Nfl 2010-2011

I'm thinking Pete Carroll may want him. He likes his USC connections.

San Francisco might be an option too, and his wife is from that area apparently.

The bigger problem is what will it take to get him out of Cinci though? They don't have anything else. I wouldn't mind seeing him in SF. We'll have nothing next year as it looks now. ugh.

think they would be keeping hasselbeck

i see someone like the vikings or maybe even the panthers picking him up

I'm not a Cutler fan, and infact he was the reason I was rooting for the Packers, but it's a dick move by Bears fans, and players around the league to question his toughness. No way does a guy not play if he can, with a chance to get to a SB on the line.

I'm glad his teammates stood up for him very publicly, anything else, and that locker room would have turned toxic very quickly.

me too...far from it, but if dumbface ends up with a torn acl tomorrow they'll all look pretty stupid. his attitude and body language doesn't win him much sympathy/respect. he's burned bridges in the past.

Not sure who to root for in the SB. I suppose as an NFC guy, I should be going for the Packers, plus Rodgers winning a SB will be so sweet....feck you Favre. But I also sort of like Mike Tomlin, I think he's a good guy, and despite all the baggage the Steelers carry with them, he remains mostly dignified.

Maybe I'll just enjoy it as a neutral

Big Ben of all people being a potential 3 time SB winning QB

like yourself I'm neutral, so just hoping for a good game.
each game yesterday looked like they were going to be blowouts. weird how it all shook out.

I was hoping for a Bears - Steelers or Jets game.

Should be a good game though. I can see the Steelers taking it.

i'm hoping the pack win.

cutler had an MCL tear, so he is likely to have been legitimately out. Although why he could stand around on the sideline with no ice pack on the knee raises a question or two

I think this whole Cutler thing is bullshit. It's one thing that he can stand. Fine. But if he can't plant his throws are going to be all over the place. If that were my QB I'd rather take him out rather than have him go back out on the field, and try to Favre it up and limp off the field to milk all the sympathy he can get whenever he throws a pick.

I completely agree. if he's not fit enough to throw then he shouldn't be playing as he can't do his job properly.

Yep I dont see any fuzz with Cutler being taken off either. It's like in (our) football, if you're not 100% fit, you're not playing, no matter how important you are. American press are making a big deal out of nothing.

Countless other qbs have come back from worse and led their team to victory, hell even a loss, but they led their team; that is something Cutler he isnt ready to do Sunday and honestly I dont think he ever will be that leader that wins his team SuperBowls, Aaron Rodgers on the otherhand...

QBs either have "it" or they don't.

But it also helps having great talent around, or clutch players. Still think the "it" guys can get a team over the hump while the "not it" guys fail or ride the coattails (see Dilfer, Grossman, etc.).

It means you're allowed to tailgate in the parking space, which I thought was a given, but maybe some yanks can clarify that.

It's a tradition from a time when people dropping the tailgates from trucks and sitting on them while having a cold beverage and food with fellow fans. It's now a huge thing before American football games and other sports in the US, though mainly confined to American football. It also happens outside the big exhibition football/soccer matches in the US (there were many tailgate parties before the United/Milan match in 2004).

The Tailgate Party; A Brief History - Mile High Report

Tailgating is part of the game day experience for many sort of like going to the Pub for Brits. Many start in the morning setting up and maybe cooking breakfast washed down with a few beers of course. Some of the setups can be quite impressive, I've seen 50 LCDs with the sports channels playing in the back of cars/SUVs.

One thing for sure, it's quite a culture shock to see some of these tailgate parties. All walks of like, mainly fatties, uglies, and the uber obnoxious tanked up on brats and alcohol. Especially in the southern areas, and Pittsburgh.

You can drink outside and get wasted before the game and go in and get crazy, that is what tailgaiting is about

You need to get to a tailgate at a Bucs game. There is some pretty hot talent knocking around.....hidden amongst the obnoxious fatties of course. :nervous:

What good would Cutler coming back in and leading the Bears to a loss do? Sure, it would have been the "leader" thing to do, you know, if leaders selfishly lead their team to losses to protect their dignity instead of making sure their team has the best chance of victory. Perhaps it's just me, but I don't think Cutler was about to start playing better with a torn MCL than he was with a perfectly okay MCL.

The fact that there was a controversy over this is ridiculous. I understand hating on Jay Cutler is the in thing to do, but I don't think this is the right reason to do so (there are, of course, plenty of other reasons). Could he have went back out there? Yea, he could have. Would it have been in the best interests of the Bears in that game? Answer is obvious - no. Absolutely ridiculous and the NFLers that came out with those moronic statements before knowing what exactly was wrong with Cutler should be ashamed (MJD at least seems to be - nice of him to say he was playing the entire season with Cutler's injury when he hadn't the faintest idea of what happened to Cutler... turned out he was wrong of course).

Anyway, hoping for a Packers victory, but expecting a Steelers one. I hate the Steelers.

Nice one EC, had not seen that and it was a half decent watch. The bit with McShay on the television while he was signing stuff around his entourage was awkward. He really irritates me for some reason, I prefer Mayock over both him and Kiper. I plan on learning what time of the day every 3-4 OLB in the draft takes a crap over the next few months, only for them all to get drafted by other teams.

Is Mayock the NFL Network guy with the lisp? Because that guy's pretty ace.

Yep. I just get the feeling that he speaks to more people around the league at draft time and has better connections, probably because he has some limited playing experience. For example he has had a few interviews with Belichick, who was on the Giants coaching staff with him during his short career. Plus, Kiper still has that hair.

I just get the feeling from Mayock that he's a legitimate journalist and not completely full of shit like Kiper and McShay are.

I can't get my head around Green Bay actually being the favourite. Why?

Really doesn't make sense to me either. Pittsburgh should be the favorite. I can only imagine the odd-makers know what they're doing. There's going to be so much money bet on the Steelers to cover that the line will swing eventually. Maybe there were heavy bets on the Packers initially so make them the favs and get money bet on the Steelers.

Both sets of fans will bet with heart not mind. Both sets of fans are right up there in their rabid fanaticism with the Browns and Raiders crowd. The Packers fandom is about as close to a collegiate group as possible in the NFL.
