Ten Hag for me. I love the way his Ajax team plays and he makes players better and teams better than the sum of their parts. Poch I think is a decent choice…..but should we accept decent?

Yeah, there is zero point trying to implement a pressing game at the club while Ronaldo is here, it won't work. The job, while Ronaldo is at the club, is to play a system and style that best suits him, People can hate on that idea all they want but that is the situation because you can't drop Ronaldo because of the absolute S*** storm that would follow which would completely engulf the club.

So that is the job of the manager is to put out a team that best complements Ronaldo at this point of his career, which means trying to create a pressing team is pointless.

Well then no point in having Poch or EVT as manager?

Ten Hag. Haven't wanted anyone else for months now, and each name that comes up makes my toes curl. Conte, Zidane, Mancini, Pochettino....

His managerial career, style, philosophy, temperament, adaptability, youth promotion is all there. A modern day manager, just waiting to be snapped up. The only manager I want. A manager I honestly can see being a proper success at Manchester United. Lifting league and European cups.

But I know, we will end up with Pochettino. Not happy at PSG. They want him gone. They prefer Zidane. Zidane wanted nothing to do with us. His family still live in England. United like him (liked Ole too, and that worked out great.). United wont have the patience to hold out until next summer, and will go all in for Poch. I will hope for the best of course, and always support the team, but i cannot say I will be excited for when Poch arrives.

If we can get Pochettino now we should 100%.

This interim manager stuff for 6 months was only acceptable because a target wasn’t available. It’s far from ideal.

Poch being available now and having the rest of this season to really get to grips with the team and the job is very tempting. I don't understand why people are shitting all over him to be honest. He was brilliant at Spurs

Most of the posters in here were watching attacking football under Ole for the last 3 years

Seriously though, couldn't be happier with Poch, my number one choice for a long time. I wanted him to come after the Moyes debacle, finally the time is now

Just buyout Ten Hag. Everything has a price. If he is not keen, make him keen. I refuse to believe otherwise. Tell him he can bring whoever he wants in the summer.

I don't see an outstanding candidate. Rodgers and Poch have achieved nothing of note between them, but would no doubt be 100x better than Ole. We have to be careful "better than Ole" isn't the standard. I really don't follow Dutch football closely enough to be certain of Ten Hag, but to me he's a massive risk. Success in the Netherlands hardly translates well to the Premier League. O know Ajax have had some decent runs in Europe but that's cup competition. The challenges of the Premier League are totally different.
Unfortunately, and I feel so pessimistic saying this, but I don't see any really attractive candidate at the moment. And I don't trust the club to do what is required. Carrick, Phelan, McKenna, Fletcher etc. all need to go too. What top manager would want to work with Darren Fletcher as Technical Director?! What are his credentials to fill that role at a top club.

Klopp isn't a long term manager? He was at Mainz at 7 years and BVB 7 years before joining Liverpool. He wasn't part of the managerial merry go round like Conte is.

Ofcourse it'll be decided by results who'll stay or go but with Conte you know he'll be gone in 3 years. Because that is what happens everywhere he goes. When you have a viable alternative like Poch or Ten Haag available it doesn't make sense to put yourself through that.

Yeah we can do all that but why? Why not get a manager who aligns with our playing style and one which we have a squad for. It would make sense to gut our squad and start afresh if Conte were to stick around for a long time but not for 3 years. Our aim should be continued and sustainable success not gutting the squad every time a manager is sacked.
But we didn't, did we? Right now we are managerless precisely because Pochettino and Ten Hag aren't available just as they weren't four weeks ago so do you think we are now better off that we didn't take the 'short term option' when failure this season will also impact what we can do long term?

Conte was an option after the Liverpool match, now he is no longer and some could say the damage has already been done. Tomorrow we go to Villareal for a must win game with an Interim interim manager, something we could have avoided if we had acted four weeks ago.

So what if he leaves after three seasons, having brought us some success? It didn't seem to hamper Chelsea, Bayern/Madrid do it regularly so what's the point of refusing the best available option for fear of conflict or short termism when its exactly what is happening to us due to hiring inadequate managers?

Poch now 100%. My favourite is Zidane who doesn't want the job. I'd also take Ten Hag but unless he guarantees to join us in summer we should be going for Poch now and feck this interim bollocks.

I would say at least 90% of those listed are not interested in the managers job here now.
The media are just throwing in names to sell papers.
We should wait until the summer and see who is really interested for long term. Then go for who is best suited.

I'd rather get Ten Hag in the summer than Poch now.

I just worry about Poch. He likely peaked and I don't find his PSG side entertaining to watch.

Gonna keep banging interim until the summer then Ten Hag drum, however think the club are ignoring that option. Would be absolutely gutted if he ends up replacing Pep at City as I fear

Making the semi-finals with Ajax while dominating Real Madrid and Juventus and being 1 kick away from the CL final isn't a decent run.

It's not like they fluked it there.

Anyone is a risk. Nothing is guaranteed.

Pochettino knocked out Pep's City from the champions league with Tottenham of all clubs. Yes they had Kane but they also started Sissoko, Wanyama and Winks in midfield. I don't remotely understand the idea of turning our noses at him.

