Neymar Da Silva

And first option on Ganso? :(

That would be an awesome deal for Barcelona if true, they've been very good in the market lately and they would basically secure two of the most promising Brazilians. Barcelona are run very wisely, Afellay is another good buy for them even if he's going to serve as back-up.

Ibrahimovic and that Ukrainian lad were pretty big flops, to be fair. Mascherano looks a pointless signing as well.

Barcelona contrata Neymar, diz AS

My portuguese isn't that great but I think they're getting close to a deal on him as well.

Barcelona (and Madrid) continuing their monopoly on quality young footballers. I wonder if Keirrison will be part of the deal.

Oooh hang on. Looks like they might have struck a deal of first refusal after all on Ganso.

In english (courtesy of a very bad google translate)

"AS says that Barcelona has acquired, through the years, a right of first refusal on the player. This means that the Catalans have advantages over potential competitors by the number 10 shirt if the Saints agreed to release it before the end of his contract which runs until 2014."

There's another hyped up one mainly because he does the seal thing but i've forgotten his name. Is he that Kerrison?

Never heard of his antics. Mind telling more?

Too much show-boating, and probably spoiled, he doesn't seem to be very appreciated by his fellow players.

Santos coach once decided to punish him for "lack of discipline" leaving him out of a single game and was quickly fired for it.

He does look like a punchable prick.

Neymar looks very good but I don't think he's a cert to be the next big thing.

And aren't these just 'reports' by AS, the heavily pro-Barcelona paper?

AS is from Madrid, you're confusing it with El Mundo Deportivo.

It's just rumours, regardless. The one thing that is a fact is that Barcelona has first-option over Ganso when they decide to sell him.

as with most brazilian, they're overrated and cnuts until proven otherwise.

for 30M we can get an established players, bastien, neuer, rodwell, benzema (you can't keep him happy for long). The least we need is a robinho.

Very talented, but also a massive risk given how much he will cost (25 - 30 million probably). I would rather we get Ganso. He's better suited for life in Europe given his frame and we need a midfielder who can pass more then we need a tricky forward who may / may not be able to deal with the physical nature of the premier league (at least for the first year or two).

Rather have Giuliano than Ganso anyway, and I'm more than happy with the strikers we have.

Yeah it's getting a bit worrysome this. For the other big teams in Europe like us as well as for the health of the Spanish league.

The law of supply and demand, they can only field 11 players on the field still, and there's only so much they can take.

besides, we take the fruit of their scouting as well, pique, macheda, to name a few. Even arse's captain is the product of barca youth (CMIIW)

True, but as things stand they have the best team around and seem to be adding the best talents, which is rather scary. Hopefully some of these players don't fulfill their promise.

I'm more worried about those brazilian kiddos are more interested in living in Spain rather than England.

If only we can make ourselves favorable in the non footballing department, I'm sure we're no smaller than Barcelona

PS: they won't be the best forever, the wheel will keep on turning, we've had ours in the 1999 treble winning squad. That team was so balance, and perfect for me, it's not flashy as Barcelona of the presence, but boy that was some team we have there.

Pretty gutted by this.

I'd like to think we tried to sign him, but i'm guessing we didn't. Is a transfer fee mentioned?

Not too many decent left wing talents out there!! A great signing for anyone!

Its hardly a suprise that young lads from south america feel more at home in Spain. The weather, the lifestyle and the type of football played on the continent is and always will be more attractive that the PL.

Not that many Brazilians come over here in the first place and those who do don't tend to do much anyway.

Is it just me who thinks Neymar still has it all to prove? There's something just really unconvincing about him.

I agree. Still he's a damned good prospect.

Dont all young brazillians on the verge of moving to europe still have it all to prove?

I thought the same thing with Robinho.

Undeniable.

I'm convinced Ganso's going to make it even though I've only seen him 5 times. Ridiculous I know.

I've seen him more times and Giuliano is still my bet. Ganso has a possibility of greatness, as does many a player. Giuliano is solid in his game, not as fancy but more effective.

I've only seen Giuliano play one full game but that was when he scored a goal in the Copa Libertadores final and I didn't think he looked all that. Saw him come off the bench against USA and he looked good again but nothing special. Given how unspectacular he is it's strangely impressive that he's highly rated in Brazil so I'll look out for him a bit more.

Seriously check the lad out. He plays consistently better. The only way I can describe him to people to make them get an idea of him, is as a Gerrard type of player.

Neymar is younger than Ganso, hence he has more time. Plus Neymar is already making more noise than Ganso is.

Neymar & Nani on either flank.. make it happen Lord.

He's tearing Scotland a new one today, full of tricks and pace.

Big career ahead of him.

First time I've seen him live, so much more to his game than I imagined, he'll be a huge star at Barcelona in a couple of years time.

Haven't seen much of him but i can surely say he's god on Fifa11, amazing pace and finishing:devil:
