A front 3 of Rashford, Lukaku and Neymar is enough to give me that funny feeling downstairs.
What was it he said, "some serious financial muscel flexing" Might of omited the financial actually IIRCMaybe that is the marquee signing Collymore was talking about?
Or so I fecking wish.
Its been long reported that they can not afford to sing and keep all 3 of MSN and give them improved contracts. That one will have to go or not get a better deal and Messi was the one that could leave as he is nto the player he was and will be on the slide as the years go by. But we already know its not him.It sort of makes sense from Barcelona's perspective. Neymar is obviously a phenomenal player, but selling him - more importantly getting his large wage off the sheets - would make them a lot stronger in fixing the rest of the side. Aren't they constantly hamstrung in going for players because Messi, Neymar, and Suarez take an audacious sum of wages between them?
He might still be accurate, in he was informed, but that he's just being played.Di Marzio is usually spot on but this is bollocks.
Love it
Think there is anything in it?
This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've seen a reference to his sister's birthday.......what gives...?Could be like others have suggested, a retaliatory way to attempt to unsettle a Barcelona player the way Verratti has his head turned. PSG is a Brasilian haven more & more and Neymar has two of his closest teammates there in T.Silva & Alves. Player would have to want to move and despite rumours now coming out of him not wanting to stay in Leo's shadow, I think he actually enjoys the relationship at Barcelona. But Neymar Sr. et al know the best way to grow your brand is to make big moves like this
The first signs of the cracks in the relationship with fans started this year though and tied to the annual retreat he has come to be known for with his sister's birthday

He's very close to his sister and usually makes sure he's suspended when her birthday's coming up so he can go to Brazil. Or something.

Cersei & Jaime scenario? No idea. He misses matches around March 11 (Sister's bday)
which only PSG can offer, and apparently, are offeringBarcelona should surprise him but benching him for the game before so he can't get that yellow/red card for the suspension.
On the topic, I doubt Neymar would go even if PSG pays the release clause. He's just angling for a Messi like contract
which only PSG can offer, and apparently, are offering
Actually, i've read their revenue for 2016/17 was €708M, with a profit of €18M before taxesHope Barca gets desperate and breaks their wage structure for him.
Then it all spirals out of control.
To be honest, Neymar deserves the big contract more that Messi. Barcelona should've cashed in with Messi
yeah I suspect he will end up signing a new contract at some point this year with a much bigger buy out clause (and wages)Money is crazy in football now, Neymar being unsettled is nothing new. If there is a chance we should go all in. He's amazing and we wouldn't be worrying about goals. Doubt he'll go, Barca losing a bit of power in the transfer window.
I sincerely disagree. To be honest, Neymar deserves the big contract more that Messi. Barcelona should've cashed in with Messi
I sincerely disagree.
Why?Di Marzio's rep has taken a hit this window imo.
He had arguably his best/second best season last year and if he leaves it will be back to Argentine in 3-4 years time I would imagine. In fact the presence of messi is one of the main reasons I don't see Neymar leaving. That's fine, just my opinion.
Messi is a great player but his shelf life is limited. Maybe he has 5 years left (if that) at the top?
If his new contract is putting a massive strain on the wage structure and potentially causing Neymar to go else where, then I think Barcelona would be better off cashing in on Messi and keeping Neymar.
And with the astronomical fee that Messi would have commanded, Barcelona could've funded massive improvements to the team.
Why?
All he said about Morata was that we were negotiating, which Mourinho confirmed. Was wrong about Morata iirc and now this. No club is going to pay this kinda dough for one player, no matter who it is.

About €550m turnover and growing with around 55% wages to turnover ratio, which leaves some margin for investment. How rich are PSG?
Few years ago they refused to pay 60m for Di Maria because of FFP
