Rofl at catching that interception instead of batting it down

What was he supposed to do? it was fourth down

Bizarre decision - felt punt was the safer call unless they were going to run some dump off screen/jailbreak play. The play was definitely busted by the blindside rush but Brees knows better than just throwing up a duck on the run.

again, what would you have him do? take a sack? throw it out of bounds?

No issue with him throwing the way he did
It was last resort
The interception however was just nuts

The interception was the best outcome aside from a first down. Gave the Saints about 20yards of field position.

Well, yeah it worked out, and could easily have been dropped, or returned for multiple yards which would be quite disastrous. Just never know what will happen when ducks float up like that.

I was more shocked they still went for it on fourth down after not drawing the Panthers offside. Ballsy from Payton.

Ultimately, the defense saved the day.

Punt was obviously the right call. Bad call from the Saints to go for it. A good punt would've nailed Newton down within his own 5 and allowed the Saints D to stop him.

Both teams gained over 400 yards of offense. That doesn't bode well for the Saints defense going forward.

Eagles may make NFL history next weekend. They may be the first top seed to be a home underdog in the division round. Falcons opened as a 2.5 favorite. http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/i...t-no-1-seed-underdog-divisional-round-history

Our defense is not going to like that.

It only feels right that we are on the back foot. After the regular season we've had. Either way, it's been a great ride watching Carson break out. If we can just fill in a couple holes in the secondary then we will be back next year.

Saints v Vikings
Falcons v Eagles

Titans v Pats
Jags v Steelers

hmmmmm. Like the Falcons, Pats and Steelers. Not sure yet on the other game, though since I was saying I thought it might be a Saints v Steelers Super Bowl, I better go with them.

Gano’s missed chip shot coming back to haunt the Panthers. Although, I guess you can go back to the Clay drop prior to that though if you play what if’s.

Vikes (with Bradford) beat the Saints pretty comfortably in the first game(?) of the season, but different teams now. Saints with the playoff pedigree and Brees, but Vikes have the defense to stifle them. Toss up for me, with the advantage to Vikes due to playing at US Bank. If Keenum and the offense transfer their regular season play to next week, making minimal mistakes, I think they’ll have enough to beat NO.

Eagles also get a first place schedule next year, and won't have the luxury of feasting on a boatload of sub .500s. They had the 6th-easiest schedule based on opponent winning percentage in 2017 (.461) and went 9-0 against sides finishing .500 or worse (4-3 against winning sides, which is not a bad record in fairness).

That said, anything can change in a calendar year and clubs that had winning seasons this year could fall down next year. It happens annually.

Never saw a team celebrate throwing an interception so much

Hoping the Saints go on win the superbowl great team to watch and its always good watching Cam and the Panthers lose

I know it’s fun to get on the Saints bandwagon but unfortunately 1) they’re up against the Vikings next and 2) they’re now on the road.

Brees is electric in the dome. My concern is they won’t be able to replicate that form in Minnesota.

Vikings Saints is probably worthy of the championship game on the NFC side I think.

Really looking forward to the next round, some really interesting match ups for sure. The highlight is probably Saints - Vikings, where i hope and believe Vikings will have a slight edge with their tough D.

Have we done a prediction for the regular season awards?

MVP: Tom Brady
OPOTY: Todd Gurley
DPOTY: Calais Campbell or Aaron Donald
OROY: Alvin Kamara
DROY: No idea ...
Comeback player of the year: Keenan Allen
Coach of the year: Sean McVay or Mike Zimmer

Think Vikings will win that one although should be a great game. Put £40 on Falcons to win Superbowl quite some weeks ago when they were 24/1. Not counting chickens yet but reckon they'll beat Eagles.

Seriously though what are the Titans doing there!?

Have they decided the dates and times of this weekend’s fixtures. Trying to work out whether to book Monday off or not

Sure they have.

Saturday: Falcons - Eagles 4:35 ET, Titans - Pats 8:15 ET.
Sunday: Jags - Steelers 1:05 ET, Saints - Vikings 4:40 ET.

The intentional grounding call was a weird one. Didnt think they would give that.

Cant see anything but Patriots making SB again. Think they edge out Steelers.
