NFL Thread 2014-2015

Stupid penalty stops a beautiful catch.

I think they need to do like 10 yards in 4 tries... right? I just don't get what it means by "1st down..." etc.
Yes you get 4 tries to advance 10 yards - first down, second down, third down and fourth down. 1st down means the first play. Lets say you start at the 20 yard line. The first play you run is the first down and it will first and 10, which means its 1st play and you have 10 yards to go to keep possession of the ball. If you advance those 10 yards, then you are the 30 yard line and it becomes first down again.

Just popped in to say that Giants avoided 0-6 this season. See y'all next.
They need Rashad Jennings running like today every week to take the pressure of Eli. If he continues to throw 30-40 passes, he will continue to get picked off. The offense is the problem for you guys. Defense is alright.

Yea, and the protection for Eli. He does throw interceptions, but the amount of shit this offense keeps serving up is atrocious. Passes dropped, deflected interceptions, no protection and no running game means he has to take riskier chances. Looks like the team is getting used to this West Coast offense (much like Man Utd lolzy). We don't need a monster running game, but 2 yards per carry helped nobody. If the RB's can come up with some nice plays now and then just to provide some variation, we won't be so predictable having the QB throw to receivers all the time and our defence would spend less time on the field.

That said, 0-2 isn't bad. If we beat Redskins, we'll be 2-2 with Cowboys coming up next. Eagles look some team though.

Steelers have been the better team, but only up by 6. Think it's now 9 quarters without a TD for them!

Newton doesn't look right at all. That ankle is restricting him.

Your offensive line is some of the shittiest Ive seen in recent years. Eli isn't a terrible QB but when under pressure he doesn't make the brightest decisions. And yes your offense aint helping him either with fumbles and dropped passes. But today could be start of something. In your division, its anyone guess who is coming second behind the Eagles.

I see. Clears it up quite a bit. I've been watching college Football mainly. It's not much different it it?

You're right about everything, but I rate Eli a bit more. I'm biased of course, but I think he's not just a 'not terrible QB', I think he's a great QB. He's not Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, but give him some protection like any QB needs and he'll win you games.

Something about Cutler and the Bears playing on Monday nights. They are 8-1 I think since Cutler took over as QB.

Turns out there are 2 Brandon Marshalls in the NFL. The Bronco's linebacker Brandon Marshall got a load of abuse last night which was meant for the other one, mainly about losing fantasy teams. I'm not sure why I found these tweets so amusing but people were genuinely angry with him for tweeting when he "should" be playing

The west coast offense is doing wonders for both Eli and the Giants. They are playing really really well and it helps when your opposition QB throws 3 interceptions in a quarter.

Even though I was supporting the Giants this game, I feel for Cousins. He is a better QB than that. But his decision making was poor especially the last interception he threw. With the game over and your pocket closing in, why would you even try a huge 40-60 yard pass?

Yeah, but I guess this will make Cousins stronger. He's a good QB, but he's only starting his career.

So the 2nd seed in the division is between the Giants and the Cowboys and for now, it looks like the Giants might take it.

 People take this fantasy shit way too seriously.

It has actually made watching the games with some people I know unbearable. They no longer actually care about the outcomes of the game, only how the player performances affect their fantasy teams. To listen to some idiot getting mad when his favorite team score because the 2nd string RB scored instead of the WR he has on his fantasy team is really too fecking much.

No different to people betting on the next goalscorer and shit in football then going ape when the left back scores for the first time in 8 years......markets America really doesn't give, and a huge portion of fantasy players will be doing it for money.

Any one going to the International Series on Sunday? I am at Old Trafford tomorrow and Wembley on Sunday. Absolutely buzzing :D

I'm going to be skint on Monday though.

Why does that matter? Flacco is one of the worst QBs to win the Superbowl. It doesn't change the fact that he won.
