NFL Thread 2019

Apparently AB acted like a twat during his deposition over the chucking furniture from an apartment and almost hitting a kid incident. I'm shocked.

Among the incidents highlighted in the motion — which opposing lawyer George Minksi claims “warrants the imposition of monetary sanctions” and more — Brown is alleged to have:
  • Arrived nearly 30 minutes late to the deposition.
  • Acted “belligerent and pugnacious, refusing to answer the most routine of questions, despite there being no objection to the questioning coming from his counsel.”
  • “[C]hanted, over and over, as if a mantra, a narrative of his own warped concept of the proceeding.”
  • “Acting as if he was above the rule of law, [Brown] proceeded to make a mockery of the deposition process. [Brown’s] antics were so unreasonable that barely twenty [20] minutes into the deposition, his counsel asked for a break [so] he could speak with [Brown] about his demeanor.”
  • “When the deposition resumed, [Brown] began texting on his cell phone. Regardless of multiple requests from his own counsel, and from the undersigned, [Brown] continued texting.”
  • “After approximately 20-30 minutes, [Brown] required another break. When the deposition resumed [Brown] increased his level of obstructive behavior. At one point, [Brown] refused to answer any questions, instead saying ‘next question’ no less than 10 times.”
  • “Soon thereafter, [Brown] started announcing a countdown, starting at ‘five [5] minutes,’ and counting down the minutes thereafter. Before noon [Brown] left the conference room.

Thought he was throwing it away to be honest.
Yeah, I was expecting him to chuck it out the back of the endzone considering how close the pass rush was but I'm pretty glad he didn't. Now we just have to work out how to slow Aaron Donald for even half a second, preferably before the Rams offence gets going.

imagine how good the seahawks would be if they didnt waste a first round pick on a backup running back
We'd be the exact same team cos we'd have wasted it on someone else. Our first round pick this year is a healthy scratch. Our first pick the year before Penny never played in the NFL after an ATV crash and the one before that was Ifedi, who commits more penalties that any player alive. Our last first round pick that was a success was Irvin in 2012 and before that Earl Thomas in 2010.

in between Irvin and Penny Seattle only made 1 first round pick so that stat is meaningless

Hence me including the pick this year and the early second rounder from the year before Penny. We're great later in the draft but our first and early second picks are poor, Penny is one of the least worst we've made recently.

I don't think that's really a meaningful thing. Any player they can pick in the third can be picked in the first or second. If you just want to complain about bad picks in early rounds then fine fair enough. But it's still dumb to waste the pick on Penny.

Goff makes so many mistakes, that was such a beautiful play design on second down and he missed an easy one

The defence at the end of the game was fecking infuriating, every play seemed to result in Kupp picking up 8 yards and getting out of bounds to stop the clock. That and the 3rd and 2 playcall and the Carson juggle on the game winner aged me by like 30 years. Massive win considering the NFC West is looking like it might take a lot to win.

Some of the commentators/pundits on fox were saying they thought he was kinda throwing it away.
It looks like that because he gets the pass off with pressure in his face right before they're getting to him, but I think it was definitely intented for Lockett. Otherwise he'd throw it higher and not to the exact area where two Rams DBs are in coverage to potentially INT the ball. Just an absolutley insane throw.

Agreed.

Tbh @Charlie Foley don’t think it really matters. Both the Seahawks and Rams are better regardless of records.
Probably true. I kind of thought we’d be better if rams run away with the division anyway that they beat the seahawks twice and improve our wildcard shot but not sure even then would we finish with a better record than them.

Besides, aren’t you an Eagles fan?
And nope, 49ers fan. Though I care a lot more about basketball (since I actually played it growing up) than football.

Your eagles confusion is probably because I lived in philly for a few years while I went to law school-since all of my friends supported the Eagles I wanted them to do well especially once they got to the playoffs/super bowl-I especially don’t like the Patriots. I also warmed to how everyone elsewhere hated their fans. It’s different when you live in a big city like that: sure you meet some dickheads who fit the stereotype but “Eagles fans” also includes every normal person you meet who don’t make headlines or boo Santa. The night they won the Super Bowl was a lot of fun let me tell you. Because my parents moved a lot I’ve not been in the place of the team I want to win when they win something for a long time so it was exciting. (Not from Manchester, don’t live in the Bay Area anymore, don’t support Dublin despite living there most my life).

Having said all that...Now I’m out of the city I actually enjoy seeing them feck up, I just think about this one couple I hate who were really obnoxious about it all and how miserable they must be when they lose

Great tackling used to be one of the hallmarks of Seahawks defence but... this one doesn’t seem to be quite there yet.
