I said it in the ten Hag thread that the worry for me isn't getting it done, but backing him properly. Retaining Rangnick in an appropriate role which he bares influence on making decisions is the key to this appointment being a successful one.
For once even the fans can clearly see that despite results tailing off, Rangnick is who we need having an influence at the club. I've never seen the manager choice be this clear from the fans.
I suspect its because we've all reached realisation that it's not the manager but the players fault now. And we need a manager that can do an efficient overhaul that leaves a good long term squad.
