So has the roulette draft been decided upon? I'm up for anything but would prefer a draft which a wee bit more straightforward if possible.

Wouldn't mind that myself but think @Annahnomoss did a draft with a similar concept.

I just checked that draft. It was an auction draftish but with certain top players attracting points and you could only have a certain number of points per team. Forwards all attracted more points than defenders e.g. Romario 6pts, Der Kaiser 3pts to represent the relative importance in draft games.

I would just try and put certain players in tiers for their draft pull and rank them accordingly then do a snake draft with a point limit. So for point tiers I think R9, Maradona and Pele would be at the top (in Annah's they were lumped points wise with Batigol who has far less pull in draft games)

I think we should get consensus on a tier list of top players then work out points for them (when this is done we could float it as a genuine option)

Yeah a new draft with revised ratings in line with the current consensus should be pretty interesting I'd say. Would be interesting to see where the likes of Modric etc rank.

@Joga Bonito coming back to try and cash in the sentimental nostalgia vote when people see his team in the matches.

Clever girl.

The day Blokhin scored the greatest goal of his career.

There's feeding on scraps and then there's this. Poor bloke was completely isolated against Bayern's defense with Dynamo playing defensively - this was the away leg - leaving Blokhin extremely isolated in Bayern's half, and nothing can be possibly worse for a forward than to be isolated against a Beckenbauer-marshalled defense . There are times when you can see him surrounded by a sea of Bayern players with the next Dynamo player nowhere near sight.

Either way he put his searing pace to good use and managed to score 'that goal' whilst always being a constant thorn in Bayern's defense with his trickery and unpredictable off the ball movement.

In the 2nd leg at home he scored 2 goals but unfortunately I couldn't find a full game of that match.

Scores a nice goal at the start with a blistering run, and his pace and trickery as always troubling Bayern's defense - the run at 2.15 for instance where his run deep from his own half had to be halted with a foul from Bayern's defense, with Blokhin scoring from the resultant free-kick

Fantastic all round display for the historic double winning Spurs side. A complete dynamo, with aggressive ball-winning, astute positioning and excellent passing to boot.

Classy performance from Blanchflower, had excellent one touch passing and a real eye for a pass. However did tended to be caught a bit flat footed at times defensively but on the rare occasion it had to be said. Was otherwise solid defensively with his positioning and work-rate.

Leicester did have a player injured and couldn't replace him as there were no subs at that time, so it was unfortunate for them. However, Spurs simply packed way too much quality and it's fair to say they'd have won either way imo, despite Leicester putting up a good fight.

Cliff Jones put in an eye catching performance and seemed like a proper winger with blistering pace and trickery.

An immense Keano-esque display in the 1962 FA Cup Final. Repelled just about everything thrown at him and hardly put a foot wrong on the ball with his no-frills and excellent passing, with some neat one-twos and crosses.

Footage quality isn't too great which is understandable.

Nice display and had a good range of passing whilst being consistent and not going for the unnecessary hollywood pass and a notable defensive performance.

After the next draft i would like to run a modern draft (players born post 1985 , Messi & Ronaldo blocked), will be good to freshen things up and give players we know a lot about a serious run in the draft.

Even with the hefty restrictions in the current draft the usual suspects still appear in the latter stages so imo it will be a welcome change and bring in more contemporary debates.

Have we had 80's draft? It's a good option, of course with Messi/Cristiano blocked.

I think there was a 'modern' draft but that was about 3 years ago. What will make this draft different is excluding the 80-84 players which will result in picking up more contemporary and younger players still playing and avoiding most of the recent GOAT's.

Seeing as Edgar can't run the roulette draft, are you guys still in for the modern draft? ~Can you confirm? or opt out if not interested.

For the next draft, any interest in a Monopoly or Criteria based draft? I.e. Pick players based on a certain pre defined criteria

Here's an idea that has been mentioned before I think is an All-Time Snake with no restrictions but you have a points limit for your starting XI. These points are assigned to a list of players who are the best of the best and some below that - like EAPs minimum bids for certain players in the Uaction Draft. This should prevent GOAT overdose but also allow ultimate tactical flexibility which should hopefully lead to some interesting line-ups

I think an all time would be nice after having a seriously heavy restriction one at the moment.

Prefer Physio's all time snake idea if possible, will you be up for running it @Physiocrat ? Or anyone for that matter. We could vote and decide?

All time Snake

Modern Draft

I'll play either but not a fan of modern drafts (find them a bit boring personally) and would prefer an all time one.
I understand the need to mix them up, so will go with the majority.

Fair enough.

Haven't you got bored of the usual players every draft though?
