Brady really only started for two years. As a freshman and sophomore he backed up future NFL quarterback Brian Griese and watched the 97 team win the national championship. As a junior he was the undisputed starter but he managed only a 14:10 TD:INT ratio despite having 10 future NFL teammates on offense alone. His senior year he took 75% of the snaps at quarterback due to Drew Henson (widely regarded as a future number one overall pick) being recruited by the New York Yankees and Michigan having to convince him to stick around. (Henson did stick around for the year after Brady and had a dominating season better than any Brady had). Brady was good that year but nothing special. His breakout game was really the 2000 Orange Bowl which you can watch below.

How was the GOAT pick 199 in the draft? Boggles the mind

Because he did not have a great college career.

Here's some guys who did not even get drafted but had good to great NFL careers

Johnny Unitas, drafted in the 9th round by the Steelers, barely given a chance to practice, then released. Plays semi-pro football, gets asked to tag along to a teammates try out with the Colts, the rest is history.

NFL hall of famers, by the round they were drafted

Not to mention - If Bledsoe doesn't get injured...Brady continues to sit behind him for what another 2-3 years? How does he progress? After all Bledsoe had just signed the biggest record in league history - $100mil

Does Bill end up trading him for a draft pick? Does he demand a move? How does his career pan out without Bill and the Pats?

Cheers, thanks for that.

As for Johnny Unitas, well there's a hair-do you can set your watch to.

I'm not sure I agree completely with the other positions tbh. A WR can "avoid" the defense by not running directly into it, instead they run away from it. I see your point, but surely RB is the offensive position (along with the QB) that feel the difference the most? At least early in their careers? I'm not arguing against QB being the toughest to scout, but RB has to be right up there as well. I guess scouting in general is quite hard ..
QB v RB is nowhere near the same difficulty in terms of scouting. In fact, RB and WR are two of the only positions a NFL team would feel comfortable drafting straight out of high school. AD, Randy Moss, AJ Green, Fournette (sp), could've all went straight to the pros.

The most sought after HS QBs in recent years? Matt Barkley, Jimmy Claussen, Ben Olson, Jon David Booty, Mitch Mustain, Rhett Bomar, Ryan Perriloux, Tim Tebow, Vince Young...notice a pattern?

4 years ago, we witnessed the greatest moment in sports:

(ButtFumble in case the tweet doesn't work properly!)

Didn't the Cardinals draft David Johnson because another team went with their #1 priority right before they had to pick? I'm pretty sure but can't remember who they targeted in the first place. Their GM was already raving about his receiving skills back then, and he wasn't wrong.
It was Ameer Abdullah - Lions took him.

No but every other angle shows his foot is off the ground.

The likes of John Elway, Carson Palmer, Hines Ward (switched to WR), Peyton Manning, Jeff George, etc. were highly recruited and top ranked as well. As with any teenager phenom some will hit and many will miss. I don't think there's an athlete alive that could go to the NFL at age 17/18/19 and not get broken in half.

But you left off two of the greatest sureshots coming from high school: Tim Couch and Ron Powlus.

Sounded like Aretha smashed the national anthem? I couldn't quite hear it and the remote was too far though, might be wrong.

Big play Slay! Huge INT.

Looks like he might've fumbled though.

Lions have had a bunch of last gasp wins this season.

Sublime awareness by Williams, Dallas' O can't be stopped right now.

Wow that Dallas offense is really enjoyable. My fantasy archrival has Elliott so I've tried to deny it.

Cowboys are the real deal. Would love to see them up against the Seahawks

What a catch!! Redskins need a TD on this RedZone drive.
