New Fantasy Draft

Im interested that so many people are opting for a 2-man midfield (or at least a 4-2-3-1). I wouldve thought that considering none of us will have 11 superstars for a first XI, people would opt for a slightly more defensive approach.

I think Boosh's team is decent, but for me the ones I am hoping to avoid in the first round are Solius and arjwiz - anyone else I am relatively confident I would have a decent chance against.

Deliberate runs (straight lines) and natural drifting (separated lines), or something. And Walker going inside was because it's a trademark atypical run of his, to go inside the winger (like Evra).

It is, even through I'm surprised you picked Jeffren. I think he's terrible, Barca's answer to Gibson.

You've got no solid centre mids though - you've got a good shuttler in Granero and a penetrative passer/runner in Anderson but neither are any good at sitting or dictating the play. Renato Augusto's not going to help out at all. No control over the midfield puts you at a bit of a disadvantage against Banega, Sahin, Wilshire, Alcantara, Ramsey etc. (never mind Canales, Ganso and Kroos in one team - possible overkill but you'd not get near them).

And Jeffren seems a bit rubbish.

I've modelled the formation on United, solid defence, great attackers and midfield passengers. ;)

I think you have the best team. But the excessive amount of offensive players may cost you. Dzagoev and ninis are very offensive players. Marcelo is an attack minded full back.

basically I think you have the team with the most quality, but lacks balance
 
Excellent team by Solius, but I just feel that midfield lacks defensive steel to contain good midfields. Breno, Badstuber and Marcelo aren't that great defensively also.
 
Solius' team is definitely lacking defensiveness i agree. But he is definitely the one to avoid in the first round!

Perrotti, Iturbe, Biabiany, shaquiri, Griezeman, Defederico, Aissati, volkan sen, Fernando, Bradley, Zuculini, matip, Mccarthy, Poli, Victor Ruiz, Mannone
 
McCarthy, Matip, Shaquiri and Bradley were the ones left on my list.
 
Shall I do the draw now? Or would you guys prefer we find someone neutral to do the draw? Let's face it, the draw really matters because of the nick a player off the losing side rule.

I think somebody neutral should do it, potential for disaster if a person involved does it I think.
 
Coutinho of Inter is another player I'm surprised nobody drafted

Ye I think having a neutral do the draw would probably be the best solution

And I previously forgot to include uruguay international nicolas lodeiro
 
Cheers for the praise of my team guys. I was going for Defour in a Carrick-ish role, both aren't exactly the most defensive players but it can still work. Going forward they look a force though, even in versatility.

That'll be done in the match thread, I'll setup the thread and you guys get your say with your tactics and graphics and whatever, and then we get a mod (eventually) to change it into a poll.

Guess we should make press conf before games for some trash talk before matches. that would be fun.

I guess players should not only explain the strength of their formation, but also why his selected tactic would be most affective vs his opponent. What is players strength vs head to head defender and so on.
 
I think we shouldnt rush it. take it slow game by game. Let the manager to up their teams in depth. analyse every weakness and strength of the set up. I think last fantasy was way to fast paced.
 
Okay, since everyone is in favour of a press conference thread, let's do that. Especially since we don't yet have a mod to setup the polls.
