Fair ain't got nothing to do with it. It's just not a good way to measure performance.
Look at the end of the day, Super Bowl wins are what matters to most. Of course it's not a good way to measure performance, but Montana's and Brady's four Super Bowl wins count for something, right? Trent Dilfer, a mostly career backup, game-managed himself into winning a Super Bowl with arguably the greatest NFL defense of all-time ('85 Bears might have a claim here as well). It's not like I'd rather have his career instead of Marino's Hall of Fame career. And although Romo might be the better QB, it's debatable whose career I'd rather have between him and Eli's.

Yeah, but he's no play calling QB like Brady or his brother. He was told throw, so he threw.

The only thing you could call him on was chucking it out of the endzone with no target, at that point he was better off being sacked.
Umm, no he wasn't. He was told to run that play. There's a big difference. Since he didn't have an open receiver, he should have obviously taken the sack. Every QB in the NFL can audible out of a play if he doesn't like what he sees. Not sure what you mean by a "play-calling QB", as no QB in the NFL calls their own plays including Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Rings as evidence of player quality are like saying Luke Chadwick was better than Gerrard. Which of course is true but still...

Brady's 4 rings* don't make him twice as good as Elway, for example.

Romo is statistically better and all that. I'm biased but I wouldn't trade Eli for Romo, and I'm sure most Giants fans would agree. Romo wouldn't have won dem 2 SBs.

Of course not, we're not down-leveling the magnitude of how much better Brady is just because he hasn't a few more rings yet.

Hey!

This wouldn't keep getting discussed if people were capable of looking at Romo rationally. He's not in the top tier of Manning Brady Brees Rodgers but he's as good as anyone below them. People act like he's just a schmuk who somehow got and kept the starting quarterback job for the Dalls Cowboys all these years.

Totally agree with this. It's your "Tony Romo is so clutch" comment that sparked this recent discussion. Tbf, he has improved dramatically in this regard.

Kiko Alonso with a contender for interception of the year already.

At this rate, Bradford is very likely to be done before the end of the night. He's taken some painful hits.

KNowing how depleted the 49ers line is, I guess there's a top chance AP might go purple Jesus on them.

Hayne should have avoided that one - that would be what experience will give you.

So far am impressed with the Niners - real shame the holding penalty slowed our first drive.

Crazy events in this one already!

I like our urgency - so much better to see than how slow we were getting plays off last year.

But penalties will kill us.
