NFL 2024 | Lions vs Vikings - Winner takes all

If the bengals can win this, the chargers are going to have to play everyone. Much rather play the texans than the ravens.

Running a screen on 3rd down to get a more manageable field goal when there's 3 minutes left and you are 5 points down is certainly an interesting call. It might just work as well.

Over to you, Jim Harbaugh. Are you gonna try to win with the starters or play the backups?

Chargers win and they are the 5 seed, go to Houston while the Steelers go to Baltimore. Flip the seeds if the Chargers lose.

You play your starters if you’re Harbaugh now imo, odds on favorite to win a WC game imo if they get Houston compared to big underdogs at Baltimore.

Still hoping Burrow sneaks into the playoffs. Worst case would be if the Broncos lose to the Chiefs backups and Miami wins, only to be blown out by the Bills once again next week. That said, I think the most likeliest outcome is a Broncos win at home.

Dolphins lose but Broncos win a much closer game than anticipated late

Even though it was a "comfortable" win for the Ravens (and would have been moreso had they actually kicked on some of those fourth downs) the persistent lack of discipline that has dogged the team since the Billick days continues unabated. And the drops were ridiculous.

Not a good way to go into the playoffs, I hope they up their game.

Drops were ridiculous. Must have been 6 or 7

I think 6th and 7th seed in the AFC aren’t winning at the Bills or Ravens.

Texans vs Chargers / Steelers could be the harder to call.

And then whoever wins that won’t beat the Chiefs.

So I can’t see anything other than a Ravens/Bills @ Chiefs AFC title game.

I really just can’t see any upset happening in the AFC.

Not too enthused about today's early redzone window. I'd expect it to be a routine win for the Buccs but you never know. With the Chiefs having nothing to play for I'd normally watch redzone in the late afternoon window but the game versus the Broncos is easily the most interesting and holds to most weight so I'll watch the full game.

Just an impossible week to predict betting wise. Not sure why I bother in week 18.

Did you pick the Lions or the Vikings?
Neither. I got Bills in the early window. Patriots seemingly don't want the #1 pick.

Edit: if I were betting on that game I'd go Vikings.

Not big into the details of NFL tactic: Can someone explain to me why these misdirection punt return/faking the wrong side (sometimes) work? Surely the punter tells his team beforehand to which side of the pitch he'll kick it, how can the opposing team "fake" their runs as if it goes to the other side?
Just happened in the Bears-Packers game.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire looks like he's been on a 5-a-day po'boy diet. He's gained a hell'a lotta weight.

ST defenders will normally just follow what the return team's players are doing rather than tracking the ball. These trick plays really shouldn't work because the kicking team should know when the play is called where the ball is going to end up. If it works it's a combination of dumb shit from the punting team and the returners being great actors.

Edit: this is my favourite one I've seen. Just so good.
