Bradford to the Vikings for 1st round pick in 2017 & a pick in 2018. He'll be injured by week 4 I bet.

So does that mean Eagles have seen enough for Wentz to start?

Or do we think Daniels will start? Presumably so due to Wentz injury.

And who will they take as QB3? Sanchez?! Hahaha

Sounds like Daniels will start & Wentz backup. A first rounder for Bradford given his injury history is a win for Philly IMO.

On Hard Knocks they're showing Keenum lining up in Denver saying he's now the starting QB, then boom he gets sacked by Von Miller immediately

It's a great deal for Philly especially when they know he's a stop-gap for Wentz and with Chase Daniels there who can probably do as good a job as Bradford.

To be honest it isn't a bad move by Vikings. Bradford is good enough to manage a game and they don't count on their passing O to lead them to victory with AP in the backfield.

Just watched 'all or nothing: a season with Arizona Cardinals' on Amazon - loved it!

I've never watched nfl before - can anyone explain...

How does the draft thing work? There are lots of spare players but you have to say which is your first, second choice etc?

Are the cardinals expected to do well this year?

Why do players sit down all the time - is it when the offence play the defence lot have to sit down?

It's new players entering the league from college.

Yes, team a's offence plays against team b's defence, and vice versa.

The best eligible players are included in the draft with teams taking turns on selecting players. The worst team from the previous year picks first, right on down the the reigning champions who pick last. The process then repeats in reverse order in the second round and so on.

Teams can trade with each other to be able to pick earlier, which the Rams did to get the overall #1 pick this year.

Yea they should do well.

Yea, the field generally contains offense v defence. So the other sections of each team will be on the sidelines.

I don't think it's THAT bad a move, to be honest. He's not expected to throw 400 yards a game. Or even 300.

Honestly, I think that he is good enough. The Vikings are all about defense and it seems that we found a gem in Kearse, so the defense is completed and should perform at a very high level but I wanted Fournette or McCaffrey next year and now they are gone.

Those guys will go pretty high up... And I don't think you guys would have drafted a RB that high?

You are probably right but the "weakest" teams seem to have RBs, so with a little of luck one of them could slip around the 13th-15th picks and trading up would have been affordable. Also with Shaun Hill the season could have been pretty bad and no trade would have been needed.

Now if Bradford stays healthy, it's a good deal.

Good deal for all involved. We get back into the first round next year and we get an additional pick for 2018 also. Plus, cap room is always nice.

Well, that's not exactly how it works. The team with pick number 32 in first round doesn't have pick number 1 in the second round.

Number 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6 etc. from the first round switch places for the second round. For example, if the Titans have the first overall pick and the Browns have the second overall pick, Browns will have the first pick in the second round and the Titans have the second.

Btw, good deal for both the Vikings and Eagles in the Bradford trade IMO. Vikings get a solid QB, who is around the same level as Bridgewater if he stays healthy - maybe they are overpaying a tad, but getting him is probably going to secure them a play-off spot. The Eagles redeem quite a bit of all the value they paid for Wentz - and they have Chase Daniel who should be an adequate starter until Wentz is ready.

For example, if the Titans have the first overall pick and the Browns have the second overall pick, Browns will have the first pick in the second round and the Titans have the second.

You mean the Titans will have the 33rd pick and the Browns the 34th pick, right?

That's not necessarily right either!

Round 1 the worst team from the season picks first and they proceed in order from worst to best (best gets pick number 32)

After that teams with the same number of wins cycle their order (to compare to the premierleague think of this as teams who finished on the same number of points). So if you have 6 teams at the bottom with the same number of wins their picks would be as follows:

Z (worst overall finisher): Pick 1
Y(next worst): Pick 2
X: 3
W: 4
V: 5
U: 6

...

Y: 33
X:34
W: 35
V: 36
U: 37
Z: 38

I don't think it's common for 6 teams to all finish with the same number of wins but the original example mentions 6 teams. With just two teams tied for the same number the example makes sense.

The 33rd pick is the first pick of the second round and the 34th pick is the second pick of the second round. Hope it was just a tongue-in-cheek comment, though ;)

Maybe I misunderstood but if the Titans are 1st in normal circumstances they have the first pick of the second round not the second pick like you wrote. Or I missed something?

Ah, I wasn't actually aware of that! Good to know.

Look at the draft order from the last draft(ignoring trades):
Pick # 1: Titans
Pick # 2: Browns
Pick # 3: Chargers
Pick # 4: Cowboys

......
Pick # 32: Browns(not 33 as normally, due to Patriots penalty)
Pick # 33: Titans
Pick # 34: Cowboys
Pick # 35: Chargers

So as you can see, they switch it around a little bit in the second round.

Because both teams have the same record, otherwise the order follows the record. Now if we follow your example where teams have the same record then we can precise that the order in the first round is decided by the strengh of schedule the team with the strongest schedule picks ahead in the first round and last of the group of tied teams in the second round.

The oracle (Schefter) reporting he's going to Dallas

Apparently we're looking to trade Talib.

Not entirely surprising, as good as he's capable of being he's also responsible for about 95% of our penalty yards and is a general all round nutter.

If Vikings go to NFC Championship game this season, conditional 4th-round pick in 2018 becomes a 3rd; if Vikings win SB, it becomes a 2nd.
