A few days old, but thought I'd post it anyway. John Elway using "fake news" - what an absolute tool. Politics and sports should be kept completely apart.

I saw that the other day and cringed pretty hard. He's a big Trumpster unfortunately.

Yes, there are plenty of pictures of him standing in the rain during Trump's inauguration. And just look at him. I've never seen a person who looks more like a Trumpster. The only thing missing is a MAGA cap.

Unfortunate when was a great athlete, and is a brilliant GM. But I guess at least 80 % of owners, GM's and coaches are supporters of the GOP. The NFL is such a conservative, "white" league, and that's a shame when you look at the NBA which is almost the complete opposite.

Aguayo released and taken on by Bears.

Bucs were foolish to draft him.

Need to have nerves of steel if you're a kicker and drafting him so high effectively puts a weight of expectation on his shoulders. Was bound to fail.

First, why hasn't the media made a big hoopla over Lynch? Was it that Kaepernick had a bigger presence as QB?

Second, Elway can feck off. I've no respect for him seeing his Trump support. I have a sneaky suspicion the Jones clan and Witten support(ed) Trump as well.

Belichick, Brady and many others do as well, probably.

Aguayo picked up by the Bears.

Brady has been keen (smartly so!) since the election to distance himself from Trump. Theres been a couple of his social media posts which seem to quite heavily imply he's not happy with some policies - although I think him and Bill were firends with him before his long and illustrious political career before becoming president.

Belichick was a Trump supporter, but as per usual, doesn't really talk about it. Hard to imagine why few Trump fans are shouting about it right now..

I remember during the US election them discussing if it divided the locker rooms. There seemed to be a fairly standard answer from different teams - but given the campaigns run, its hard to imagine there not being a huge divide in some locker rooms. I saw on Twitter there being a few mentions of locker rooms coming to blows over it.

Seriously, anyone else here subscribe to Game Pass?

Is there a way to complain? It's pathetic at the moment.

I do.

It's got better since it launched on the 1st to be fair. For a week they were no volume controls on the web version. Just on or off. It's a shame the its lacking some features because the stream quality has been better for me on the whole.

The iPad app really does need a 10-15 second skip forward button.

Agree. Pathetic at the moment, quality is 90s VHS through Chromecast, no download option.

They switched providers, hopefully it's just teething problems and they'll have everything sorted in time for the regular season

I was hoping he was being sarcastic. Oh well, no longer the greatest QB of all time in my expert evaluation. Feck off buck tooth.

We'll give that to...Brady, I suppose. Even though from a talent standpoint he's not even the best QB in his own generation. That'd be Rodgers.

I haven't had any problems with Game Pass recently. Maybe my 24-7 use of it has bogged down the system - it's one of the more incredible services available. Can't get enough of it.

My family and I actually joke that he looks like a horse, which is appropriate because he's the czar of the Broncos. I've always thought him to be arrogant as hell.

And your statement that Rodgers is the best QB is so refreshing for me. I just got promoted so I don't know the feeling around the General Forum, but so many people overlook Rodgers because of rings. The guy is the best example of putting a team on his back and leading the way - McCarthy holds that team back, front office signs usually signs no impactful players and there's very little talent on that roster. He does it all.

So Elway is dismissed because he's a Trump supporter and instead you'll say it's Brady who's.... a Trump supporter.

Agree on Rodgers though, he's awesome.

Rings is such a horrible argument for a game played with 22 starters and a huge focus on coaching and schemes. Rodgers is the best, and it's not even close.

It's a ridiculous way of arguing who's a better player.

It's like saying Luke Chadwick was a better player then Gerrard because he won the league.

Brady isn't currently tweeting about 'fake news.'

This is coming from someone who has vehemently argued for Elway being the greatest QB OAT for all of my adult life.

So?! Elway is clearly a political fecktard but what does that have to do with how good a QB he was?!

Ryan Giggs is a twat who fecked his brothers wife, he's still a legend. Messi is a tax fraud, he's still one of the best to play the game.

etc etc

Nonsense.

I would take Montana over Rodgers in a heartbeat. I would also take Steve Young over Rodgers.

Think he was talking about the current generation.

Negative. Rodgers walks all over Montana in everything other than rings and squad + coaching quality. Steve Young is a better comparison; he was the original Rodgers.

Arm strength, mobility, accuracy, clutch play...Where is Joe superior outside of telling jokes about seeing John Candy in the stands?
He had 35 4th quarter comebacks, he never lost a Super Bowl and threw 11 TDs and 0 Ints in them and a 127.8 Passer Rating, he was 14-5 all-time in the playoffs, and something like 98-33 for the entire decade of the 1980s in regular season starts. He's the most clutch quarterback of all time.

Also, he hung a 55-10 scoreline on Elway and the Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV if you want to compare him to the guy you previously believed was the GOAT (And that's coming from a Broncos fan who idolized Elway)

Joe was literally surrounded in Hall of Famers, and offensive minds that were well ahead of their time.

If you consider the context, then you cannot rate him above Brady when all factors are involved.

That's a pretty nice comparison, haven't thought of that one. Certainly by style of play and mobility there is a similarity.

And don't forget Huey Lewis, he was always at the games!

We can begin the Rodgers>Montana debate with those physical attributes such as arm strength, accuracy, mobility, etc... What Rodgers does inside and outside of the pocket is what most quarterbacks can only dream of. He extends the play. Most importantly from a statistical standpoint, Rodgers NEVER turns the ball over - first QB to throw for 300 TDs and have less than 100 picks. Brady was next closest at 115. Passing greats Brees and Marino had 154 and 169, respectively.

Joe was literally surrounded in Hall of Famers, and offensive minds that were well ahead of their time.

The 49ers of the 80s/90s were stacked beyond belief. Walsh was an offensive mastermind and drew everything up in a perfect way for the team. A master of Xs and Os. McCarthy...not so much. He's survived only because that Super Bowl he won years ago. What about teammates? Montana had Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Fred Dean, Charles Haley... And Rodgers? Jordy Nelson and Clay Matthews? Besides Bakhtiari they've got little else to protect Rodgers.

I think Montana to be an all time great, but Rodgers is ahead of everyone, even Brady. He does the best with what he's got, he improvises, he keeps the play alive, he does it all himself. Watching game film of AR12 is like watching that movie Taken: how the hell does he make the best out of the worst situations and still come out on top?
