GRONK!!!!! Come on lad, man up and take the pain.

Just like last time, the Giants need to keep the ball out of Brady's hand for as long as possible. They absolutely need to hold them to 3 points this half or else they will come out with momentum.

It depends really, you enjoy them in different ways because they are different games. NFL is a lot slower, it's a lot about tactics, you get enjoyment for example at seeing them all line up, seeing the ball passed (snapped) to the quarterback, and then seeing whether he runs it himself, dummies a pass, throws a great down field pass that gets caught, someone getting tackled hard, etc etc. The same way you'd get excited in football if someone did a trick to get past a player or Scholes smashed a downfield pass that picked out a man. Don't worry about the questions either, I wasn't meaning to come across like that.

It also depends on the game, don't let watching a game spoil it for you, imagine a neutral NFL fan tuning in to see what the fuss in football is about and watching QPR vs Bolton on your typical night and thinking it was shit.

No you were helpful, thanks. But still pretty damn confused. Tbf it's the first ever time I've tried to watch it.

Easy to say since I'm a football fan, but it's got to be much easier to understand as a neutral than this. It's effectively who scores the most goals with 11 men on both sides, some defending the goal, the others scoring them. There are things a bit more complicated like the offside rule but it's relatively straight-foward.

Is this superbowl equivilant to the FA Cup final then? Once a year, big event, teams from the same country etc?

2 min warning already, game has gone reasonably quickly. If Pats get a score here we'll also have possession to start the second half. Big drive for both sides in terms of momentum...

It's like a mesh of the FA cup final and the World Cup, in the sense that it's only teams in America in this, so it's not really a World Cup, but the hype, status and importance of it is more akin to the World Cup than the FA Cup. It grabs everybodies interest in a massive way. Everybody tunes in to it.

Post anything your confused by, it's the easiest way to learn.

Phew, down by contact. or not?

Edit: good call and Cris Collinsworth who is a brilliant analyst agrees.

Yes, but it's more like the season is a qualifier for the playoff tournament that then leads to the Super Bowl. You get no championships for being the best team during the season. Just a few advantages in the playoffs.

Football's much easier since the ball keeps moving. The stop-start nature of American Football makes it so you need all kinds of rules to make sure people don't abuse the rules when the play starts. The forward pass itself adds a lot more rules on top of that to ensure that everything's fair. There's a lot of rules in general, but most of them have legitimate reasons for their existence.

But at its most fundamental, it's a game of marching down the field. If you make good enough progress, you can keep marching. If not you give up and try to stop the other side from advancing. If you get close enough to the end, you can try to score a few points by kicking, or try to advance all the way to the end to score even more.

Great feet Brady. In FG range now, don't do anything stupid.

What a fecking beautiful drive. Great protection and good feet by Brady that drive. We have possession to start the 2nd half as well. Excellent.

Good half of football, has gone quite quickly. Big mistake from the Pats gave them their TD but after a shaky start Brady has played well. Pats D has done a decent job but we need to do a better job with their running game. Gronk's not been a factor so far apart from 1 catch but we're coping so far.

Trying to watch super bowl final. How do they call this football. Like watching paint dry. Looking forward to adverts and music.

And here comes Madonna to ruin it. Really thats the best they could come up with for a half time show?

That's about my feelings on boxing compared to MMA.

Christopher Walken on Tom Brady...
