NFL Thread 2013-14

Absolutely right to go for it on 4th down!! You never know how many chances you are going to get - settling for FGs will not get it done!

Fantastic start by the Niners on offense and defense. Now need to keep it up.

Great play by Wilson - tough to keep the receivers covered for that long!!

But also a great stand by the D to hold them to a FG.

Although we have started well, our offense is all about Kap's running at the moment. Boldin has dropped 2 passes already - both of which should have been caught. Don't think Crabtree has managed to engineer much separation. Hopefully our passing game improves...

5 sacks. Pass protection sucks. Receivers don't get free unless Wilson extends plays. This game is turning out to be quite the slog.

Stupid penalty to give away.

Edit: oh they keep the ball! Doesn't matter too much. HT.

Niners D has been superb so far but their lead is only 7pts.

Wilson needs to stop running backwards so often.

Exactly. I think so far they have been the much better team - but the difference is only 7 points.

We are putting Wilson under a lot of pressure - although he has been able to extend plays - particularly the long pass play that set up their FG.

My heart did stop when Kap dropped the ball...although nice footwork for him to kick it to Goodwin!!

Clear grounding. Take 5 years to make the call.

I know! The refs said he went out of the pocket (which I don't think he did) but the throw was well short of the line of scrimmage! No idea why it took them so long to make the call!

They have screwed up 2 calls so far - the illegal hit on Whitner in the 1st quarter, and not giving the roughing the kicker call on the Niners last drive.

Poor D, nice throw, great catch. Seahawks lead!

I thought the kicker call was accounting for the momentum from the tackle. Or something.

TD Seattle

They explained it pretty well - if you hit the standing/plant foot, then its 15 yards. If you hit the kicking foot, then its 5 yards.

No idea how they missed that one.

Seattle finally take the lead. Nice to see Kearse, a UDFA from UW, making a big catch for the team.
