Guess all teams feel this way but the refs performance in the niners match was heinous. Some of the holding the Raiders got away with was filthy and as for that Adams “catch”, absolute bottle job from them.

More injures too with Banks and Greenlaw. Something not right around the club with this many major injuries. Amazing the team has done so well without RB1, WR1, QB1, QB2, CB2, for large swathes of the season, plus various other injuries.

Just had a look at my predictions before the start of last season. They were quite shit - only W was that I predicted Rams v Niners in the NFC Championship game and Micah Parsons as DROY.

NFC:
  1. Niners
  2. Buccaneers
  3. Packers
  4. Cowboys
  5. Rams
  6. Seattle
  7. Bears
AFC:
  1. Chiefs
  2. Titans
  3. Bills
  4. Browns
  5. Ravens
  6. Steelers
  7. Broncos
NFC Championship Game: Niners over Rams
AFC Championship Game: Chiefs over Titans
Superb Owl: Chiefs over Niners

Awards:
  • MVP: Pat Mahomes
  • OPOY: Alvin Kamara
  • DPOY: Devin White
  • OROY: Justin Fields
  • DROY: Micah Parsons
  • Coach of the Year: Mike Vrabel

NFC North: Vikings
NFC East: Eagles
NFC South: Bucs
NFC West: Cards

AFC North: Ravens
AFC East: Bills
AFC South: Colts
AFC West: Chargers

Wildcards NFC: Cowboys, Rams, Niners
Wildcards AFC: Bengals, Chiefs, Broncos

NFC Championship Game: Bucs over Eagles
AFC Championship Game: Bills over Ravens
Super Bowl: Bills over Bucs

MVP: Justin Herbert
OPOY: Justin Jefferson
DPOY: Darius Leonard
OROY: Drake London
DROY: Sauce Gardner
COTY: Nick Sirianni
CPOTY: Michael Thomas

Crazy difficult, the AFC West this season is the strongest division on paper since I've been following the NFL. AFC North will also be very competitive especially if the Steelers can get it together offensively and Watson's suspension is mild.

This is leaving out teams like the Steelers, Pats, Dolphins, Titans, Raiders, Saints, Packers, ... who all have strong playoff cases as well. I feel like all but a few teams (Jets, Texans, perhaps a few other) could be legitimate contenders this season if a few pieces come together.
5 out of 7 playoff teams correctly predicted for both AFC and NFC at the start of the season, not too bad. JJ has a case for OPOY, Sauce for DROY and Sirianni for COTY. What I think it will be:

MVP: Mahomes
OPOY: Jefferson
DPOY: Bosa
OROY: Wilson
DROY: Sauce
COTY: Daboll
CPOTY: CMC

I hope Hurts will win MVP, if anything Minshew has shown that Hurts was instrumental to the Eagles' success this season. DPOY could also be Parsons but I think Bosa has got that one. OROY is underwhelming, problem is that very few candidates have had a full season (Hall, Walker, Purdy, Pierce, ...). Imo Daboll has done the most with the least in NY, although consideration should also be given to O'Connell, Tomlin, Pederson, Sirianni, Shanahan, ... That one is really up for debate.

Titans announced they are sticking with Josh Dobbs over Malik Willis for their division-clincher against the Jags next weekend.

Given how Lawrence has been playing the last two months, surely the Jags are major favorites to wrap up the AFC South now. What a turnaround that would be given the shambles they were in last season.

Lul, Hurts has no shot at the MVP now, he's like fourth in the betting odds. Mahomes is a massive favourite now and he absolutely deserves it. He leads the league in nearly every major statistical category and he's had a half dozen 'warlock' plays that no other player in the league could make. Plus he lost Hill and his team has by far the worst defense of the main candidates (Burrow, Allen, JH).

I couldn’t believe it when they finally got called for holding. Of course wasn’t it right before the non catch was called a catch, so we didn’t really benefit from it. The Kittle holding call was terrible too, though I think we scored on that drive anyway.

either way, enough self made mistakes to focus and work on. We know there will be bad calls in the post season anyway. Good that Purdy had to navigate his way through adversity.

Like I said I think Mahomes will win it and it wouldn't be undeserved, but I'd like to see Hurts win it, that's all.

So if the Seahawks win earlier, the Lions are eliminated and only have spite towards the Packers to play for instead of a potential playoff game to motivate them. Thanks schedulers.

The league has flexed Lions vs Packers to SNF. So if Seattle wins, the Lions will know they have nothing to play for and that will definitely make it easier for the Packers - unfair and unnecessary if you ask me.

Sure they have their pride and they don't wanna see the Packers in the playoffs, but you can't knock that feeling that you're already out if they know that they have nothing to play for.

Stupid, especially since Ravens vs Bengals could be for the AFC North title as well so would've been a perfectly fine SNF option.

@Hephaestus you beat me to it. Very unfair imo.
Yeah, it's BS.

I'd also add Titan-Jaguars as a alternative, I know the Titans are on their third QB now but at least that game would be fair to all teams. I agree that Ravens-Bengals would be best though, especially if the Bills win today.

Absolutely. When you see the social media post of the raiders holding with both arms uncalled, then the Kittle one arm hold off it just looks silly.

I know Brock struggled in places last night but it is definitely good to see we can still win them games and he can just get it done. His production in terms of scoring from limited yards and completions in the first half was ridiculous. Exciting times to get into the playoffs. The number two seed would be great for some bodies to heal up but imagine if the eagles bottle it again and we end up number 1. Long shot but not so long as it seemed a couple of weeks ago.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's been great; but the injury has hurt his case, in contrast to what you are saying re it being clear that the Eagles need him. That is true, but I think the voters look at him falling behind statistically rather than appreciating his true "value' in his absence. Now Burrow and Allen have leapfrogged him and they play tonight to try and get some extra juice in the race. It's unfortunate for Hurts.

If my math is correct doesn’t this make it bizarrely worse for the Seahawks: if they lose they’re out, if they win it’s more likely Packers win and they’re out then too..right?

This helps us in a way but it's totally madm annoying for the neutral and for the sake of NFL

Yea, the scheduling for the last week is garbage and is fecking over a number of teams. Because the Chiefs play the Raiders on the Saturday Miami might end up getting screwed if either the Bills win against the Bengals and the Chiefs lose to the Raiders or if the Bills lose against the Bengals and the Chiefs beat the Raiders. If either of those happen then the Bills will be either confirmed #1 or not #1 seed and will be inclined to rest their best players against the Patriots who Miami need to lose to get to the playoffs.

Yeah, it's worse for us now and better for the Packers.

Of course, this could all become utterly immaterial if the Seahawks lose to the Rams. Then the Lions-Packers becomes a win and in for both teams.

Biggest game of our season and we aren't in it. Im a Joe Burrow Stan for the next 3 hours.

That was awesome. I think this game is going to be special..

The Bills aren't going to have any starters fit by the end of this game.

Didn’t see what happened but they looked pretty concerned for him. Hopefully nothing too serious.

Wtf. He got up and immediately collapsed. Hard to see from the angle they showed but his head didn’t look like it took too much of a bang. Again, hopefully it’s all just precautionary.

Fecking hell, players in tears. Doesn’t look good.

Not good to see players nearly in tears on the pitch. Didn't see it at first but the replay looked brutal. Hope he's okay.

Some kind of cardiac event after taking a hit to the sternum? Completely guessing as it didn’t seem like the head was involved.

This ever happened before in the NFL or any of the other big American sports? Do people expect the game to be called off?
