NFL 2023

Game pass subscription cancelled. And will remain so until a download feature gets re-added. And there I was thinking it couldn’t be worse.

I am massively disappointed about that.

EDIT: Not yet actually cancelled because I can’t manage my subscriptions apparently due to a technical error. What is this scam?

I went through the same shit, the account page was “down due a technical error” every day for ages, and the live chat is only open for limited periods.

Eventually I got through to someone on the chat during the right hours and cancelled the auto renewal.

Unless no contender wanted him I’m not sure I understand why he’s going to the Titans?
Only Titans and Patriots offered him a contract, Titans offered him more it seems.

No app or service has ever actually made me as pissed off as I am right now. Tried to cancel through “Zed” who couldn’t connect me to an agent as none available. Actually shocking, coupled with the clear miss-marketing of “all the same features” on plenty of articles. The difficulty in cancelling (subscription page with tech issues an no agent and even if I get to an agent how do I know they actually cancel it?). How have they managed to take such a big step backwards?

So what is it exactly that they don't offer? Is your gripe that you can't download the games and have to stream them instead?

Correct. Which is a pretty big deal for me because I watch the games in 40 one on the way to work and one at home. And generally when I’m out and about. The app is pretty redundant for me at that price without this feature, although obviously understand it isn’t necessarily an issue for others.

But what’s really pissing me off is that they market it as “all the same features” but it’s clearly not. Content is reduced. Some articles on Reddit talking about reduced quality to 720p (which is archaic in todays age). And that cancelling seems to be a massive chore.

Yea I can see why that would be shit for some people who have commutes with bad signal or don't have unlimited data.

The app is generally fecking horrible as well.

It’s actually very scammy and seems legally dodgy to me that they just transferred an automatic subscription renewal to a totally different service provider without any consent from the user.

Yeah, that doesn’t seem right thinking about it.

Managed to cancel through the chat service. “Ronaldo” was the chaps name

The sad thing is it’s the only way I know to follow NFL. But I’ll have to instead somehow get access to RedZone now instead!

RedZone is usually on Sky Sports Mix which doesn’t require a Sports subscription, just basic Sky package if you have that or access to someone else’s Sky Go.

Is there a RB union or something? This seems coordinated

I feel bad for RBs man. They get run into the ground and especially Saquon had to do everything for our offense. But still, not giving in to his demands is the best decision Schoen could make. Even 12.5m for the most replaceable position in football is a lot, as harsh as that is. They definitely deserve to be paid their worth, but from a business perspective they're just fecked and it's out of their control. I'm sad he goes (assuming that since he won't play on the tag), but paying him could backfire so badly. Especially with his injury history.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post (illegal) streaming websites on here but I usually use "NFLBite". If you google that once the season starts you'll get plenty of good streams on there, they almost never stutter and the quality is very good.

Love that Schefter used the same tweet twice with just the name changed.

RBs getting no respect.

Definitely sucks to be a RB. They take a brutal amount of punishment as (relatively) smaller guys, create a lot of success for organisations, and then get shit on from a height by those same organisations. Can't see too many players wanting to be an RB at this rate.

Seconded regarding what Saquon has been for our offense.

I think they need to revisit how the franchise tag is used to limit the salaries of a whole fecking position. If you don't want to pay a running back, fine: don't use the tag to wring more out of them at a discounted rate and then dispense of them once they're past their best.

The NFLPA is useless so I see this getting worse and players looking to avoid the pure RB tag coming out of college.

It's rather odd to see a few analysts and former players coming out defending running backs and suggesting something should be done for RB pay. No one seemed to care about lack of pay for OL-men for decades.

Just the reality unfortunately. The marginal gain of an elite RB is just so cost inefficient that they’ll never be paid for their worth. There’s only a small handful of RBs who make the impact that would be worthy of consideration. And that only in the right setup, which is essentially limited to SB contenders.

Watching Quarterback on Netflix, 5 Eps in. Why is Mahomes' wife catching so much hate for this, and hate in general? She seems... ordinary?

It's decent so far, but wish they got a couple more QBs on board, it feels like they're stretching the material they have pretty thin.

The people giving her abuse already didn't like her for her various antics in the last few years (pouring champagne on fans and just going OTT during games which she then posts on social media) so they're latching onto anything she does in the doc. She's always been a bit of a bellend but is undeserving of all the negative press she gets. She's however married to the biggest name in the NFL who's genuinely a top bloke so the hate that would usually fall on him has landed on her and his more deserving cnut brother.

His brother is definitely a wrong 'un.

NFL memes on Twitter seem obsessed with her, but I've never seen why. There's nothing in this doc that makes her come across badly, but everything I've read seems to suggest she's the worst thing about it.

Kirk Cousins reminds me of Congressman Murray from Parks and Recreation who just sits in his office and stares at the wall. He seems to have a void of nothingness where a personality should be.

The bit where he started choking up as he talked about God was weird. I grimaced when he said to the backup QB "Hey, do you know what today is? An opportunity". That's Jake Humphrey levels of cringe.

It'll be a chore to watch this cnut of a human being in the league again this season, especially if he finds his Texans form again. I'll be actively rooting against the Browns in every game and hoping they go 0-17.

I was probably being overly harsh but her antics and screaming while the game is going on was what made me think it, to be honest I am probably not a fan of people like that in general to be honest so it may have been her or anyone else acted like she does and I'd think the same
