Nfl 2010-2011

Sky will have them still

Ok. I guess Channel 4 got the late night rights that Channel 5 had last year, and Sky keep the 2 Sunday evening games.

They better sign up Mike Carlson, he's a top bloke and knows his stuff too.

Agreed. If he does sign up though, I hope he isn't restricted into behaving 'formally', he's always great to watch on ch. 5, but when he does the BBC coverage for Superbowl, he seems boring (like the Sky presenters).

Good, we'll still need another 6-8 players to get a league going though so anyone else that's interested just comment below

I want the Patriots to go back to what they have been for most of their existence, SHIT.

Yeah, I tend to agree, they used to be such an awful franchise, it is really a credit to Bellichek, Kraft, Brady, etc, that they have won so much over the past decade. I also kind of feel the same way about San Diego, I would love to see them go belly up

I doubt the pats would challenge this year. Our D looks so fragile, giving up play after play.

Our offence should perform very well though, loads of offensive weapons. Gronk with another bruising TD last night. Will be interesting to see what TEs we keep though.

I'm interested. I prefer Yahoo but I have an ESPN account but you guys might have to remind me to check mine if it looks like I'm late in setting my lineup.

Snake or auction is fine with me. What kind of draft time are we talking about?

Snake draft is the way to go I think, as for the time not sure yet we'll try to sort something out once we get enough people interested

I'm in. I did an auction draft yesterday, got an insane set of starters, with a receiving core that includes Calvin Johnson, Marques Colston and Anquan Boldin :)

I can see Boldin having a great year with the Ravens

So far we have 5 for the fantasy league and we're running out of time to have the draft so if we can get one more person we might just have a 6 man league

So Crayton was traded to San Diego for a 7th rd pick that can be upgraded to a 6th, and McQuiston was traded to Miami for a 6th. Odd that a backup OL with little value is worth more in a trade than a proven WR that can be a #2 or #3.

Apparently Parker will be cut by the deadSkins.

Matt Leinart released by the Cardinals. Strange move to release him the week before the season starts, I thought he was going to be the starter with Warner retiring, he must be really shit for them to be this ruthless.

I can see Pete Carroll taking him to Seattle. This will probably be Hasselbeck's last season there, he's a spent force. Carroll has coached Leinart before, so he'll probably be able talk him into battling it out with Charlie Whitehurst.

TJ Houshmazaazahdaeahadh was also released by the Seahawks.

he was beat-out fair and square. he's less than mediocre.

GO PACK! great offense, defense hurt and missing guys. the o will need to score every possession.

Right guys so far the following have signed up:

EdWeatherall
Alex
Jveezy
Erics Collar
Vivs

What's everyones preference for which site we use yahoo or ESPN ?

Also we'll need to organise the draft sometime before Thursday when the season starts so let me know when suits and we'll try sort something out

I'm easy with either site, mainly because I don't know how either of them works and which scoring is preferable or whatever makes one better than the other. You could always PM a few of the regular posters in this thread to see if they are interested if you want more

I think ESPN's application is more user friendly. Just don't follow their rankings, they are horrendously outdated. Up to a few days ago, Ben Tate was still a first rounder!

Carroll won't last very long in Seattle with the likes of Leinart and Whitehurst as the top QB candidates.

I prefer Yahoo simply because my other leagues are there, but I'll follow this thread and if you guys hassle me about not editing my lineup enough I'll still be able to keep track of two different sites.

Manning, Wayne, Colston, Welker, Gore, Best, J. Finley, A. Smith, Mason, Chester Taylor, Houshmandzadeh, Portis, Janikowski, SF, Cincinnati.

10 teams. Standard Yahoo scoring.

He just got released by his team two days ago...has he been picked up by anyone? If not..he's not going to get you too many points.

I'm aware of that. This was an auction draft and I got him for $1. I'm expecting him to get picked up at some point. From what I heard he just wasn't a good fit for Seattle. If he can be a decent fit anywhere else, then I think the pick was worth it. I don't expect him to start too many games considering my starting WR core.

I should've mentioned I start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF

I have decided the Packers and Raiders are the teams I will try to watch most this year outside of the AFC East, you will be pleased to know. The Raiders because of the status of their first round pick and potential defensive improvement and you lot for the development of my second favourite #12 in the league. Quite a lot of analysts etc are picking you guys for a deep play off run and possibly an MVP calibre season. Not sure if I see the first one due to playoff experience but you will be exciting to watch no doubt.

I think Rodgers is a really exciting player who can make all the throws, is mobile and has also showed an ability to deal with poor offensive line play, bad weather and pressure at times. He plays in a well coached scheme and has a deep group of playmakers but I still think he has started to play outside that the more he’s played . I see him, Rivers, Ryan and Worthlessburger - if he sorts himself out as the likely QB elite in five years time. Though I am almost always wrong. Almost.

By the way fantasy players, biggest possible dick move of auction drafts: nominating Adrian Peterson (of the Seattle Seahawks). Despite the picture being there, it still takes a while for people to notice. And by then someone has already bid $60 on him. It's even more of a dick move when the next nomination is the real Adrian Peterson.

You been caught with that?
I believe there's also two Zach Millers as well, both TEs

I wasn't caught. My league commissioner told me beforehand he was going to do it because he did it in a mock draft and found it hilarious. Then he did it and one of the guys he personally invited into the league took the bait and then he felt bad.

Boosh what's the status for the draft? Any time between now and the season kickoff is fine with me. Is everyone under American time zones? I know Vivs is in school so some time late for EDT would probably be good. If we can't draft then I'm cool with an autopick.

Ok I've set the league up so if you PM me your emails I'll send out invites, as for the draft time I'm not in american time zone either ed so we'll just have to reach some sort of compromise. Would 23.00 GMT/18.00 ET suit on wednesday ?

That time is fine for me. I'll be at work but my boss won't care. Maybe not for Alex if he has to work. I'll ask Vivs if it works for her. And Ed I don't think you'd have to give up your spot. If anything we could just all do autopick if times don't work.

Yeah 3pm on a Wednesday is slightly prohibitive for me
