games: vs LAR, vs GB, at SF, at MIN

Will forever be appreciative for all McCarthy has done for us, but it was time to go. Much like Andy Reid in Philadelphia it doesn’t make him a bad coach things have just gotten stagnant the past few years.

Good win for the Pats. Saw the first half & we played quite well.

Surprised GB sacked McCarthy now. I expected him to go, but thought he would see out the season. But it’s the right decision, they needed to move on from him.

Can someone explain what went down in the Chargers Steelers game? I've seen a lot of criticism about just about everything.

Can't blame GB taking 3 years too long to fire MM, since he won and developed Rodgers. Still Aaron isn't getting any younger and they might regret not acting sooner.

Chargers false start at Benjamin TD.
Haden should’ve picked off Rivers in the end zone but his teammate crashed into him, resulting in the Allen TD.
Steelers were offside twice before Badgley nailed the game winning FG.
Letting someone return a punt is never a good idea.

That’s all I remember from the highlights.

Some chat linking McDaniels to the Packers, would seem risky to say the least.

Heard that, too. I don't doubt his ability. I think that's basically given. But I wouldn't feel great about signing him, after what he did to the Colts.

By the way, I just noticed that I wrote a lot of negative stuff about Mike McCarthy in the past few months. I obviously still believe it was right to sack him and I still believe we did it too late. I'd just like to say at least once, that he used to be a great coach for us, that we played some stunning football thanks to him and he brought me loads of joy. I think I owe him that. He was a good coach for a long time, but it's good that we're finally moving on. I wish him loads of success, whatever he does next.

I’d be surprised if that happened. I think he’s certain to replace Belichick & teams might be reluctant after what he did with the Colts.

Yup, best of luck to him at the Browns or wherever he ends up. Think both parties needed the change.

Offsides on the winning kick as well. Blocked the second kick on the offsides.

Rumors they were offsides arriving to practice this morning.

It's crazy how much hype matters in the nfl . During the pats vs Vikings game when news broke of McCarthy getting sacked the commentators were talking about DeFillipo and how he will get a HC job soon . Vikings offence was terrible and hasng been great all year but DeFillipo has got so much hype because of the Eagles season

Why are the Vikings struggling so much? Genuine question, many people had them down as the favourites in the NFC.

He's a devote Christian...it's crazy that they have that many kids and he has (soon to be) 9 kids with one wife..and he's an NFL player!
Yeah I assumed this was the case but like you said it's crazy to have 9 kids. Can have his own offensive unit lined up a while later

That was such a good drive to reach to the 1 yard line. And then we came away with nothing!

So with McCoy now headed to IR, wonder what FAs the Deadskins will go for?

There's Bradford, Clemens, Johnson, Manual, Manzeil (hehe), Yates, etc.

I know one name that won't be on that list.
