NFL 2023

That was not a reason on my list, but sure we can add it!

A quick summary:

Shady way they auto transferred subscriptions and automatically kept auto-renew arguing all the same features as before, but there aren’t.

Poor app functionality.

Poor customer service (for example the account page was down so I had to use chat to cancel subscription. It was down for weeks. It’s now conveniently back up after the auto renew date).

Reduction in live stream quality.

Reduction in volume of content.

Removal of games in 40 (seemingly) for the future

Removal of ability to download games to watch offline.
Are they really not going to bring that back?

I'm that starved of NFL action that I'm considering watching Patriots Vs Texans tonight.

The worst thing is that if DAZN implement ability to download games in 40, I’d probably swallow my pride and buy it. Thinking of that situation is already making me angry.

It'd be weird if they get rid of the game in 40, as they've carried over the game in 40 highlights for last season. I hope they don't.

1 to add to this, DAZN seem pretty hot on VPN usage, so can't get around those Sky Sports blackouts anymore. Seems that if you sign-up in the UK, you're locked into only ever being able to use it in the UK.

I regret complaining about the old Game Pass app.

First impressions of dazn app live streaming: Have to sit through a 30 second advert before the stream loads

Also CJ Stroud has looked utter shite in his first 2 drives. Threw an interception on his first one and threw an absolute howler that would have gotten his WR killed had it been a proper game in his second possession.

Anyone watched the Johnny Manziel doc on Netflix? Decent watch, even if it doesn't really tell you anything you likely don't already know. Bizarrely, it makes me sympathise with him a little more (with how he fell of the rails, not for the things he actually did), yet he also comes across as a bigger arsehole than I originally thought he was.

Hard to fathom how you can get drafted in the first round, and your immediate thought is "I don't want this".

Haven't watched it yet but I've seen some bits on Twitter.

That moment when the Browns called and he realized they could check that he watched the grant amount of 0.00 of tape on his tablet was genious

DAZN are doing games in 40, had the misfortune of watching Patriots vs Texans with it this morning

I watched it and it was decent enough, I think I expected a bit more. It made me watch the Manti Te’o story though. I always thought he made up the girlfriend, just a bonkers story.

I watched it a couple nights ago. Felt it was interesting but not as gripping as some of the other similar themed sports documentaries on Netflix. Still, gave some insight to the story. He is definitely a bit of a twat but he is who he is. It’s incredible how the Browns drafted him where they did given how obviously apparent his behaviour and personality seemed to be.

The Manti Te’o one was much better than this one I thought. Absolutely mad story as you say.

I don't know if I can stomach watching the race to QB1 between Mayfield & Trask over the next few weeks. Part of me just wants to first tune in on 9.10 & rip the Band-Aid off at once.

Don't worry: it'll be Geno/Lockett/Metcalf 2.0 with Baker at the helm. :p

Look up Todd Marinovich, ESPN had a 30 for 30 on him a few years ago. He was seemingly not really interested in all of it.

Might be passing through the States in September, going to try and catch the Dolphins Patriots game in week 2. In the prime time slot as well, think it would be pretty cool if it all works out. We will get smashed by the Dolphins though, mind.

Does anyone play draft kings at all?

Was going to skip Undisputed now Shannon Sharpe is out but the news that Richard Sherman is replacing him is drawing me back.

I don't think Skip Bayless will be get away with interrupting him the way he did Shannon

Niners backups were diabolical vs the Raiders on Sunday, Trey Lance was shocking, Darnold barely any better. The 3rd round kicker, who looked fantastic in camp suddenly got the yips, and the first TE they drafted looked like an utter clown. First pre-season game and all that but we'd better hope Purdy has recovered, and get Bosa signed up quickly, or it's not looking good.

Alex Collins died in a motorcycle crash in Florida last night :( only 28 years old. RIP

Horrible deal by the Jets as usual, signing a RB to such a hefty deal just to spell Hall at times.

Also the Niners need to trade Lance and they need to do it quickly before they ruin his entire career (and want to get something in return).
