Next PM | #NoMoBoJo | Still hanging around like a bad smell

I dont think any of the candidates will unify this shower.. good news for Labour. The fact that some of them call Rishi a Socialist tells you all you need to know.
Indeed... Boris will no doubt get a column and attack his successor (especially if rishi) mogg and dorries will be moaning from the back benches... The erg will be spitting feathers if we don't end up in a trade war over Northern Ireland

It's going to take a pretty skillful candidate to fix that and I'm not sure any of them will manage it... Especially with a week of debates and trying to cut deals / spin and leak kompramat

Delightful

That said never put it past labour to do something stupid and shoot themselves in the foot (letting Corbyn back in or something equally daft)

Penny Mordaunt has been given a fantastic endorsement by Lord Frost who led the Brexit negotiations. So obviously he should be listened to shouldn't he.
He is backing Liz Truss and called Mordaunt incompetent.
She is therefore ideally suited to replace the most incompetent PM in history, Boris Johnson.

Ah yes the unelected bureaucrat Lord Frost, who negotiated a Brexit deal and then said it was shite.

Liz Truss looks like a butler at the end of a long night.

Well. They were all asked Is Boris Johnson honest. All apart from 1 waffled and did not give a straight answer.
But Tom Tugenhat shook his head.
Thus far, he is the only one who is telling like it is.

Kemi is winning the debate for me.

Tom is making me cringe with his pauses for effect. Embarrassing stuff.

Penny is a miserable fecker.

Will hit with the general public and audience, but probably won’t do him much good for the leadership vote.

Rishi is that guy at the group interview who is mud slinging.

Sunak is being lectured on the economy and taxation and borrowing by the others, especially Truss. He is not doing at all well. Neither is Mordaunt.

Tugendhat playing it well, doubt he stays in the hunt but he’s made a couple of great points and made Rishi squirm.

The two candidates most likely to be out the race next Tugendhat and Kemi have done the best here I think. Not been impressed with Mordaunt, she's struggling a bit.

Think he's ruled himself out of a rishi or truss cabinet with his raised eyebrows and comments..

Agree he's probably out in the next vote but will be interesting to see where his supporters go...mordaunt? ... would put her very close to rishi numbers if most of them did

The whole debate is an embarrassing charade. None of them give a shite about the NHS. Will all privatise it even more at the drop of a hat and refuse to recruit enough staff or pay nurses properly while making vomit inducing platitudes about honouring doctors and nurses during covid to score political points.

Anyone who votes Conservative is complicit in the last 12 years of chaos and more to come.

Channel 4 have done Mordaunt over a bit here. Introducing her as a former magicians assistant was amusing and then spotlighting the gender recognition lie/non lie.

She’s struggled I feel.

Mordaunt was stilted. Sunak sounded like Blair.

Tugendhat came across well and got the best reaction out of the audience, but we know he won't appeal to grassroot voters.

Badenoch benefited from not being a 'legacy' candidate. Spoke plainly at times and you can't underestimate the power that has.

That is pretty much how I saw it as well.
Vote for me.
Not a chance as far as I am concerned.
Was I won over by any of them.
Not a chance.
Let's remember one thing. They were all part of a totally dysfunctional government led by a compulsive liar and wide boy. And they all supported him and cheered for him.
None of them are going to change anything. Except for who is PM.

Horrid isn’t it. For two more years and the public has no say.

The country needs a general election.
I don't think the British public want a general election. What they want is the will of the people fulfilled as we deliver a prosperous Brexit, repair the damage caused by Covid and the war, keep levelling up our NHS and continue to get people into jobs which is at record levels. Or some shite

I can’t wait for the DM, Telegraph and Express to choose the next PM and at the same time complain about unelected representatives.
