Neymar joins PSG on a five year deal

Will they come knocking for Herrera, how much for you to consider. Surely £55m or more and we'd have to think...

Its funny seeing Barce in meltdown but it's a great deal for them. They can use this money to strengthen key areas in the squad.

I bet come Sep 1st they have a stronger squad than last year. They'll add a future world star (Mbappe or Dybala) and also a top quality midfielder in the 60m range and still have change to add to their defence.

Doubt it. Herrera is not what they need, Coutinho is more like it. Even then Herrera will stay here, he's an important Jose player and he also genuinely loves the club.

Don't PSG need a centre midfielder now that Motta is old and Mautudi is leaving? Trying to remember off hand who else they have, Rabiot, Verratti..who else?

Lo Celso and Nkunku, if they manage to get rid of everyone, they will have the possibility to bring someone too.

Well am guessing they'll improve / future proof multiple positions with that war chest.

Not going to be that easy for them though, clubs will know they've got a mountain of cash, so they'll ramp the prices up and not budge on them.

Perhaps, but there's no way I can see us selling Herrera. As before he's a key player, and he himself wants to stay I'm sure. Don't forget we are not far off the start of the League so I very much doubt we'd let Herrera go now as we'd leave ourselves with little time to replace him.

We should for in for Neymar. Everything we need right now.

Wants to be the main man. Will certainly be thay at United, and he'll be playing in a competetive league.

Make it happen, Woody!

I don't really know how good those two are but they do seem light in midfield unless Pastore drops to CM

They are not light in midfield unless they sell players and in that case they can bring in someone else.

Rabiot
Verratti
Motta
Lo Celso
Nkunku
Pastore (he sometimes plays as a CM)
Krychowiak
Ben Arfa (#10)
Youth: Roli Pereira & Habran

This La Liga bullshit is ridiculous. It would be them breaching the rules, not PSG.

Btw. this has happened to Barcelona before. I mean it isn't, looking at the last few years, but looking at the past they've already lost two times their best players by other clubs triggering their release clauses. Ronaldo to Inter, Figo to Real and now Neymar to PSG. It was a long time ago but I don't remember that ever happening to Real.

Also, when I think about it, maybe Barcelona will go for Hazard. Left wing, would suit Barcelona style and most importantly, he's the only one who is such a prick that is capable to force the transfer in an ugly way.

When Barca were blatantly courting Veratti last month, felt inevitable he would end up there. So when PSG put him firmly back in his box, I was v impressed.
Then they basically give Barca a lesson by taking Neymar, this is a seismic shift for PSG.

It's not a great deal for them at all. Neymar is a world icon who's ridiculously talented plus hugely marketable too.

Put it this way: If Pogba leaves tomorrow for some club for the price of 170m Euros, would you be happy about it?

Absolutely insane transfer that I didnt think could happen. PSG and their state backed cash is a problem (City with Abu Dhabi as well) imo and some further regulations are needed.

At the end of the day though its up to the players you cant really blame Neymar for accepting such an offer it would be almost idiotic not to. He will be the face of a franchise thats competing in the CL and almost guaranteed to win the league which is quite weaker than La Liga.

Barca should be relatively fine, they still have Messi and Suarez and they'll get a crazy amount money upfront. Their comments and actions right now are simply because they got slapped in the face as they thought that the release clause is out of reach for anyone and the whole Verrati saga.

Perez signed Ancelotti from PSG and kept good relationship with them. Now he is letting PSG move payment for Jese to next year so it can help them with FFP and signing Neymar. He also said NO to Barca anti PSG initiative.

The day you want to see will never come.

It's a fabricated story. Whether they make payment now or last year won't matter.

Apparently Neymar was very close to joining Manchester United. Feck, that would've been the most muppetastic signing although looking at his past, he could have just as easily been another Di Maria.
We've got tony martial.

To be fair, they're not really selling him... they don't have a choice if his release clause is activated.
They could try their best to persuade him to stay, but if his head is turned, then they're pretty much fighting a losing battle.

Makes me happy that our players don't have a release clause.

Its hilarious. Barca started the summer thinking they will get one of most important PSG players in Verratti. How the table has turned and now they are losing their most valuable player and a likely future world player of the year.

Not to mention the fact that they will have to part with most of that money on a player who is no where as good in Coutinho.

Good one by PSG.

Why did they put a €222m clause there in the first place when they had already invested well over €100m in him before he signed that contract? While that might have seemed like obscene amount of money, it was something that was within realms of possibility for a young elite player.

His clause was 'just' €180m last summer. That was our chance.

Hmm I guess. Think future Barca contracts will have release clauses more in line with Real's exorbitant ones.
