NFL 2024 | Super Bowl LIX

United and Cowboys fans are probably very much alike in a lot of instances, which is funny because Cowboys fans are often ridiculed on here.

Historically great, lots of non-local gloryhunters, have been shit for at least the last decade or even more.
The difference is that Jerry really tries to win. Hes just totally incompetent when it comes to actually trying to achieve those goals. The Glazers, on the other hand, really don't give a crap about United and are only in it for the money.

United are the Patriots

Dominant for large periods of time only to turn to utter shite.

United and cowboys is actually the perfect comparison. Biggest clubs run by clueless owners and living on past glory.

No Edgerrin Cooper as DROTY candidate and no Xavier McKinney as DPOTY. Feels a little harsh on the Pack.

Lamar will win MVP, but it should probably go to Barkley, and that's coming from someone who dislikes the Eagles.

It has been something like 14 years in a row that a QB has won MVP.

@Eboue @altodevil @RobinLFC ill leave this one to you folk
Yeah he really added so much extra value to the 14-3 Eagles who went… 11-6 and 14-3 in their previous two seasons. Even in his own division, Jayden Daniels was 100x more valuable to the Commanders than Barkley was to the Eagles.

I don’t even get why he’s the seemingly unanimous pick for OPOTY. 2k yards sure but Chase convincingly won the triple crown which has been done by even less players than rushing for 2k yards since the 1970 merger.

Yeah let's listen to the moronic condescending Liverpool fan for his opinion on Saquon Barkley when not too long ago he was talking up Goff being MVP.

Maybe because of consistency. Saquon had less than 100 scrimmage yards in just 3 games. And less than 100 rushing yards in just 5 games.

Chase had less than 100 yards in 11 games

I would be surprised if he does tbh, the noises all year have been Allen. Think it’s Allen MVP with Lamar as OPotY, that’s the reason the former wasn’t included in the latter category imo.
Lamar was the first team all-pro QB and it's the same voters for MVP, feel like he's heavy favourite to win now.

I was of the same thought process but Allen is the bookies favourite and they are rarely wrong

Would be strange for him to win MVP while not being first team all pro

I don't really have a problem with both, I think Lamar is probably a bit more deserving but recency bias might give the edge to Allen this time around. Exactly the same with Jokic and SGA in the NBA I feel.

Absolutely ridiculous that Saquon gets the MVP nod ahead of Jayden Daniels by the way. The latter turned a shite franchise into a playoff team in his first season.

Lamar has just had one the best season in history for a qb.

If you were doing mvp correctly it should be Daniels above everyone probably.

11/1 on Skybet for Chiefs to win and Kelce to and to propose to Taylor afterwards. Throwing a fiver on that.

You can also bet on the "Winning coach Gatorade shower colour" and also who will the MVP mention first in their speech. God is favourite.

Saquon turned a team that lost 6 games in a row to end the season into a superbowl team....

At this point lamar shouldn't win MVP just for how embarrassing it would be. It's like if Embiid won the NBA MVP multiple times.

Which was a SB team the season before that as well…

Barkley has had an amazing season. And if we were to draw up a list of players most valuable to their team he wouldn’t be top 10, both can be true.

Even a guy like Tua is more valuable to his team, as shown every time he was absent in the last few years. The position is too important and influential not to give MVP to a QB, that’s just how it is and that isn’t an indictment on the sort of season Barkley or any other RB has had in the last few years.

Anyone else think that Mahomes will at least tie Brady's mark for 7 Super Bowls? My brother thinks I'm crazy for thinking it will happen.
He very well might, especially if he gets to four on Sunday. Brady didn't even win his fourth until he was 36 years old.

Yeah very well could - one or two pretenders need to step up. Brady went 10 years without one. That won't happen in this NFL.

I dont think he goes 10 years without a SB like Brady, but I dont see him playing until 45 either, so who knows, if he wins on Sunday and get to 5 or 6 somewhere around his mid-late thirties most people will consider him the goat, even if Brady still has more rings.

All Pats fans supporting the Eagles then I guess
I surprisingly don’t have any animosity to Mahomes or any desire to see him not catch Brady.

For me, he’s already in the GOAT conversation. The only thing missing is longevity but he’s proven consistency and all the intangible skills. And what he doesn’t have in longevity (yet), he has in incredible physical talent.

Who is the ultimate GOAT is more than just rings and also comes down ultimately to what skills and attributes you value most compared to what someone else may value most.

He’s already earned the right to be in that conversation and if anyone said Mahomes was the GOAT, I don’t think it’s an obscene opinion. And that’s coming from a Brady / Patriots fan.

I'm assuming Josh Allen is the MVP considering he's turned up to the ceremony and Lamar hasn't. But maybe I shouldn't read too much into it because Lamar never turns up after December.
