NFL Thread 2013-14

So many things not going for the Patriots. Manning having a great game, receivers not catching balls, Brady overhitting his throws... that said they can definitely force overtime, if their defense makes a big play.

Ugh, they really need to work on the onside kick technique.

The problem with that JP is most Pats fans knew this would be an uphill battle.

Half of the teams best players are missing.

Most teams would have folded and won 8 games.

I'm only having a laugh anyway mate. Don't get me wrong though, I don't like the Pats at all, so it's enjoyable to watch for me. I've had my fair share of piss taken out of me this season believe me!

That and the Broncos/Seahawks is the Superbowl I want to see.

Well that adds more misery to a truly shit day.

Well done Denver. Best team today, best team in the AFC. Manning was superb.

With the Pats out, I'll be supporting the NFC team in the SB. I hope they destroy Peyton and his fecking constant 'OMAHA!' shouting. cnut.

This. Its not as though I dislike Manning but despise the media infatuation with him.

Yep, same as myself. Will be supporting the NFC team for the SB. I hate all the omahas. Better team won today, our season is over but like I said before not a bad season in the circumstances. Just a shame it ended as it did tonight.

Why the feck is Eli smiling? feck off

Commiserations to the Pat fans on here, not been the best of days coupled with the United loss. Still has been an excellent season for you guys, considering all the setbacks, injuries (and arrest)

Denver were excellent, especially Manning. Welker looked like he had a point to prove.

I think given our injury situation, we did a very good job this year. Defense was decimated throughout the season but we still fought hard and the likes of Jones & Collins showed their potential. Hopefully next year we can keep Talib and add another top-class CB to further improve the D.

Brady, for all his struggles early this season with the rookies still had a good season. Wasn't at its best today but we have a very good running game between Ridley, Blount & Vereen and Brady is still Brady. Edelman had a good season, Dobson impressed me. I think Thompkins needs to get more involved, he looks a good player and Amendola really needs to offer a lot more as the #2 receiver. There were rumours earlier this year of the Pats trading for Fitzgerald, if we could get him and keep Gronk fit then that should be enough to be legitimate SB contenders. But we definitely need improvement at WR.

Overall a better season than I expected but obviously disappointed to lose in the AFC game again. As the scousers say, next year is definitely our year!!

Over the last couple of weeks, I've come to rather like Peyton Manning. Seems like a top competitor and alright guy, plus an excellent player. His face is still kind of annoying though.

A class WR/TE and CB should enable the Pats to make another run next season. Amazing what was achieved with so much wrong. A mostly fit team should be at this game again next season.

Hope the NFC team wins now.

Great start for the Niners. Get a score and shut these fans up...

Exactly. With a decimated team, the AFC championship game is a great achievement. It all started with Aaron frikkin Hernandez getting himself arrested. After that it was all down hill for the roster.

Any other team and that would have been a touchdown.

One weakness the Niners have in my opinion is we settle for FGs too often in the red zone. We really need to make the most of our opportunities if we are going to win today.

Get the feeling turnovers are going to be big in this game. Seattle's offense needs some favourable field position and Kaepernick loves to throw picks against that defense, so we'll see.

As the commentators said, his speed is so deceptive. Harbaugh said the other week that he takes off on what looks like a 5 yard run, and suddenly has picked up 20 yards!

Think the TD will be overturned...
