Interviews and decisions are taking too long. That adds to the feeling of indecision at the top levels within United, and/or tale wagging the dog.

You’re probably being tongue in cheek but I actually agree with this. Enrique was bad at Roma, decent at Celta and then yeah he won the treble at Barca but history really forgets how little of it was down to him. We all remember MSN being an outrageous front 3 but it wasn’t actually always like that - Enrique had them playing with Suarez out wide and Messi down the middle. It was Messi and Suarez themselves who had a chat mid game and decided to switch positions, so it was far from a coaching masterclass from Enrique. I don’t think anyone can be really sure what his level as a manager actually is.

I agree with your take. I think he still has a bit to prove to put him in the elite bracket.

Spain always played like that. Who is better in building a team without so many transfers? I feel ETH is that man. Enrique can easily take over from Pep and do it. Can he do the same with this United team or can he build a team? This is what is needed at United.

You really are choosing Ten Hag over Enrique?

It was a genuine question.:)

It'll be the downfall of Ten Hag if he gets the job and takes the 'nice guy' approach to try and coach what we have already. These players will take the absolute piss out of him and he will fail.

Whoever gets the job must be under no illusions that over the next 2-3 years there will be a big rebuild required.

They want Pochettino, it's so obvious its unreal. Make it imminent, stop wasting time with your amateur approach.

I am more worried about the players than any manager we get. Think most of the managers quoted could do a good job. However these players are all sweetness and light when a new manager comes in, they are the best thing since sliced bread, until the first hiccup or a big name is dropped. I pity any manager if they don't have a clear out.

I'm really not getting why Enrique is such an obvious choice? He had that incredible season at Barcleona 7/8 years when he had MSN upfront.

They want Poch and Kane.

If we do that we're fecked. We're Spurs rejects.

Imagine the Spurs changing room...

"Lads, it's Spurs rejects".

How is it obvious? Have they appointed him? If they wanted Poch so badly, why would there be so much noise around Ten Hag? Why isn't Poch appointed then?

Fans really need to calm down, ETH has a contract with Ajax, he is not a free agent. Ajax are in a title race, why would they want to upset anything.

Stop being a entitled United fan.

If we end up dragging this into the summer where we end up with Poch and spunking most of our budget on Kane then I think I’m done. We’re being completely destroyed by these inept parasites.

Why rush it? Strange logic, if the process is now taking its due course it means indecision...

So much impatience by our fanbase its unreal.

How am I being an entitled United fan? I'm simply asking that the board do their job. I've applauded the fact that they decided to do due dilligence on managerial candidates for a change, but why are they only doing it now? Solskjaer was sacked months ago, and only now do we start the process, why wasn't all of this put in place months ago? By now we'd have a clear idea of who we would want and have a potential, if not quiet, agreement with that manager until the season ended. Instead we've done the typical United thing and dithered and dithered, now we are interviewing managers, one who's playing style is awful, one who won't be able to leave the Spanish squad until mid way throguh next season meaning we'd throw another one away. So we have the choice between Ten Hag and Pochettino, we're gambling with Ten Hag interviewing him and saying 'just wait' whilst other teams are circling around him like vultures, we can't honestly expect him to just wait on our beck and call when he's a wanted man.

How many years have we had to hear that the United board covet Pochettino, couple everything i've said above with this information that's been readily available for years and you'll see why it's obvious. There's more noise around Ten Hag because they've actually interviewed him and he's more readily available than Pochettino who's stuck with PSG who are probably unwilling to let us get a proper interview with him, so its quiet. Maybe they'll pleasently surprise me by getting Ten Hag soon, but the fact they keep saying oh no rush, nothings imminent etc just tells me they are waiting to see if PSG sack Pochettino

I would also like to know why it's obvious, but no one can provide an answer..

I've just accepted it's one of the Cafs little mysteries

Few tweets is all it takes. Also someone said board wants Kane and thats it, narrative is made.

Who is doing the interviews? Could they be described as competant?

Perhaps nothing being imminent is due to the fact that all of the aforementioned managers are all contracted to a job. It's impossible for United to sign them right now.

Fans are causing a lot of noise over speculation and getting themselves worked up. Just be patient. And in the meantime, enjoy the battle for 4th (5th... 6th..?)

Some very concerning reports today about how we are 'taking our time' with the appointment, and want Kane regardless of who the manager will be.

Have always thought that Poch is the man the board want and they will string us along into thinking they are conducting a thorough process but ultimately he is the man they will appoint. Of course they'll wait until PSG have sacked him as well so they don't have to pay the comp fee.

This is what's going on in my opinion.

If rumours are to be believed, I don't get why our board are so hung up on Pochettino.

Don't get me wrong, I won't unhappy if we get him, I just can't quite understand why we're so desperate to get him.

We’re probably trying to figure out how to pay out Poch.

Bottlers as always, never learn from mistakes.

These stories today scream 'we have no new information and it's an international break'.

This has been the story of their lives since SAF retired. They takes ages to make decisions, to sort out transfers, to hire and sack people etc…

They do most things at snail pace. Then they try to make you believe that there is a “process” behind everything. And some people actually believe it. There is no process. They are just slow and incompetent.

If that happens then there is no hope unless the glazers are gone. Same underperforming players will get rewarded fat new contract because the replacement will cost more money.

Dream for the board, good PR man who doesn't spend much money and had a good record of getting top 4. It's depressingly obvious what is going on, and also obvious that Poch will be our next manager.

Okay let me ask you one thing. Can you name the other teams circling like Vultures? And why they haven't appointed him as manager already then?

Also you do realise the club need Ajax's permission to interview their manager? Why would any club give permission mid season when they were in the CL and a title race, as soon as they went out the CL, they interviewed him.

The club have taken 3/4 months looking at manager and decided they want to interview 3/4 managers.

The club is doing its due diligence, just because Poch is not in favour with you, that doesn't mean he isn't a good manager. They still would like to see what he has to say in the interview in respects of how he can get United winning again.

It would be silly for the club to say, we want to interview 1 man only and give 1 man the job. Even if the club appointed ETH now, what difference is it going to make? We just need to make sure by May we have a manager. We don't know the conversations that the club have had with anyone.

Or they want Enrique and are happy to keep Rangnick till he can take over

How is it so obvious? Because some people on our board rate Poch? Because what you read it on twitter?

I read on twitter that United like the way Ten Hag will approach the squad to build a playstyle

I have read that some people admire Luis Enrique.

So you must have a direct line with the Glazers because its so obvious to you.

How plastic would I be if I dont support Pochettino if appointed? Having watched his PsG side, it gives me close to zero confidence in believing that he is the man to take us forward. I wouldn’t be able to get behind him and I am not sure how to feel about that.

They are waiting for Poch, aren’t they ?
Also, I don’t know why people are praising this approach of united board interviewing different managers. To me this says they are absolutely clueless about this whole process. They don’t have a Scooby doo what they want to do regarding the football side of the things and and are more interested in who will fit in their profile, the type they want.

If you are serious about football and building the club only then we don’t see that much confusion. You move Rangnick upstairs , give him the power and you go and get ten hag. If not then you hire Poch, maintain status quo and hope he wins you stuff whilst keep on prioritising other things.

It would probably be deemed as plastic but I’ll be right there with you. I just can’t get excited for the next season with him, and will just be patiently waiting for him to inevitably get sacked so we could get over our weird infatuation with him.

I'd be okay with this to be honest. I like the way the current Spain team plays, they don't have big stars but they play a cohesive brand of possession football and also press really well, if we're looking for identity on the pitch, I'd rather we go this way.
