NFL Thread 2014-2015

That turned into a massacre, congratulations to Peyton Manning though.

Yep - if there's one QB you don't want to be going up against with a patched up D it's him. Not good missing 75% of your LB unit - particularly when those 3 that you are missing are Pro Bowl caliber players in Smith, Bowman and Willis.

Thankfully we now have a bye week, so that should allow us to get a couple of players back - such as Willis and Brock (although he played yesterday, I think he only did that because Culliver was injured as he has been out since week 1. Then just waiting on Smith and Bowman to come back...

In itself it wasn't that stupid. Edelman has proven to be a very very good replacement, for a lot less money, and when Welker left they had Edelman, Amendola who everyone thought would be very good with Brady throwing to him, Gronk who wasn't injured all the time, and pre-killing spree Hernandez (who was an extremely good player)
The thing is Patriots could use someone like Welker right about now. Someone who knows the system and knows Tom Brady better than any other receiver. Edelman isn't even close to being as good as Welker. Brady aint getting any younger. He is like Manning. He needs to win NOW but unfortunately he wont win another ring unless the rest of the league has a meltdown in the playoffs, which is unlikely. God knows what happened to Amendola. We can literally count the number of receptions he has with one hand this season. Loss of Hernandez was huge and with Brady taking a pay cut this year, the organization hasnt done enough to get him proper attacking options. Gronk is a proper receiving option but if teams double team him, then you are down to Edelman and Lafell.

Yea the bye week is ideal now, although we come back to a tough game against St. Louis, but like you say if we can get a couple of players back and Brock rested up we can get back to winning.

We can't really afford another loss if we are to make the play offs IMO.

I would have agreed 2 weeks' ago but they're looking a lot sharper offensively since then. Tim Wright is a viable target and Tyms might be useful as a deep option. As for Edelman v Welker: Welker also had Moss in the same unit and Gronk & Hernandez in it towards the end of his time at the Patriots. Welker rarely had to carry the load himself. Edelman's had nothing next to him because Gronkowski's been injured so much.

Agreed on Amendola, though. TD against the Jest notwithstanding he's been virtually anonymous. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to trade him before next week and get some depth at linebacker.

WOW. With a little more than 2 minutes to go in the half it was 13-3. Now its 24-13 to end the half. I have never seen anything like this.

That cruel Fitzpatrick, he gives you hope and then snatches it away in one cruel sweep. I could live with imbeciles like Geno Smith who will make no secret of letting you down but its the hope that kills you.

Chandler Jones apparently out for a month. Big loss, especially with really tough games coming up in the next 5 weeks.

Atlanta en route to Barcelona..

Big game tonight, Broncos walkover again?

Hopefully the Chargers can pull off a shock win.

Another fecking stupidly late Broncos game. Gutted I didn't get to see Manning break the record and now I'm gonna miss another, but an 01:25 start is just too late.

I wouldn't mind on a Saturday night, but weeknights? Ffs.

Just noticed the wembley game kicks-off at 1:30pm UK time. Should be a good game.

Impressive and confident start by atlanta's offense.
