NFL Thread 2013-14

Giants have done a great job stopping AP.

I really wish Sky or BBC had the MNF games, fecking sick of these adverts.

Ah, meant C4 not the BBC. BBC was truly dreadful.

Awful, awful throw. He shouldn't be playing this game, clearly not ready.

These QBs and offenses suck. I'm going to sleep.

Elite should've been picked off at least 2 times this game.

Edit: ooh, something interesting.

I've tried, but I cannot find a gif that properly illustrates my mood during and after this game. Jesus christ, we SUCK. Please fire this goddamn coaching staff.

If any team hires Musgrave as OC after he's done here (please for feck sake let him be done in Minnesota) they need their fecking head examined.

That FG rule... rumors were flying from Skip and Steven A about Rob Ryan crying to officials during the Pats/Saints game and most likely relayed that info to his brother before their game against the Pats. It was also stated that Rex can be seen telling officials on a prior FG attempt and perhaps the officials watched closely on the last FG.

I would like to see how many times this will be enforced this season. It's also ridiculous that the Jets have now won two games thanks to last second penalties that gave them FG shots.

Best hit of the season so far...

That happens in every football game, even down to the high school level. Before the game, the officials meet with the coaches and ask them about the game. They ask for trick plays (is a normally ineligible receiver going to be eligible? is there a double reverse that could have the backjudge getting in the way? etc) and the coaches point out things that they think should be called on the other team. Hardly unusual.

The latest Suh incident... he lead with his helmet straight into the QB's chest/torso area... seems a targeting incident yet people are coming to his defense this time around. Yet I see an illegal hit, or at least that's how I understand new NFL rules on leading with crown of helmet (granted it's not being called much from what I have gathered).

Schefter saying the Rams called up Favre to ask if he would be willing to play for them. He declined.

Meanwhile Tebow is somewhere still waiting to see if someone will call him...

Next year's Wembley games have been announced:

Dallas - Jaguars
Detroit - Atlanta
Miami - Oakland

I expect them to sell-out, but those 3 games are pretty poor.

Surprised Jerry is selling out like that. It must be a road game he's giving up and the Jags a home game. I can't envision Jerry giving up all that revenue a home game brings him.

Yep it's a home game for the Jags. Unless I'm wrong, they're bringing their team over for the next 4 years (including this weekend).

Mike & Mike have brought up, along with Stephen A and Skip, that the Jets got away with the same penalty the Patriots were flagged for. This was late in the 4th quarter when the Pats tied the game. However, Skip said that if the penalty had been properly enforced on the Jets, it would have been first down at the NYJ 11 with about 15 seconds left. Brady would have had 2 shots at the end zone. Intriguing.

God I hope we obliterate the Dolphins today, a big win would be nice.

No Talib again :(

Brady's been too quiet the past 3 weeks. With Amendola back, he now has his main receiving options available. No excuses today, we have to win.

Edit: just realised the games all start an hour earlier now with the clock change. Stupid winter timings

They really need better pre-game music. Just show the cheerleaders than this crap.

Also, looks like there's quite a few empty seats. And after hearing this crap, they'll be more empty seats. Truly awful music.

feck, Brady throws an interception already.

TD Miami, this could be a long afternoon for the Patriots :(

Pats doing what they do best in a rut, running the hurry up offence and its working a hell of a lot better, Miami not getting set properly at the moment when they go no huddle.
