RGIII to Browns just a disaster waiting to happen. He is going to get ripped at Browns for losses. His confidence will fall and he will commit more mistakes than he already does. Then will get injured. Even more criticism from the fans and the media. Comes back and the same thing happens. Its going to be an endless cycle until eventually he will leave Cleveland.

Barring the injuries bit, doesn't that basically describe every Browns player ever?

Pretty massive list of Browns catastrophes. It's quite funny though that some are saying that he's got the most talent of any in a long time. Whilst he is talented, I think it reflects more on how bad the Browns have been at QB for yeons

RGIII is outrageously talented (Skins fan, so I've seen the good and bad) - let's not forget the start he had to his career....that wasn't a fluke.

If his body didn't hadn't let him down, combined with the Skins hierarchy having no time for him...Lord knows where he'd be today :(

 as a skins fan you probably know more than I do. But my personal view is that yes he's talented but also quite limited. Long story short my view is that whilst he, Wilson and Kapernick were considered similar and the new type of athletic QB, he is more aligned with Kapernick in that he has several limitations such as reads and confidence/"naturalness" in the pocket.

I don't think it's a coincidence that as teams started to understand how to play what was a unique style of QB at the time that they have both suffered whilst Wilson who is much more comfortable in a traditional role has succeeded.

No doubt, though, that that is also linked to the teams they play on. Had RGIII played on a team which was better then who knows maybe he could have developed. I think he has a lot to learn and until he can demonstrate that he can learn how to pay from the pocket, something that Kapernick is struggling to do, then "talent" is a very ambiguous and sometimes meaningless word. Let's not forget that many pundits said Kapernick was much more talented than Wilson.

Injuries destroy careers too and it might be that injuries have taken his. He hasn't helped himself by going to the Browns. But who knows...

I'm one who will still tell you that RGIII rookie's season was vastly overrated and over-hyped. Alfred Morris should have won the ROY but he wasn't as hyped. The OC watered down the offensive schemes to take advantage of RGIII's abilities (i.e. speed and strong arm), or better yet to limit a rookie QB not quite ready for advanced schemes. Granted, most young QBs see a watered down offense early on except those with brilliant minds like Luck, P Manning, and Marino.

Washington 2012 led the league in screen passes and play action+rollouts, often resulting in big gains, and rarely put RGIII in position to make reads and throws top tier QBs must make. They topped the league in rushing yards (third in attempt) partly in thanks to RGIII. But Morris was the workhorse and provided a legitimate back that opposing defenses had to consider. That's not to say RGIII couldn't make plays - he clearly did, making some great throws at times and hitting a few long bombs, and he was exceptional when blitzed/pressured. But his rookie season has been vastly overstated since the first month. Most fans see stats and don't see the nuances of the game.

Injuries, inconsistent play, and perhaps not being as good as advertised, brought him back to reality. He could eventually return to that rookie form but highly doubtful. One thing going for him (or against him) is he no longer has an owner that treats him like a golden child that fractured a locker room.

Indeed. Although you could make a case and say that if playing this type of watered down scheme continuously brings you success year after year, should it matter? I think the broader issue is that long term, it doesn't and eventually you need to have those attributes as a pocket passer. When you're young and fresh, you can play this way. But every year your ability to do so goes down and down.

Ffs the off season is ridiculous in this sport. Something. Happen.

New York inhabitans: am I right saying there isn't one single NFL store in Manhattan? My sister goes there next week and I wanted her to buy me a jersey but can't find a proper address? @Edgar Allan Pillow @RDCR07

I don't think there is an NFL shop per say but there are Nike stores in the city and they are predominantly NFL clothing and supplies dominated.

You just had free agency, you ingrate.

I want to see footbawl. I'm surprised something as commercial as the NFL not going for like 8 months.

Dick's never fails to make me giggle.

I always thought they should split the season's schedule so that each team only plays once every second week. Half one week, half the next. Be complicated to figure out a workable schedule, but you'd have players more healed and rested between games, a season twice as long despite no extra games being played, and twice as many televised games to cash in on

I'm in.

Rado, don't get the joke. It's not you it's me.

I would love to see Doctson and Prosise drafted by the Vikings.

Patriots have sweeped up free agency, looking dangerous again.

I read a story easier that Sanchez was holding a 'passing camp' with the WRs.

Hopefully they'll show him how to do it.

The Twitter deal is great news for those without Sky & those looking to get into NFL. It'll be interesting to see how many people watch the TNF game outside the US, could be a great move with it being free across the world.

Unfortunately it'll be around 1-2am start time here.
