Pour one out for Derek Carr.

Wonder which unlucky sod is going to be the Raiders QB next season.

I would love to know what Davante Adams is thinking.

Edit:

I’d seen another social media post where Adams said Carr was an equivalent level to ARod.

what happened with Carr? Is he really that bad?

Think Tua needs taking out of the firing line, dolphins are horrible and I don’t think the multiple concussions and current situation will do him any favours going forward.

Was that the one where he said he was going from one Hall of Fame QB to another Hall of Fame QB?

It seems like a weird career move for him either way.

Haha, it wasn’t actually, it was something like they had a “similar skill set, if he’s keeping it real”

The one you quote sounds like either prime brown-nosing or prime trolling

Dallas ain't winning a title with Dak unless the defense is stout, like maybe he would with San Fran's defense. Those three first half turnovers by him against Tennessee (two were his fault) would have likely put Dallas in a big hole against the likes of Minnesota, Philly, San Fran, or Tampa. He plays too lazy for my liking, too mistake prone, and his decision making is off at times.

I am so confused about Dak. All the analysts seem to rate him very highly but every time I watch games he does some dumb stuff

Bucs backup QB Blaine Gabbert assisted in the rescue on his jet ski...

Not really but we need a scapegoat for an underwhelming season. Mark Davis ain't gonna cop any blame and McDaniels is virtually unsackable as we're cash poor so it looks like Carr has to fall on his sword.

A shame considering our defense has once again been trash most of the season, we're had a rotating O-Line and the likes of Waller and Renfrow have been injured most of the season.

I think it could end up being a big mistake, the QB market is stretched at the minute and not a good shopping place.

they won’t draft high enough to get the best rookies and even if they did look At the recent drafts. The there’s the fact that those in the next group age wise - Mayfield, Wenz, Darnold, Trubisky etc etc are generally hopeless and it’s not looking good.

Any idea who they’ll go for? Will it be a rookie? It will it be someone like Jimmy G?

Has a QB ever been benched for cap purposes (to protect his value in case of injury) while the team was still mathematically eligible for the playoffs?

I cannot recall a similar situation as Carr’s that didn’t involve a highly-rated rookie or maybe second-year guy being the replacement.

Yeah I don't really know what the plan is. We might be able to snag Will Levis but I don't think he's ready to start. Possibly him or Anthony Richardson with a stop-gap like Jimmy G.

Not sure how Brady and McDaniels relationship these days, but we might be the frontrunners for him though if he doesn't retire and doesn't re-sign with the Bucs.

If I'm not mistaken, it was reported at the start of the season that McDaniels was very safe because the Raiders are skint, Mark Davis doesn't have the money to fire someone else. Now if they are actually skint there is a chance that he also doesn't want to pay an expensive player and Carr will be very expensive from 2023 and this offseason is the only opt out.

Will Levis puts mayonnaise in coffee. He should be blackballed by every team in the league.

Nope, you are correct on the cash situation.

Looking at the structure of the contract, I don't think that they ever intended to pay Adams, he is being traded before 2025 or let go in 2025. The Bears, Patriots and Giants look like decent destinations.

Imagine being fined for this 'celebration'

I guess they had to be consistent, AJ Brown got a fine for the same celebration against the Steelers when he caught a TD pass and then pointed at the 2 guys covering him. Wasn't called taunting at the time, but he got a retrospective fine.

So dumb. Unless you're right up in someone's face and/or goading the opposition, just let it go. Both were cool I thought, without overstepping the mark.

A lot of the taunting flags and fines are stupid.

Of course I actually wouldnt even mind the taunting to actually happen

Brady landing spots in 2023.
A) His residence & TV analyst
B) Another NFL team
C) Resign with Tampa

If B, let's take a look at the field
AFC East: no- Buffalo; in play- Miami (Tua is brittle, they can win now), NE (Belicunt will need to check his ego), NYJ (they have the roster to compete)
AFC North: no- Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh; possible- Baltimore (if they don't franchise/resign Lamar)
AFC South: no- Jacksonville; no way in hell- Houston; in play- Indy (they've tried with Rivers & Ryan), Tennessee (think Brady is on good terms with Vrabel but can the Titans truly compete beyond a division title?)
AFC West: no- Chargers, Denver, Kansas City; doubtful but let the rumors begin- Vegas (has Adams but the org is a dumpster fire)
NFC East: no- Dallas, Philadelphia; doubtful- Washington (even with their crap QB situation and money to spend); intriguing- NYG (depends on what they do with Jones)
NFC North: no- Chicago, Minnesota; wild card- Green Bay (depends on Rodgers and what they think of Love); doubtful- Detroit (Goff has had a good year)
NFC South: not a chance- Atlanta; doubtful- Carolina (but they badly need a QB); in play- New Orleans (if Payton returns it's intriguing)
NFC West: no- Arizona, Seattle (they'll stick with Geno IMO); very possible- San Francisco (unless they put their stock in Purdy); maybe- Rams (they still have a solid roster decimated by injuries this year but their cap and draft outlook may be bleak)

I know that Texas got snow not so long ago but it's not in the North yet. ;)

Ah, I had the old naming convention for Central/North. Corrected. Technically not East either but anyhow.

I figured that it was the case. By the way, wouldn't it make more sense if the Panthers and Cowboys swapped divisions?

Oh, and the Giants of course. Those four have massive rivalry histories over the decades. The poor Cardinals were not even considered and probably desired to move out west for geographic and competition purposes.

The funny bit is looking at old standings prior to the mid-90s expansion. You had the Falcons and Saints the NFC West with Dallas and Arizona/St Louis in the East. Carolina arrives and they get stuck in the West. The AFC was more balanced geographically.
