Its entirely possible that a player might not work in one system but thrive in another you know? (Also, Matic wasn't even that bad in Conte's 3-4-3 system. He kept Cesc from getting regular starts for most of the season so I'd suggest he was doing something right!)

And mentally a players prime is probably 28-35, so when you look at Matic, and experienced destroyer in his late twenties, I'd say he's bang in his prime.

Matic will help Pogba but people need to stop acting like Pogba's played badly. He's had a handful of bad games, Liverpool (H) being the worst. By and large he's played very well and just been let down, not in midfield but up front. I hope Lukaku's addition will change that.

It's definitely FM influencing people. Everyone wants to see a team full of 21-24 aged players. Anything beyond that is bad. People seem to forget that this is real life and teams need experience to win things. We already have so many youngsters playing regularly in the team.They are utter nonsense. Besides Matic is not someone who relies on his pace to suddenly decline at 30. I think he has another 3-4 good seasons left. More than enough if he ends up helping us winning the title.
