Fitting an interception should essentially end this game.

Ugh. Offense stalls out inside the red zone. Strange play calling on those last two plays and the pocket collapsed too fast on fourth down. Terrible offensive line will do that.

Caught!!!!

Hail Mary is caught!!!

Unbelievable!!!

But out of bounds?

Out of bounds. Very difficult call but the correct one IMO.

Epic game.

Fair play to Dallas for coming back into the game and almost miraculously winning it, but the turnovers cost them.

The final 2 minutes of this game have taken 24 real time minutes to complete

You just know P Manning will get the Comeback Player award because he's a media darling, but I'm excited to see that Peterson hasn't lost his talent after that nasty injury. I'd vote them Co-CPOTY.

Nice to see All Day back in form. If only we could get some sort of passing game going other than "flick it to Harvin, and see what happens" I will be happy! 'Hawks will be interesting. If Ponder continues his recent run of form, I'm afraid Sherman and co will have an interception field day :/

Manning will be the MVP.

You're not? Where is the precedent for them trading for an established name like this mid-season?

Ah, I'm referring to the need. I thought you were saying they traded for him even though they didn't need him; a surprise in that sense. I agree its a mild surprise that they've gone for an established name midseason, but they cut Sterling Moore yesterday and their secondary was terrible

I struggle to think of anyone that has recovered from a knee injury at the RB position like Peterson. Jamaal Charles has had his moments but he had much longer to recover from memory and is a completely different type of runner. Any others? It’s pretty impressive.

Yeah, it was a bit of a head scratcher yesterday but now it makes sense. Moore has practice squad eligibility too. Looking forward to seeing how this goes, it’s not been great but I still believe its better than last year and there have been signs of improvement. Chung – even when healthy, Arrington and Wilson getting burnt by the same play and route while in Cover 2 against the Seahawks and Rams have been my main concerns. Dennard and Wilson look like keepers overall so far though.

That’s a good one, I was initially thinking more in terms of the speed of Peterson’s recovery and the explosion he still has. McGahee’s looked a much nastier injury so no wonder he sat out a whole season or whatever it was. I wonder if he reached out to Lattimore to give him some advice or encouragement.

Btw, Andrew Luck is the real fecking deal. Piss off all those claiming Griffin is better.

Yeah like the pundits were saying the other day, RG III is more exciting to watch but Luck is the player who will drive your team forward in the future. RG III is just inviting injury with the amount of times he run the ball and the amount of hits he takes.

I don't think that's what he's getting at. The patriots have a history of acquiring troubled stars such as Talib. BB usually takes a chance on players with a chequered past. Albert Hainsworth comes to mind from last year.

I’m aware of all that but the move was still surprising. As most of the responses from the media and fans yesterday indicated. It’s not the same as Haynesworth or Dillon. Its mid-season and he is out of contract in eight weeks (possible extension?) and currently serving a four game suspension. There’s no buying into the program or having time to learn the system, he can’t even talk to the team until his suspension is over. The Belichick, Schiano relationship probably played a big part in it but it’s a risk and one that I hope goes the Dillon route. I don’t really care about low round draft picks but it’s a good deal for the Bucs as well.

Simmons has an article on it yet? Don't read that fecker or listen to his podcasts much since he went all corporate with this Grantland thingy. It doesn't feel like Billy is one of us anymore.

feck commerce!!

Redskins will be wearing throwback uniforms today to honour their 80th anniversary, they look miles better than the steelers throwbacks from last week (which isnt that difficult)

I'm loving the leather look helmet

A reminder of the steelers throwback for anyone who missed it

Interesting stat about the Cowboys/Falcons game. Dating back to 1991 (because of how rare it is apparently), no other team has faced three opponents with records of 7-0 or better and won each time. Dallas has done this including twice in recent years. The other interesting stat - each team Dallas beat in this scenario won the Super Bowl that same season. So put your bets on Dallas winning today.

1991 @ Washington, 11-0 : Dallas, 24-21 (Redskins finished 14-2)
2006 Indianapolis, 9-0 : Dallas, 21-14 (Colts lost three of final six, finished 12-4)
2009 @ New Orleans, 13-0 : Dallas, 24-17 (Saints dropped next two, finished 13-3)

Controversy avoided in the Newton v RG3 game as refs blew whistle BUT the RB clearly not out of bounds. 7-3 Newton leading.

Not seen much of either player myself but I find Newton to be the more arrogant of the 2 whilst RG3 looks to be a better passer.

Newton still acts like juvenile and may take more years to mature mentally; Griffin appears more grounded and far more mature mentally. It's kinda like Leaf versus Manning.
