Even after an exhilarating win like this, Matic still looked a sore thumb in that second half midfield. So slow and laboured. At times, it was as if he were walking in treacle.
0/10 today. He's in the same form as Mourinho last season at Chelsea, God awful at everything.
I honestly believe that if you asked him what his responsibilities and role are in the team, he wouldn't know the answer.
We haven't. This myth is always conjured up when he's criticised. We've run him into the ground.
I really miss Michael Carrick. Matic just doesn't have that ability to drive the ball forwards from deep.
Let's blame Ed.Said before, will say again, Nemanja Matic is finished as a top level player.
£40m for 6 good months. Excellent transfer business.
Exactly. The guy comes back from a surgery+holiday and first thing that happens is that he starts vs Tottenham, we know the result and how Lucas Moura destroyed him too. Matic is old and slow so he needs to be managed extra carefully but Mourinho is destroying him, game after game. He's regressing. Would have gladly given TFM a few games in his position to mould him into the team.
Mourinho has a part in this. Ran him to the ground last season and now this.
True. The only moment he was rested in the 2nd half of last season, he came back instantly better. He is simply played way too often and is rarely replaced during gamesI was saying this last season. He was great the 1st half of last season and then he dropped to average for the 2nd half of the season save for a few moments. Glad he's not escaping criticism anymore.
Since joining us, I don't recall a worst performance of him than yesterday's. I really hope that it's just temporary. What ever that operation was on his knees sliced him into half the player he was
