Neven Subotic

Ah.

Doubt we would be in for another CB anyway. We are pretty well stocked up there.

Hummels is the better CB at Dortmund, but also less likely to be sold given he's in the German national team.

I was thinking the same thing. If we are going for one of the two, I'd prefer Hummels.

You think Dortmund are going to be selling their german internationals at all?
There is still that financial burden hanging over the club - if a European club would be interested in buying Hummels, than I can see Dortmund selling for the right price, yes.

I was trying to find something out about Dortmund's finances and found conflicting info, are they in much debt, and do you know from what?

Serbia is his blood mate. He's a cnut because of that?

Americans are weird regarding "foreigners". Sometimes they're ok and are allowed in. Sometimes they're ruining the country and everything is their fault. Or that might just be Fox and CNN and not Americans.

I think Subotic is ready for the PL. He is potentially a very good CB, but still prone to lapses of concentration. He is however a beast at set-pieces.

I think Arsenal should have gone for him myself.

I like to pretend the chuckleheads at fox news are not part of this country

It's a bit shit when a player of his talent comes through the US ranks at youth level and then fecks off.

Talent like he and Rossi are not typical for us.

Agreed, though they're making a lot of money at the moment (Champions League) and will probably sell Goetze in 2013 (I don't think he'll move in 2012, despite the EURO where he'll feature heavily barring an injury) for a club record sum.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Bayern trying to re-sign Hummels, the rumours just won't go away anyway.

If you work your way through the US system, then feck off to Serbia, then you're a cnut.

EVERYONE in the US has blood from another country. It's part of our deal. We expect people who live here and play in the youth system to play for country.

Rossi always said he would play for Italy. I've got no problem with players who are honest.

At least Serbia are on their way down instead of up.

I can understand Subotic's side of the story though. He was basically singled out and dropped after being sent off in a 2006 U20 match. He was later left off the 2007 U20 World championships, controversially in the footballing circles apparently. Perhaps had Gulati hired Klinsmann in 2006 maybe the latter could have convinced Neven to stay with the US.

United are stocked in central defense so I doubt they're interested in him, unless Evans is on the move (doubtful). I think Subotic would be perfect for Arsenal.

Big fecking deal.

You think he couldn't have developed like that in Europe or Serbia?

Put simply, he would be a far bigger cnut to go and play for a country that isn't his blood instead of play for the country of his blood - not to mention a country that bombed Serbia.

We're still producing players and will continue to do so, and as we can't go any worse we can look to the future.

Not really. with Ferdinands longevity and the fragile nature of the twins Smalling and or Jones would be called into playing RB more. Personally I like the idea of two Serbians at CB. I never understand this we have enough mentality people have on here. We should always be looking for better players and always ready to replace former starters at a minutes notice.

Not when we could potentially spend another £20m on a centre half when our midfield is still crying for new faces.

It know a lad that works as a coach in San Francisco at United's academy there. He says that the whole youth training system is a complete scam, mostly set up to extract vast swathes ofucash from parents who're all, without exception, told that their 6yo son is going to be the next big thing, if only they'd hand over $6,000 for a further season's coaching.

TBH, I wouldn't expect any successes to stick around there any longer than they had to.

I'm surprised we aren't linked with Subotic, to me he's just as good as hummels if not better and would probably be cheaper given the fact he's been off the radar lately due to injury.

He's just coming back from a serious knee injury. We don't even know if he'd be the same player as he was.

May be that's why we shouldn't go for him. Evans has been off the radar due to injury. Smalling and Jones have been off the radar due to playing as a right back and centre mid.

He's a very good center back but has been injured for a while. Personally, I'd much rather a center back who isn't injury prone considering our current 3 are. He doesn't even need to be that good. Just a solid defender who will always be fit would be an improvement for us.

Hummels is definitely better, and Sokratis' performance this season is probably better than anything Subotic has shown.

Klopps preferred centre-back pairing this season so far has been Matthias Ginter and Mats Hummels. Subotic has been on the bench.....wouldn't be a bad option at all if Dortmund were willing to sell

They wouldn't sell him after their injury crisis last season. They needed depth so they signed a massive talent in Ginter who was/is proving himself to be good enough to go straight into the first team.
