next labour leader

Mainly just interested is seeing who makes up the shadow cabinet now. Just anyone but McDonnell as shadow chancellor, I beg you Jeremy.

And I never got sent a ballot! If the vote goes the way I'd like then I'll get over this. If not, I will be forced to rethink my allegiances. This thing has been a shambles from start to finish.
A farce. Did you follow up / ask them why they hadn't sent you a ballot at any point?

Who would you have voted for out of interest?

Several times and was assured i'd be sent it. Got my membership confirmed well in advance too.

I'm an old fashioned socialist, so would have voted for JC.

I believe I was supposed to receive it by post and failing that would get emailed that 'reminder' by Tuesday.

I have been checking my junk mail for the past few weeks.

Did you provide them with an email address? You could do the whole thing online, it took less than a minute.

Edit - Doh, missed all the other posts.

Turnout of 76% in the end, pretty huge. All that's still in question is whether Corbyn wins in the first round or second - I expect it to be the first.

Best day for British politics since before New Labour if Corbyn wins it.

Terrible day for the Labour party probably, but god knows its refreshing to have someone who stands for what they believe in in an era of snivelling careerists. Whatever happens and whatever your standpoint Corbyn has been a breath of fresh air.

I personally hope Corbyn wins. As it stands there's not much difference with Blairite Labour and the left/centrist Conservative MP's. The biggest issue going forward for Labour is uniting and Labour winning an election under Corbyn.

Tom Watson is elected deputy leader.

Tom Watson said "strength through unity" in his speech :D

Corbyn smashes it on the first round of voting with 59.5% of the votes.

Three times as many votes as second place Burnham. Wow.

Brilliant news. The amount of 20 somethings on my facebook who are over the moon with this speaks a lot to me. Corbyn is going to get a major political part of the country interested in politics.