Yeah same here but the club see determined to make him the no 1 target

It wouldn't surprise me if we ignore him, then he goes to City and continues Pep's work.

He should be the number 1 target. Poach Van Der Sar and Overmars too. It's time to get serious. Enough of the nepotism at this club.

Prefacing this with: I'd want Ten Hag over poch.

Hypothetical:
Ten Hag at the end of the season but maybe means we keep Carrick as interim for the rest of the season.
Or
Poch now

Exactly. And the thought of just writing the season off should not be entertained with the squad we have. We can still challenge for the CL and the FA Cup, and while we're 12 points behind Chelsea, we are still in November. No reason why we can't at least be competitive in the league.

Go all out for a competent, long term manager now. Pay whatever compensation is needed. We've spent so much on useless players, so surely paying a few million in compensation for a manager is worth the chance of saving the season.

Because don't want City nabbing Ten Hag

If we aren't getting a manager immediately, I don't understand why we bothered sacking Solskjaer. Surely the coaching staff (Carrick, McKenna, Phelan etc) just as culpable for our form and results as Ole who even stated he wasn't in charge of the training? We have removed Solskjaer and put Carrick in temporary charge? What's the point? Unless the club thinks Ole was solely responsible, I am struggling to understand what's going on here? If we are going with an interim for the rest of the season, we might aswell have kept him.

Fully agree, got sacked with Spurs in 14th and didn't win a trophy in his time there for all the plaudits.

Even as some mention, his time at Southampton and early years at Spurs, his sides were good to watch, but is he realistically going to get Rashford, Martial, Ronaldo, Greenwood and Sancho pressing as those teams did? I don't think he will and that's where it will fall apart for him and pretty fast.

This is what Im wondering.

I don't really like his PSG club but it's not really Pochettino's players or tactics either - a bit like Tuchel at PSG.

Pochettino got to a CL final with Tottenham and Tuchel got there with PSG.

If Pochettino can maybe do well in the CL, then I think I might give him the benefit of the doubt that he could help United get going with a more balanced approach towards his tactics and types of players he can target.

Other teams have knocked out Pep's City from the Champions League too.

His Tottenham side completely capitulated during 1 title race in the weakest Premier League season ever. They also amounted to nothing in the CL final, and then they suffered a disastrous start under Poch the following season.

He failed to win Ligue 1 with PSG last season and they capitulated in the 2nd leg at the Etihad in the Champions League.

His work at Tottenham was very good. People wanted to see him with a more expensive squad. He has it at PSG and I think they flatter to deceive.

PSG isn't an easy club to succeed at because of the club's politics itself, but I worry about Poch. I don't think Tottenham played eye-pleasing attractive football.

Poch now. IMO Ten Hag hasn't proven anything to suggest he's a much better choice than Poch. And in getting Poch now we might salvage the rest of the season. And I think that weighs heavily.

If they were both available at the same time it's a toss up between to two for me.

Carrick as interim the remainder of the season would be a very tough pill to swallow, but I'd still opt for Ten Hag.

I'm Ten Hag or bust. I'm all aboard that train. I'd be devastated if we didn't bring him in.

Beginning to like the idea of Pochettino.

Even if Ten Hag did come to Utd (he’ll have other options) there’s no guarantees he’ll be a success.

Anyone but Rodgers.

Seems a straight shoot out now between Poch and ETH.

Zidane clearly not interested and has his eye something else.

Rodgers is Rodgers and would leave Leicester in a heartbeat for United if we showed solid interest which it seems thankfully we havent.

Why would Pochs want to leave PSG? They are like 11 points ahead to win the French league and will qualify in the CL next round.

So did Rudi Garcia at Lyon and he won the league with Lille - Would people turn their noses up at him? Abso-bloody-lutely. Poch is a nearly man and really not in great "form", I guess you'd call it. ETH is probably is in tremendous "form", but also has a lot more potential. I'd much rather wait for ETH.

I fear Pep will recommend Ten Hag to City when leaving, Bayern wanted Ten Hag. He fits with the whole Cruyff Pep Barca thing.

If we wanted a big change we should get Ten Hag.

People at the board really like the man Poch, respectful and really wants the job and nearly had it at one point but the club couldn't let Ole go.

Why would Pochs want to leave PSG? They are like 11 points ahead to win the French league and will qualify in the CL next round.

Tuchel had some big issues with what goes on there as well, it will be the same for Poch and he might want to jump ship into a club he really wants to manage in the PL. For Poch he'll sacrifice the short term circus for a possible long term he's much happier at.

There really is no other option for Ten Hag in the summer. Unless you think Arsenal(if they sack Arteta) are a more enticing option.

If we still don't have a manager, he will easily come here.

Idk about Poch. Whenever I check the scores, PsG is always drawing and they manage to nick a goal at the last minute.

Pochettino is only at 5% of the poll. That's miserable. Looks awful likely now though. The owners just want someone to keep the gravy train flowing. I'm not sure Poch is even capable of that, let alone winning any trophies.

Think it could be Poch then. If he can get away from PSG before January.

Hiring Pochettino now would be almost like hiring Jose in 2016.

We didn't do it 2-3 years earlier when we should have, so we'll opt for him now when more negatives have come out.

What could go wrong?
