NFL 2024 | Divisional Round

59 years and one of the oldest teams in the NFL still waiting to make a Super Bowl. That’s rough especially when these windows are so short lived.

The Lions just can't have nice things, can they?

It's Goff who has cost them the game. He just isn't that guy, Rams knew it, now Lions will too.
Definitely not him. He’s part of it ,yes. But 45 points and counting at home says otherwise.

Nope.

Our defense has been way over performing til today though. In a way we should have never been in this position but the O papered over the cracks. But can't win if you have so many turnovers.

I rue the loss to San Fran last year more than this loss.

Can't help but be slightly miffed at fecking Kingsbury making moves in the playoffs.

Ben Johnson stock following Darnold off a cliff

Lions have put up 31 points with an offense committing four turnovers, only one perhaps on the OC for the call yet the player should not force it when nothing is open. It's Glenn who's stock should be fall, his defense has sucked today - the same ravaged defense that kicked Minnesota's ass all over the field two weeks ago.

My worst coaching nightmare may unfold if Washington carry on to the SB. Jerry will suddenly have a boner for Kliff Kingsbury. He may see it this way just on tonight's showing. Feck.

im not talking rationally, but big off season moves/money stories coming into the playoffs was darnold getting paid and Johnson getting the team of his choice. Darnold obvious reasons, but these owners jump on anything. I wouldn't want to be Johnson going into meetings post this game having to explain this. Again not rational, but these owners just react based off the last bad thing.

So, if Eagles win tomorrow, you'll be rooting for us?

Hard to believe that if the Rams win tomorrow then LA gets another home playoff game. Don't believe in narratives but it seems written in the stars

What is the receiver going down a yard short there? Get the first and drop down.

Then there's a Lions player deep downfield and waiting on him to run back to the line. No, sub him out and get a guy on immediately. Feck.

Every Cowboy fan will be, but if it was the 70s or early 80s then no way. Redskins were public enemy No.1.

Yeah, I despised Washington from my early NFL watching days in the mid-80s. NYG and Philly never mattered to me despite being good at times, especially the Giants in my early years. It wasn't until I joined the USAF and moved around and encountered legit Eagles fans that I realized just how abhorrent that fan base was. Washington doesn't bother me these days, they were irrelevant for 30 years and lil Danny Snyder is gone so good for them. But Philly is straight vile.

Didn't get the same kind of fireworks in the second half, but quality game.

Dammit, what do you know, we won.

We won, we won, we won.

Woohoo! Woohoo! Woohoo!

....and the Warriors won too.

What a night!

Woohoo!

Nor really comparable situations, Darnold has been in the league since 2018, there were legitimate concerns whether this was a one off season or has he actually developed. With lions this is not the first time Goff has shit the bed with multiple interceptions this season.

I reckon it's Chiefs Ravens and Eagles Washington next week.

I know the feeling having had to root for Utd's rivals consistently this past decade

Hopefully Eagles don't feck up tomorrow and we can have Cowboys fans cheering for us
Hopefully not and we root for the Rams in their nice uniforms.

Johnson will still have his pick of the lot which, if rumors are true, might be Vegas instead of Jax. That would appear risky considering the QB and opposing QBs/coaches you’re inheriting in each situation, but…what do I know?

Goff has no business in that conversation.

He's a product of the offense. The Bills and the Ravens and the Bengals are a product of the QB.

I hate being right but I am. Goff is a mediocre qb who needs everything else around him to be elite. Johnson is gone. Glenn is probably gone. The defense will be healthier next year so improvement to help some of the decline on offense. I predict 11-6 and a loss in the wild card round next year.

I thought you were in Cali?
I'm actually in Tennessee, however I've been a fan of the Warriors, Redskins/Commanders (and Blue Jays) for over 35 years.

I've explained it all before (it's complicated).

....and Vols of course. Almost forgot them.
