So thats it for the moment. Some good players already, I'll continue when I get up tomorrow.

My player is looking pretty amazing right now, great work Hefffo!

Great stuff but Jonny Tekkers should have an S instead of the Z at the end, but doesn't matter.

Liking mine, some good starting stats there, 12 accel, 12 balance, 12 pace (hoping those increase!) 16 flair, 18 determination, 13 technique, 13 first touch, 13 passing. £775,000 worth at 16 years old. Hoping to turn into a skillful speedy free kick taker.

Why are you City manager Heffo? Wouldn't it be better to leave yourself unemployed and let the game run?

I just like getting Mancini sacked :D. My plan was to take the job so I could get scout reports on some of the players who's attributes were hidden and then just quit after getting scout reports on everyone. I should have taken attribute masking off at the start but I was wrecked last night by the time I was setting up the game and I forgot. I think I'll just continue like this in case any players change due to me starting again.

My player is Chunky Monkey, was going to go with Heffinho but so many people have done that already I decide to try something else. That was the genius name I came up with.

I'm going to start simulating now, I suppose a season at a time would be the easiest so I'll be back later on to do an update. First season is always interesting, with most people at lower league clubs I'll be expecting a lot of transfer activity.

Just before I start I'll give a little update on our unemployed friends.

Jon Miller is attracting some decent interest at this stage, so far the only team to make an offer are Scottish side Brechin, most of the other parties with a major interest are also lower division Scottish teams, however League 1 side Peterborough have also shown a major interest and may still make a move.

Brownaldinho has admirers from all across the globe, over twenty clubs have shown a major interest. The majority of these come from Brazil, with Fluminense being the largest. However there is also major interest from a number of English clubs, teams as low down th leagues as Telford and as high up as Coventry have also been showing an interest. Aston Villa are among those showing a minor interest and may still be tempted to offer Brownaldinho a direct route to the Premier League. However he already has one contract offer from the mighty Kilmarnock and it is believed they are close to sealing his signature after convincing him about their ambitious 5 year (or was it 10) plan.

I might stop just before the January transfer window and just give a short update on Transfer and any major goings on but I won't be posting screenshots until the end of the season.

Yeah, do some updates at each transfer window so we know who has moved where and for how much. Do screenshots at the end of each season so people can see their goals/apps etc. How long will it take you to sim a season?

Yeah that sounds reasonable. Don't know how long it will take but we'll soon find out.

Simming a season is a piece of piss. It's the write up that kills you.

Yeah, buts its not even the write up I think I'll mind, that can be kind of enjoyable. The worst thing so far is the screenshots, having to trawl through my screenshots folder to find the right ones, then upload them, then copy and paste them here. It's so mind-numbingly repetitive

I recall in the 09 one that when the people doing the updates didn't have time to do any that they uploaded the save game to a site and someone else did it then.

I don't mind doing it the odd weekend if you need a break, basically.

Christ yes. I enjoyed it at first, and now and then later as well, but I wrote pages and pages and pages. It gets tedious!

Fixing the screenshots also gets tedious, but I got into a nice little groove eventually. Bookmarks > profile, take screenshot, ctrl+v into paint, crop it the way want, ctrl+c, ctrl+n, ctrl+v, ctrl+s. Easy :p

That said, I sort of feel like doing it again some time. Maybe with FM12. I'll try not to leave it

If the attribute masking is going to be a problem you should probably just restart it. Shit happens. I haven't played with attribute masking in a long time, though, so don't know if the attributes will ever be.. masked again.

Yeah that was me who took over. I smashed through about 5 seasons in a couple of days and people were loving how fast the updates were coming, screenshots and everything, eventually I just lost the will to do it though. Hope that doesn't happen here but it always seems to, we've never reached retirement in any of these

Heffo, use imgur, pretty decent site for uploading, you just drag the pics onto the site. Not sure how your screenshot system works but with on my Mac I push Crtl Alt F4 and it lets me select the area I want to screenshot and they all just appear on the desktop and I drag and drop.

That's the thing. I got it one weekend when I was stuck back home, think I did 3 updates over the weekend, then got back to work and lost any urge to continue at all.

Ya cheers for the offer. I have absolutely nothing going on till I start working during the summer again but if I need a break or if I'm away for a few days I might get you or one of the other posters to do it.

Mid-season updates coming up......

I think he's only doing a mid season one now because there will be lots of transfer activity.

When I first did this kind of thing, on another forum, I did it in 5 year increments, I think. I remember the club one I did, where I was doing half-year increments with entire clubs, and quite a few of them. That one got tedious very quickly. Right now I feel more like doing a manager one. Not sure we've done one of those on RedCafe, have we?

Will be fun to be part of one instead of writing it, though :)

So heres the story so far, hasn't turned out perfectly in terms of Miller and Brownaldinho in particular. I can start it again and make a few changes or continue as it is? I want to decide shortly so could anyone on now voice their opinion and we'll go by that:

After seeing how close Kilmarnock were to signing Brownaldinho other interested parties quickly got their bids in. Brownaldinho eventually rejected the likes of Olympiakos, Fluminense and of course Kilmarnok before settling on Aston Villa. However in a very very unfortunate twist due to the fact he is Brazilian it would seem he is not allowed to join until he turns 18. On the bright side he seems to have pledged his future to Northern Ireland.........:nervous:

Miller rejected Brechin to sign for another Scottish side, Ayr. However he is in the same boat as Brownaldinho in that his nationality is preventing him from playing till he turns 18 (Summer of 2012).

In other news Makki Z became the youngest ever League Cup player. cnuty McFlange then became the competitions youngest ever goalscorer before his short lived record was broken weeks later by Archer.

After most players initially rejected their clubs offers of professional contracts most have accepted by this stage. However Nimicinho was snatched up by Notts county on the last day of the transfer window for just 5k in compensation. He has gone on to play 12 games for them in the first half of the season scoring 7 goals.

Elias Gilliard turned the heads of a few European clubs with some distinguished performances for Hereford. After seeing him reject Herefords offer of a new contract Strasbourg moved quickest to seal a deal which would see him join in January for 50k in compensation.

They are the main happenings so far. Continue or restart?

If the hidden attributes thing isn't an issue after you scouted, I don't think it's necessary. The Brazilian thing is unfortunate. It's just a couple of years, though.

Right I'll continue on so, Brownaldinho won't be able to play club football until he turns 18. He has gotten one cap so far for the Northern Ireland u19s if thats any consolation.

I used ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing for uploading the images, they save it in sets for easy reference and linking for forum posts. Never faced any problem with them.

Would advise you to create an unemployed manager and subscribe to all the players you created so it'll be easier for you instead of typing their names down.

And lastly if you ever encounter attribute masking, what I used to do was to save the game, enter a new manager at a top club, scout those players whose attributes were masked and exit without saving after you're done with the screenshots.

Apologies to the rest about the abandonment of mine, tried replacing the DVD and reinstalling it but FM 11 just won't work :(

Cheers for the advice, I resigned from the city job before I started simming so I'm unemployed now. When the attributes get masked again I just plan to get a new manager and scout all the players again as you said there. I'll have a look at that ImageBam site and decide which one i'm going to use.
