NFL Thread 2019

Baffled by the non-review on the PI. Maybe they just wanted to screw the Saints again.

We'd likely have found another way to screw it up but still. Maybe next time we can play in both halves.

If I'm not mistaken, wildcard round should be:

AFC
Patriots vs Titans
Texans vs Bills

NFC
Saints vs Vikings
Eagles vs Seahawks

I think the Niners make it out of the NFC now with homefield advantage. There was so much riding on this game for their Super Bowl hopes.
To be honest the bye week is the biggest bonus - gives players much needed rest and a few with additional time to return from injuries.

Wow, what a crazy finish. How'd Seattle get a delay of game coming off a timeout?
They didn't, Wilson had to spike on 1st down and the delay came as a result. No guarantee since we'd have gone passing on 2nd and 3rd down anyway and Lynch was 50% on 4th and 1 but still, infuriating. The non-review for PI annoys me more though, at least take a look at the obvious penalty. Would have had a fresh set of downs back at the 1.

Most annoyed that we wound up in another close game because we didn't do anything on offense until the second half. Will get overshadowed by the memes about Lynch and the 1 yard line but that's our biggest enemy. Can see it biting us again next week in Philadelphia.

Would be a good hire for them.

@Hephaestus I like your chances against Philly. Prolly the only team ravaged by more injuries than yourselves.
Yeah, that will help us, hopefully we'll have Diggs back as well as he's made a huge difference to us when fit. But Wentz seems to have stepped it up since we played them earlier in the year and I can just see it being a repeat of last year, our offense stalling before we let Wilson off the leash when it's too late and they have a big enough lead.

Reckon Niners make SB. Think they beat Packers in championship game.

Assuming Hawks and Saints win, Packers play Saints at Home and Hawks go away to 49ers. If the Hawks do upset the 49ers....then they come to Lambeau for the conference game. Lots still can happen. But we need to beat the Saints and being at Lambeau helps.
Fair. Seahawks really could / should have won yesterday despite not turning up in the first half, so playoffs could be different.
One thing for sure, NFC much more interesting than AFC

Why did the Seahawks take so long with that try? Was there any obvious reason or was it plain amateurish?

The latter I think. No excuse with not getting a play called in time, especially since everyone in the whole stadium knew what should be run. Falls on the offensive coordinator imo. Fant getting banged up on the play before didn't help, but really there's no excuse.

Either way. That led to a pretty intense sequence of events. What a way to end the regular season.

The NFC playoffs are going to be good. I feel anyone can upset anyone in those games.

Just watched seahawks 49ers. I get there was a lot going on but a delay and losing 5 yards is just inexcusable. And, even ignoring that, clock management was terrible too. They had time outs and a lot of time on the clock at the 30/40, clock should never have been an issue.

Before I forget, pour out some liquor for Eli. Those 2 Sbs are 2 of the best memories of my life.

My Playoff Picks:

All road teams except for the Vikes win next week.
Bills over Texans
Titans over Pats
Seattle over Eagles
Saints beat the Vikes

49ers over Seattle
Saints over Packers
KC beats Bills
Ravens beat the Titans

49ers win against the Saints and Ravens beat KC. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens win it all.

Oh I hope so. To have such an amazing season and not win it all would be gutting.

I've put my fantasy winnings on the Saints, with a personal hedge on the Patriots.

Almost identical except I’m taking Bills over Texans and Eagles over Hawks

Jerry Jones just fired everyone Garrett and the entire coaching staff if reports are true .

Either he will now officially do everything himself or he really is cleaning house .

Hoping for Lincoln Reilly

Everyone sleeping on the Texans! JJ is back

McDaniels would be better. And is odds on favorite, or was last I checked. Just ahead of Urban and Lincoln.

They even fired Kris Richard?

I remember him being one of the favourites for the Dolphins Head Coaching job last season.
I really liked Richard's style in the couple of interviews I watched from him at the time.

Might be a little bit hasty/an overreaction, if they fired Garrett and the entire coaching staff - unless they got Lincoln Riley or Urban Meyer in the bag and the new hire wants to bring an entirely new coaching staff with him.

Schumer fired but Gettleman keeps his job. Oh Giants.
I don’t really know what more Schumer could have gotten out of this roster. It’s completely terrible. Baffling decision.

Not going for Nelson was one of the dumbest move that I have seen.

Fake news.
