Wilfork announcing he's retiring. Beast for the Pats.

Surprised because he's joining a decent side but not a contender & I'd have thought he'd be making decent money doing TV work. Plus I never got the hype around him. He's got a strong arm but makes so many mistakes for an experienced player.

I get the addiction to wanting to play, but unless he was going to a potential contender I don't see the point in playing another year (other than money, which I don't think he needs)
$10m for a single (likely regular only) season is pretty good money.

There's possibility of extension since Tannehill's comeback is not guaranteed. He's got that recurring injury and not sure how much trust he'll get from the Dolphins.

Branden Albert has been placed on the reserve/retired list and could miss out on his bonus money/pay it back. Albert then decided to report back to the Jags but was retained on the list. I'll presume his agent said, "What the feck, Branden! You're going to lose that bonus money."

Have read elsewhere he's trying to get the Jags to let him go so he can resign with Miami.

Wtf

Maybe I'm too much speaking as af fan but I don't like Savage as starter like the NFL pundits do. I want Watson in there from the first minute and I wouldn't even mind missing the playoffs this year if that means he develops into an elite QB. That said, looking forward to this game. Hope JJ is fit and gets some minutes. Also excited to see how McCaffrey will do for the Panthers. I'm just so happy NFL is back, even if it's pre-season.

Yeah, I don't understand this either. Do you guys have a tough early schedule? Even if you do, I'd still put Watson in there.

I completely agree.

But I can also understand their point. If they send him in too early, perhaps he will struggle and throw off his confidence and development. He's young and might not be able to handle the media etc. all talking about how much of a flop he may be, if he screws up.

Your argument definitely valid too, and I prefer to think of it your way. Start him early, shock him with how tough it is, and get him learning from the only real way to learn as soon as possible; playing real life competitive games.

Anyone watched the first episode of Hard Knocks? I quite enjoyed it. McCoy and Winston seem like decent blokes and certainly you can see the leader in Winston.

Overall liking it more than the Rams one, not sure if it's up there with the Texans one just yet.

ESPN saying Zeke being suspended 6 games!!

That trade has come out of nowhere. If Watkins can stay fit the Rams have done themselves pretty well.

Bills have managed to get some good picks in but after losing Gilmore and now losing Darby... seems odd. Did pick up Gains though.

 Jets are still surely much worse off than the Bills.

Yeah the Jets are fecked up. The Bills seem to be giving up on this season also but have a ways to go to catch up with the Jets in the race to the bottom.

With the Dolphins QB situation, the Pats have to be loving this, very possible for them to pick up 6 wins within the division now.

It's a tough call by the NFL on this suspension. The prosecutors in Columbus determined they could not press charges due to "conflicting and inconsistent information." Not sure if the entirely means it came down to he said/she said or if it means there were inconsistencies in her story also.

What we see with the NFL is that regardless of the legal position you are in, they can and will suspend you. They have a different standard/burden of proof from the legal system. Basically if they think you did it, they can suspend you.

I saw Ryan Fitzpatrick roaming around central park with his daughter. He had this dazed look on his face as he was riding one of those horse carriages. Really summed it up for me.

Tbh I think the NFL Justice System might be more accurate than the actual one at times.

The Pats get so much luck year after year you cannot help but laugh at this stage.

I'm hoping Cutler has a good spell for us being under Gase again. But the odds are against it.

He won't be doing that on October 15! :wenger:

Shit I forgot you're seeing the Giants!

At least when I went to MetLife, one of his pre-game drills is to run up and down the end zone making one handed catches. One of the most incredible things I've seen.

I got an awesome couple photos if I can figure out how to post them here I will (if you know how to get them from my iPhone photo library to here let me know!)

Afraid I can't help with iPhone stuff but if you figure it out definitely post them! @Raoul may be able to help, he's an Apple user.

I don't think I'll be getting many photos of players when I'm at Mile High, we're right up at the top. We could have got seats right behind one of the end zones but they were like $450 each :(
