NFL 2023

I haven’t had game pass for 3yrs but they’ve sent me so many emails telling me I need to sign up to continue my membership that I am beginning to doubt the last 3yrs ever happened. They’re relentless.

Training Camp starts this month!!!

I'm 5'9, 145lbs so I don't have much of a choice but to take the $1m, but I bet there's quite a few people who believe they could gain the 5 yards :D

I will gladly take the one million right now.

First off, there is zero chance Regular Joe is gaining positive yards against NFL players. Reg Joe would likely be severely hurt by the third rush attempt. Second, unless there is some sort of medical insurance clause in the contract, you will be spending a significant amount of that money on medical costs, physical therapy, and probably a lifetime of ailments to treat. And you did not get the yards required to cash in so now Reg Joe is broken both financially and physically.

Saw someone reply that it's even funnier that a lot of people think they could complete a few passes in the NFL, while we had a D1 college QB (turned WR) play a full game as emergency QB a few years ago and he completed 1 (one) pass the entire game

I'd take the million, and then see if they were willing to let me attempt to gain 5 yds for a further sum. There is always the outside chance you get lucky with a gap, and having played a lot of rugby you get used to rolling with the blows from some absolute monsters

Id take that million then turn it into 10 by getting some betting tips from Colts players.

Lamar's hair is really impressive.

49ers offense, run directly behind Juzczyk. Surely we could squeak out 5 yards on 10 runs

You’re likely going to have to get 15/20 yards after the obvious tackles for loss though

If this is a net gain of 5 yards, there would be no chance. If you ignored the yards lost and just needed 5 yards gained gross, then it might be possible for some, depending on the O-line and the defense. Still, you'd probably be broken in half before you got there.

Nevermind the potential of having the ability of achieving 5 yards, I'll take the money over the unknown effects of the equivalent of 10 car crashes.

I saw the same question but it was about the NBA - would you take 1M now or 20M if you manage 15 points in an NBA game. An alarming number of people said they think they could get 15 points in a game. But between the NBA and NFL question, if I had to choose, I'm taking my chances at 15 points in an NBA game. I'd rather not get crushed under a pile of 300 pound blokes

It’s probably people thinking along the lines of “I could make 8 shots in a full game” without considering being defended against by a bunch of professional giants.

Although I guess in the NBA you could just keep trying to draw fouls and rack up free throws

That one is significantly more difficult, good NBA players don't guarantee that many points, bench players are almost guaranteed to not score that many points outside of above average shooters. In both cases taking the million is the safest option but 5 yards with 10 guranteed carries is doable as long as it's not behind a terrible OLine.

You also need the opposition defence to not know the scenario otherwise they know who’s getting every carry and you’d be mush with less than 2 seconds every snap.

I don't really follow. The idea isn't to give you 10 straight carries, unless the opposing defence knows your play in advance there is no reason for them to be more aware of anything than usual. I do agree on the athleticism part and the ability to break any tackle. Anyway both are pretty difficult but one requires to be an above average NBA player while the other is possible for way below average NFL athletes.

Womp womp.

Hope he lost more than just the money he was meant to make from it, along with every other celeb who jumped on that bandwagon with zero understanding to push scammy bullshit on their fans.

Agree totally.

Pre my ACL injury I'd have given the 10 million a go. If your line is able to block and provide a gap then you're a chance. I think playing Australian football for years conditions your body for big hits - not NFL calibre athlete hits of course, but some big hits without pads regardless.

Obvs who the best 7 is / was, but I could see a couple others in the mix for 'favorite 7.'

I don't get it. What's so bad about the tweet?
Maybe just me, but honouring the victims of a terrorist attach by discussing something as trivial (relatively) as favourite player to where the number 7 jersey seems rather disrespectful to me. Almost trivialises it.

They’re not honoring 7/7 from the terrorism perspective, they’re just honoring the fact that the date has two 7s in it.

I doubt they are aware of the significance of 7/7 and thought it's just another date on the calendar. Though they really should have been aware of it considering the sport is quite big in the UK now. The 'honor' bit is also unfortunate. Not nearly as bad as that German KFC ad about celebrating Kristallnacht with cheesy chicken

I mean it’s if enough significance that at least someone in the SM team surely thought “oh but…”
