That was 2007, they were a complete team that year and had homefield with only the Packers considered a serious threat, not that they took the Giants lightly though a certain Patrick Crayton opened his mouth guaranteeing a win. The 2021 team is not on par with that squad.
The 2007 side were two Crayton drops and one bad route* from hosting the Packers in the NFC championship game and a potential rematch with New England. Fasano dropped a pass that would have been a touchdown, they settled for a field goal midway through the third quarter.
These are two Crayton miscues I can recall but there was another drop that I cannot find exactly when it occurred.
-3rd-Q drop - possible snag for an 83-yard score on third down, or at least a lengthy gain to keep a drive going. That drop forced a Dallas punt to which the Giants ensuing drive resulted in what would be the final points scored in the game.
-4th-Q bad route - 3rd-11 from NYG-23 with about 0:20 remaining, Crayton ran his route short, stopped, then broke towards the goal as Romo's pass sailed over his head. Had Crayton ran a proper route that's an probable game-winner, assuming he doesn't drop that pass as well. On 4th-11, Romo forced into coverage with little time left, McQuarters made a fantastic play on the ball before Glenn thus ending the game.
