Again messi, haaland, mbappe, Lewandowski, anyone really doesn't press. They understand that the goalscorer is employed, expected and paid to score.Of course, they are thinking straight. If you want to play a high press game you can't do that with Ronaldo upfront. So bringing in a manager whose specially is that kind of football makes no sense as they won't be able to play it here.

This is from the Leicester Mercury, and theres a lot of buz down here that he’s going.

Yeah of course he does.Haaland does.
I'm not in a Poch only camp or writing of Ten Hag but you are hypocritical in your post.
Firstly, you mention this 2 horse race that Poch bottled? Spurs started the season with 2 draws and a loss, after 9 games they were 7 points behind CIty who were top and 5 points behind Leicester and United.
After 20 games which is over midway, they were 4 points behind Leicester and 6 behind Arsenal. Again, where you get this 2 horse race from ?
From being points behind 25 games in they were level with Arsenal and one point above City. 5 behind Leicester. So this thing where people say it was Only Leicester and spurs is a myth.
Poch took over midway and they were 3rd so its not like they were top and he lost the league, which he probably win this year anyway.
Also isnt Ten Hag the one who lost out to Poch being 3-0 in the second leg?
Ten Hag plays good football but is also a very naive manager when it comes to defensive tactics, we have seen that with Ajax. He isn't guaranteed to win anything with us either.
Part of the problem? Come on mate.Would be a massive fek off to the fans to appoint Bodger. Basically saying we are going to carry on dishing up shit to you because we know you will pay regardless.
PSG don't play high press though right now. This is part of their problem. I don't know what happens in Germany - they do things differently there.
This is my worry.. Have heard a lot of murmurs and fan reports that he's house hunting in Knutsford. This is the rumour that just won't go away.https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/...ews/man-utd-brendan-rodgers-leicester-6240573

Assuming that you think ETH is the shrewd appointment? I don’t disagree, but I think it’s between these two now with Zidane clearly uninterested.
Honestly, I’d be happy with either but we know SAF is a big fan of Poch so I think it will be him. We should do all we can to get him bedded in this season.
I would like Ten Hag or Enrique. Bit left field but is also be keen on Mancini if he could be tempted before the World Cup.
Hasn’t he won a cup in France? Plus they’re 11 points clear at the top of their league.Spurs were clearly the best team and squad in the league alongside Leicester that year. After 30 games they were what? 6 points clear of a flaky Arsenal side and chasing down Leicester hard.
In the end, they fell apart and finished 3rd behind a bang average Arsenal side.
That was their year to win something and they didn't. That Poch has gone to PSG and still managed not to win anything isn't doing anything to make that seem like bad luck.
Glad it won't be him.
This. Both are quite exciting prospects and would no doubt improve what is happening on the pitch. If the shortlist is either of these two, I'm not going to quibble of which one. Both appeal for slightly different reasons.People will always moan.
But if the choice is either Pochettino or Ten Hag, then I am absolutely delighted with that.

Haha, I love Slot, but he's way too small for United. He does well with sub top Dutch clubs so far, but he's really a nobody in world football.@KirkDuyt how highly you rate Arne Slot could he be a gamble worth taking next season for United if he does well this season or he needs to take more intermediate step .
And how does compare against Ten Hag style wise .
I won't sleep until he's tied up until 2030.He's contracted to Leicester until 2025, if that eases your worries?
Mind you his job's not entirely secure, so I'm praying Leicester don't sack him, nor do we pay out his clause.
City did it in similar duration and starting from a far worse situation than us. Setting up a structure doesn't take 8 years at a start up, let alone one which is a multi billion dollar establishment.

Everyone will shoot you down because of the City link.

I don't give a feck about City.
They're not a real football club that make me care about grudges or rivalries like Liverpool or even Arsenal.

We all thought that on Saturday night when Castles was tweeting.Too good to be true
The variety and (good) nature of the debate on this this thread, really confirms to me anyway, that we need to take a bit of time about this. I am not sure about the guy at Ajax, nor Poch (right now), and the ZZ move just 'feels' wrong.
I would rather see how the land lies a bit. If Carrick can get us playing with a bit more devil, and organisation, then I'll take that, because Ole has left us in a mess.
We should not force this, because this will attract opportunists. Unfortunately, we are no longer under any pressure of expectation to actually win anything this season, so I would let Carrick sort out what he can. He's tarred by the Ole-brush, for sure, but he has to sort that out because he will be aware of that. Do some press inteviews, tell people what he feels and what he plans. Define himself as the current coach and as an individual.
But he needs to clear that coaching mob out.
I agree. We could have easily done similar. Putting this on SAF not setting up a structure (not sure if you are insinuating it) is lazy. The Board had ample time to set it straight. They just refused to see what was in front of them as they are all money grabbing a******.That's kind of wrong they didn't start from scratch and they never did it with inexperienced people. In 2012, they brought Soriano as CEO and Begiristain as DOF, the two of them were key people at Barcelona in the same roles and are the backbone of the club.
Get it done. Best option available if he’s willing to come right now.
It's definitely an attempt to grease some wheels and I like it.Wonder if this is also an attempt to see how loyal Ten Hag really is to Ajax too

Would be brilliant if he'd ever reach the level of United, but I don't see it
I prefer Ten Hag, but if Poch is willing to jump ship now them bring him in ASAP. Let him bring Veratti/Paredes with him too.
