NFL Thread 2014-2015

I really dont think winning two superbowls is irrelevant.

He was on the team that won the super bowl. He didn't win them.

Manning was 19/34 for 255 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT in the first one. The defense held the greatest offense ever under 300 yards. That's what won the Super Bowl. We wouldn't even be having this conversation if Asante Samuel didn't drop the interception with a minute left. Or if Tyree didn't make a miracle catch. In the second game he threw 40 passes and finished under 300 yards while the defense again stepped up.

Super bowls are not the way to determine QB ability. Eli is not better than Peyton. Brad Johnson is not better than Dan Marino. Trent Dilfer is not better than Warren Moon.

But Eli is better than Romo. Romo couldn't putt it off when his defence is firing for 4 games in a row, clutch counts.

We wouldn't be having this conversation if the New England defense sacked Eli and didn't allow him to somehow squirm away and throw the ball to Tyree either.

Nobody says Eli is better than Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. We're not talking about Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers either. Never mind the superbowl rings, let's talk about the number of post season wins. You've clearly lost it.

Would the 49ers be a better team if Alex Smith was still their QB? I think Smith is a better and a more accurate passer than Kaep but the later offers more to the game since he can take off with his running game.

Also if you are the owner of a team, would you have Smith or Kaep as your QB?

I can't believe we have to do this again.

Eli has a worse completion percentage.
Eli throws less touchdowns.
Eli throws more interceptions.
Eli throws for 14 more yards per game.
Eli throws for less yards per attempt.
Eli throws has a worse QBR.
Eli runs for less yards.
Eli fumbles far more often.

Literally the only thing Eli is better at is 14 more yards per game.

Eli > Romo for me too.

Anyone been at the NFL on Regent Street thing today?

Lets go Raiders - if i wasn't revising id be there this afternoon.

Looking for a big game from Carr.

Was looking forward to the Pats game, only to realise it's the MNF game :(

Looking forward to the Wembley game. Would watch on C4, but Colin Murray is a twat so sky for me...

Edit: MNF coming to Sky

This is like the Super Bowl HT show - unbearably bad but the producers love it for some reason :wenger:

Great catch to start the game. Come on Raiders!

Nice drive. That will please the stadium fans (except the Miami ones, obviously)

London was so full of NFL attire today by the way. All shirts and hats all day.

Can't tell if the Lions have been awful or if the Jets are actually kind of good

I know what the stats say about the Jets' defense, but it seems like there has been a lot of sloppy play from an offense that wants to be deemed elite

Oakland should be banned from future wembley games. Awful.

Denis Allen is a bit like Moyes - been a bit screwed over in the FA market by the GM but ultimately doesnt look like he can lead this team.

They showed this crap instead of RedZone...:wenger:

And another Miami TD...

Edit: nope. Penalty.
