NFL 2024 | Divisional Round

The insecurity is that you feel the need to defend against anything remotely negative about the chiefs. It’s probably sensible not to care what people on the internet think about you, but when people are constantly telling you that they’re having to mute you, it might be good to have a bit of self awareness about it for the sake of everyone else’s enjoyment in the thread.

Anyway, I’ve said my bit, I’ll get on with enjoying the game.
I ultimately just don't care that I've ended up riling people who have been rather unpleasant towards me. I'm well aware of how everything I post will be received, and I'm personally okay with it. If you think me repeatedly posting about what I believe to be obvious bullshit is some form of insecurity then that's also fine.

Thanks for the patronising life lesson though. Great stuff.

Most people here haven't been unpleasant to you at all. Can you stop man.

Rival fans unpleasant toward each other, shocker.

Tbf, it probably doesn't help when your team keeps getting bashed week in week out. You are bound to see extreme opinions when that happens.

Let's just move on from this

I didn't say most people. You replying to a post not directed at you is what's prolonging this rather boring topic of conversation which I'd rather move on from too.

You clearly addressed that post at the thread in general. And it's toxic af to be honest. You're saying you don't care about derailing this thread as long as you rile back people who riled you. Textbook wumming.

It's time to stop.

Are you going to ask a moderator to ban me again?

I don't think most people actually have been.
Maybe so, but I’m not in this thread often however I’m around it in real life, and most of us aren’t getting sensitive about it like a certain one on here. It’s like a slightly more annoying version of Pats fans, only without hearing a memorized assortment of arbitrary stats.

When did I ask before? I've only asked the one time tonight because you need to stop.

Are there caf rules about publicly calling out someone who reported you, by the way?
I believe I have misremembered it and frankly it's so off topic that I shouldn't have drudged it up anyway. You didn't ask for me to get banned and I was wrong to state you did. I apologise for my mistake.

As for the other stuff, who knows. Maybe you'll get your wish.

Guys, gals, and everyone else… the reason this thread received votes the Thread of the Year awards repeatedly - when those still existed - was not because of the drama, but the lack of it.

This thread, the Anyone Recommend Me Any TV Shows, Movie Review, random video game simulation involving dozens of random fools by some lovely fool…they are the lifeblood of the Caf.

Honestly this used to be such a nice thread, but I guess the number of people posting was much lesser as well but just like the London NFL games the mood of the thread used to be very friendly

I think whilst it's true that Andrews lost the game at the end, you can't just ignore that lamar had an absolutely horrendous interception and a very poor fumble. In such a big moment against a very good team two turnovers are likely to be massive. He played well overall but I am not sure how people can say oh well you can't blame lamar for this.

I mean Ravens failed to convert a 1st & goal from 2 yards out, it’s hardly fair to say Andrews cost them the game.

What these divisional games showed us is that you can be just functional offensively, but as long as you don’t turn the ball over you are good. Allen had a quiet game by his standard but he protected the ball well and took what his defense gave him (the rushing TD off Lamar’s fumble)

Yards only tell part of the story. The loser of each division game, lost the turnover and/or penalty battle (in the case of the Texans it was just penalties as there were no turnovers). Gotta limit mistakes when the stakes are highest.
Absolutely. Game manager is taken as a negative thing but it's such an important skill in the playoffs

The Eagles Rams game made me believe that we will probably see NFL going fully indoors within the next couple of decades. Maybe I am wrong but I am not sure it's right to play such a long regular season and then have your season come down to a lottery game. With climate change it's likely things will get worse weather wise so can see most teams turning to a dome

Oh my. Tough one there for the Ravens.

I’m sure we will see lots of the lazy “Lamar Bottled It” storylines. And yes, the INT was rather wtf and the fumble was avoidable. But those two Mark Andrews drops along with the Andrews fumble were far more important in the context of when they happened.

Still, you make any turnovers in the playoffs against a team as good as the Bills, and you’ll lose. The Bills just seem so in rhythm. Not trying to take more than what’s there. Making good decisions. And in doing so, playing clean turnover free football. They’ll need to repeat that at Arrowhead in a week.

I thought both teams played well, and it was a tight game. I don’t think it’s an indictment to the Ravens or Lamar. Sometimes you do a good job and you still get beat by a better team. I don’t think the Bills are necessarily better, but as I said at the top, turnovers and errors in big moments kill you. And that’s partly on Lamar (but I wouldn’t say he “bottled” it, he still played well) and certainly on Andrews.

I don’t think it’ll go quite fully indoors but overall yes, certainly the trend of new stadiums in colder climates is going to be covered for sure - although I do think that’s mostly to be able to hold a Superbowl and also for general fan experience - rather than to mitigate gameplay uncertainty.

You’ll probably have a few teams who won’t roof or rebuild even in the next few decades for sentimental reasons (Packers? Chiefs?) and you’ll probably have a few southern teams who don’t see the need. But open stadiums will be the anomaly for sure.

Which makes it even more bizarre that the MetLife wasn’t built as a roofed stadium. Will never understand that. New York would have inherently been a magnet for Superbowls too.

Yep. Lamar had the time and the opportunity to make up for the mistakes, and did with a solid performance after the errors in the first quarter but it's a team sport and big moments in the last quarter that were out of his control cost him the comeback
