Immense. Strong, powerful, composed. Exactly what we needed in midfield.
 
His will to make a positive turn or a pass impresses me. F.x. the time Rashford hit the post, most defensive midfielders would have made the easy pass back to Jones but he easily beat his man to set up an instant attack.

It's been an issue for me for years now, the unwillingness to be brave and start an attack. Contributing to pedestrian performances. He looks like he'll solve that.
 
Gonna be vital isn't he, great player. Gotta wonder why Chelsea decided to sell it was a massive mistake.

Why the hell did Chelsea sell this guy to us? Absolute boss in midfield alongside Pogba. West Ham couldn't get near him at any time. I will never question Jose's judgement again, if we can sign up Perisic do it!
 
I'll admit I wasn't that keen on him. He is an absolutely dream player. What we've been needing for years. And he instructs others on the pitch. 40m from a rival is a steal.

Yeah, even if they wanted Kante to be the main player in that sort of role, I'm still kind of shocked that they were willing to let such a good player go to a major rival with little fuss.
 
Knew he would be good for us but if he can keep this level of performance up for the season then he will have surpassed I imagine anybody's expectations - including Mourinho's
 
Was really impressed by his performance on the ball. You know he's going to be solid defensively but he had some really nice touches/passes today which is a big bonus ofr our ability to counter.
 
MOTM performance in a 4-0 home win, a day after Chelsea have Fabregas sent off in a 3-2 home loss :D

Looks like we have found our missing link.

Against weaker teams I feel it's either him and Pogba or Herrera playing deep and Mata in or Pogba in front of them.

Against the strong teams we go with a 4-3-3 and with Matic behind Pogba and Herrera/Fellaini.

If he can keep this form up, he'll be exactly what we needed in midfield.
 
Now i understand why Jose gave up on Fabinho as soon as he heard there was a chance to land this guy.
 
The thing I love about him is that he seems to command the whole midfield already. This in his first game for us.

I actually can't believe how good he was. Is this a honeymoon period performance, or is he like this week-in week-out?
 
Can't believe we not only found a decent replacement for Carrick at his age but he is turning into a seriously good upgrade. Thanks Chelsea you dumb fecks.
