Nfl 2008-2009

Some games in the NFL last forever, really depends on a lot of things some get over within 3 hours, some last 4 plus hours

Baltimore can only get near the end zone through penalties. If they luck out here we`re looking at easily the worst Super Bowl match-up in history.

There is no doubt about it, Arizona's inclusion has already made it one of the worst ever, I mean how the feck did they get in, shocking to say the least

Terrell Suggs is fecking damn good

I have no problem with Arizona getting in - they`re in a shit division, shit happens. But, they should never have had any home games. If they have to win three games on the road to get to the big one they don`t get there - end of story.

THey were the 5th seeds Philly the 6th they earned it.

Baltimore is still really in this game.

Ratings would take a huge hit if it's Arizona v Baltimore. NFL is probably holding out for Pittsburgh to win this game. Pittsburgh v Philadelphia would have been a ratings/hoopla bonanza.

How the feck did they earn it. They should never have hosted Carolina.

They didn't... they won on the road. They hosted Atlanta who didn't win their division while Arizona did. Wellington Mara tried to get support to have seeding regardless of division winners records but it was shot down.

Sorry - my head`s up me arse here. I saw money slipping down the drain.

That hit should be shown to the rugby arseholes who wonder why they wear pads.

Something is seriously wrong with him, he is not in a good wishes. Best wishes to him.

Jesus Christ, they just showed the replay in slow-mo, you can snap your basilar artery like that, talk about having your head snap back he is in some trouble, lets hope he is ok

Well if we didn't use helmets in the US there wouldn't be that kind of hit. Personally, I wish the NFL would outlaw any type of hit that leads with helmet. That was leading with crown and he did hit McGahee in the helmet. In Clark's defense, he was turning his head to use his shoulder so it wasn't a true crown-to-helmet hit. I guess.

He hurt himself as well, it was more of just the speed of them moving into to each other, the helmet to helmet may have made it a bit worse, but regardless McGahee's neck still would have snapped back like mad

Yep. I thought Clark was leading, or trying to lead, with his shoulder. Nasty hit but nothing illegal. Good to see he was moving around.

There's that term again... world champions... hate it. As an American I would prefer the leagues toss that term out. Yes the NFL is basically the only league of it's kind but it's still not a world championship. Only the San Antonio Spurs recognize this in US sports, thanks to the foreign imports on the team.

What about hockey.

It does sounds stupid and worse than just saying Super Bowl Champions, I will give that

I wasnt saying that, I was saying that teams in the NHL take players from all over the world in a popular sport in several countries and thus have teams that are the best on the world stage

Is the thing United won this a world championship, it is my ass, maybe in name, but not much more. you cant tell me the top four teams in the world compete for it or 8 whatever it is.

I totally agree. I don't mind it so much for the NFL, because there are no other countries that really play this sport, but I think baseball and basketball need to address the fact that the world is catching up to America. I can't think of one team in baseball that doesn't have an Asian or Latin player. And now nearly every NBA team has one European guy.

Sorry but American basketball is still miles better than anywhere else in the world, they win most comps. playing by FIBA rules not US rules which totally change everything around especially the short 3pt line. Baseball is popular all over, and lots of teams dont have Asians, but yes Latin players are absolutely excellent, but yes the Asian national teams and the South AMerican/Caribbean teams are on par with the US team for the most part, all and all the US has the most talent, but it doesnt always show up as was the case in the World Baseball Championship, a lot of that comes down to pitchers that the US has never faced especially from Japan

It's not a world championship you cretin. It does not involve clubs/teams from other countries outside North America nor is it an event involving nations. And spare me the "well there are players from various countries" bullshit. The trophy United won in the FIFA CWC has far more credibility as a "true" world championship for clubs than a national league attempting to label themselves as a world championship. I

I reckon the Patriots will be scary again, as will the Steelers and Cowboys. What do I want to see for a Super Bowl, easy the Broncos beat the Cowboys, a little revenge for 77'. That said the Broncs probably wont even make the playoffs. So right now I would put my money on it being the Pats and Boys, although I would rather see the Steelers and Boys in a classic rematch

Bump, well at least I got one team right somewhat :D, no one had the Cardinals though

Definitely thought the Steelers were going to be in the Super Bowl, but anyone who thought before the season that the cardinals were going to make it, would have been labeled delusional....

New England probably would have beat them out had Brady not tore his knee out in the first game. But I like the way Pittsburgh play so hard nosed, they are just tough and really can do anything on both sides of the ball

Had to record Pittsburgh-Baltimore last night, have only just watched it. Good violent game.

What is with tall quarterbacks and the close sneak recently. I mean come on, get low and drive your legs for goodness sake, Flacco's effort last night was worse than Manning's last week. I saw the Polamalu leap coming from a mile off as well, but you have still got to make that play for me. Pittsburgh were the better team regardless though, the Ravens looked very tired towards the end.

Looking forward to the Superbowl, will be interesting to see what LeBeau tries to do to Fitzgerald etc. The Panthers sat back in a deep zone... Jim Johnson sent one extra on the blitz at times trying to get to Warner earlier in the routes. Neither worked very well.

Pittsburgh will blitz Warner and for my money they will get to him

What happened to this McGahee?

Is he badly hurt or will he be alright?

The Ravens released a brief statement on Monday updating the status of RB Willis McGahee, who was carted off the field during Sunday’s AFC Championship Game after taking a hard hit to the helmet by Steelers safety Ryan Clark. McGahee was released from a hospital in Pittsburgh early this morning and returned to Baltimore. He is expected to make a complete recovery from head and neck injuries.

“It was a heck of a hit, for one thing,” Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said on Sunday. “Your first thought is obviously concern for Willis. Once we got out there, and hearing the doctors talk and see him move around, you felt like it was going to be OK. Both sides obviously had concerns, but we were happy it was not immediately serious at that point.”
