NFL 2023

It's probably time to start making NFL refereeing a full time job & compensating them properly. Sure, it's seven refs per team, but the cost outlay would be infinitesimally small for the shield v. annual revenue.
How much are they paid? Google tells me an average of $200k a year. Surely that’s a full time job?

It's only the Pro Bowl, but this omission is a travesty. Don't see him not being at least a second team All Pro choice...

Another hat & tee shirt game for us this weekend. It's also a lidocaine shot & flak jacket game for Baker...

Gardner Minshew was rubbish. What should have been an easy 4th down pass with 1 min to go, became a difficult catch that the receiver was unable to pull off. 13/24 for 141 yards in perfectly decent playing conditions is so poor. So many of Minshew's throws were either to the wrong side of the receiver, too low or overthrown. Perhaps a couple that the receivers should have caught.

Colts were hopeless on 3rd down. Think they finally had a success in their final drive.

Spectacular throw from CJ Stroud on their first possession and another really good one to keep the drive going in Q4 that produced the game winning touchdown.

I cannot stress how happy I am that the Colts didn’t get in when they threw a 4th and 1 pass with the game on the line to a thing called Goodson when Taylor was borderline unstoppable on short yardage situations all game long.

Frustrated that the Ravens didn't do shit against the Steelers. Going to be a stressful game tonight :(

And so much dead rubber.
Disagree!

Early window has 6 games: Vikings can still make the playoffs and Lions are playing for the #2 seed, Buccs @ Panthers and Falcons @ Saints determine the outcome of their entire division (and hopefully Arthur Smith's departure). Jags @ Titans determines the outcome of their division as well, and Houston's seeding. Even Jets @ Pats has some implications about where the Pats can draft for a QB in April. Only Browns @ Bengals is without any significant implications imo.

Seven(!!!) games in the late window, Eagles and Cowboys are both playing for the division and seeding. Chicago travels to Green Bay in hope to keep their rivals out of the playoffs, and the Seahawks can still be in depending on the outcome at Lambeau. Only the AFC West games and Rams @ Niners are without significant implications.

Can't wait for tonight, both early and late window are evenly matched, which they'd do that more throughout the season.

Also Ryans vs Stefanski and Stroud vs Puka will be close ones for COTY and OROY imo.

SNF is also a real banger: the Bills can win the division with a win over Miami but if they lose and Jacksonville wins in Tennessee they are out of the playoffs altogether

My ideal scenario is that Buffalo and Tennessee win. Don't want the Jags into the playoffs and I'd rather see Stroud in a home game in the Wild Card round. The Bills can be dangerous as division winner as well and I want them to be in.

Ravens
Chiefs
Bills
Texans
Dolphins
Browns
Steelers (a bit meh without TJ Watt but okay)

Niners
Philly
Lions
Saints
Cowboys
Packers
Rams

Has the TJ Watt injury been confirmed?

Even from the dead rubber there are some games with intrigue; Niners vs Rams, local derby and battle of the gingers

Not sure, I saw some Twitter doc confirm that he'd be "out a few weeks" because of the severity of his injury. Didn't watch the game or injury myself.

Klopp really needs to have a moan about the really important things in his post-match presser, such as why they put us in the Redzone timeslot once again!

Last one for another 9 months guys! Enjoy it.

Not just that but wasting a timeout when trying to trick the defense to an offside call on 4th-and-1. Wasting that timeout crushed them when they inevitably failed to convert which cost them 40 seconds on the Texas possession which sees Houston not taking the safety thus punting downfield and giving the Colts decent field position with some time to run 4-6 plays. We were watching the game live and felt they should have thrown a pass on 3rd down. I felt they mismanaged most of that red zone series.

Also nice when Irsay is sad, cnut of a human being.

The touchback is in my top 3 of rules I want changed. It doesn’t make very much sense.

Just seen “suspected sprained MCL” which sounds both minor and season ending at the same time
