NFL Thread 2014-2015

Jets nearly f*cked up and won, thankfully did what they do best in the end. Only problem is everyone else shit lost too.

The Seahawks look like they're in top form at the moment. Just in time for the playoffs.
Really? Offence is pretty ineffective.

I've never seen such quick 3 and outs with Philly's speedy offence though..

They are playing a pretty good team today, but have shown that late season swagger in recent weeks. They miss Harvin, but their Defense is definitely regaining its super bowl intensity. If they win out and get home field, it will be hard to beat them.

Niners - Raiders 10-10 at the half, it could go either way but knowing how poor we seem to be in the 2nd half of games, this isn't going to end well.

Hmmm I still don't think that our offence will be enough for a Green Bay or New England. I'd definitely agree that our defence is in top form though.

Anyway, I need to attempt sleep now. I shall check out the score in the morning.

Chip Kelly's moaning is on a Harbaugh level today also.

Apart from the Ravens winning, a very good day so far. Broncos doing the job against the Bills, Browns losing by a point and the Cardinals finally getting their act together against the Chiefs. If it stays like that then just needs the Pats (ugh) to get the job done against the Chargers tonight.

Don't have the energy to stay up for the Pats game. Important we win and keep control of the AFC #1 seed in our hands. Will be a tricky game but I'm confident we'll get the win.

Also hoping we see more of Blount & Gray this week. We're so much better with a balanced offense and power running to compliment Brady.

Asi sispected the Niners are crumbling in the 4th, yet another pathetic, lifeless, shit performance. just end this miseable twat of a season already!

Had a wee nap during the Colts game heh. Woke up just in time to watch the Revs feck up the MLS Final, again. Pats to cheer Beantown up, hopefully.

Why can't the Steelers be consistent, man? Blow out the Ravens, blow out the Colts, blow out the Bengals. Lose to the Bucs, lose to the Jets, lose to the Saints. Kills me. Have a first round bye in my standard league though and had 76 points sitting on my bench in Le'Veon, ODB and Martavis

Patriots are definitely the best team in the AFC. They will probably meet the Broncos in the AFCCG. It will probably be Seattle v Green Bay in the NFC.

Out of all the teams in the running for the playoffs in the AFC I'd be most worried about meeting the Ravens. I can't see Denver, Steelers, Bengals etc. going to Foxboro and winning.

Important win for the Pats! Decent schedule to end the year so I'm now very confident we'll be able to secure home field advantage through the playoffs.

The defense has been very impressive this season, and apart from really 1 big play against Rodgers before HT, they've done a great job containing the opposition QBs & receivers. With Jones coming back soon, hopefully our D gets even better.

I don't know what the contract situation is with Revis, but we should be signing him up on a new deal ASAP, he's been immense.

He's got another year on it, after that, well, you know the Pats.....

That's ok then, I thought it ended this year.

Still, the way he's played, I'd tie him down to a new long-term contract in the off-season. Arguably our best player this season and with him it's basically 'you go defend the best guy and everyone else will do something else.'

Pretty sure it's effectively a 1 year $12m deal because the second year is an option for $20m or something ridiculous just so he could claim the highest ever AAV for a corner

I can't envision Denver winning in New England in January. Could be another blowout win for the Pats. If Pittsburgh keeps getting that kind of performance from Bell, they could be a difficult matchup in January.

Same for Green Bay if they secure homefield, although Seattle is probably that one side that could win in Wisconsin. The shitty part about the NFC is a good side (Dallas, Detroit or Philadelphia) will miss out so a shit NFC South side gets in at sub .500. And host a first round game. fecking travesty.

As for the game last night, I'm all for player safety and all, but I felt the ref got the Browner call incorrect. Ref played off the reaction of the offensive player not the play itself. Granted it happens at full speed and from certain angles it can look illegal. The NFL might as well eliminate all hits on receivers in such case. Defensive players are already at a massive disadvantage with the rules. That play took seven points off the board for New England and could have ultimately been a big factor in the final outcome. Fortunately, the Pats won out.

The officials review all scoring plays so why not that one?

A quick look at the replay would have left them in no doubt that Browner led with his shoulder.
